Bedford Park. A place where people usually came to relax and enjoy the view of the city. It was located in the middle of the city, but at night, it was full of homeless people. I've been waiting for a hidden place near that park. I waited until the dark on top of a tree overlooking the park itself. Sierra must have planted the tool on that park, and I have to retrieve it.
According to the coordinates on my phone, the device was located between the bushes on the southwest corner of the park. The device was a box that had an Ethernet cable on it. I could plug it to any laptop and hacked it with Sierra's help.
I climbed down the tree and walked to the park. The moon was shining brightly. Snoring people were around that park. I walked inside that park. I went to the southwest direction to search for that device that Sierra hid.
'Where are you?' I searched through the bushes, I found it. The box was hidden under a pack of leaves in the bushes. I grabbed it with my hand and looked at it.
The box was black and had a large display on it. It was connected to an Ethernet cable. I got another transmission from Sierra.
Sierra: "Good. You find it. Now go to the administration office. It should be empty now."
Lynn: "Ok."
Sierra: "Good luck. Hmm, what should I call you? Lima?"
Lynn: "Lima seems ok for me. I will accept that nickname."
I walked outside of that park and walked to the government office that was located on Bedford street. Sierra would help me in accessing that building with his hacking abilities.
The building was located six blocks away from the park. The building was a modern building with four floors. The front door was closed and locked. There was only one entrance which was the back entrance. I needed to gain access to the back without triggering any security.
I walked around the building while Sierra gave me the order on whether I should walk or crouched since there were guards patrolling the perimeter. They wouldn't hesitate to call for backup if they saw me. Not that I didn't want to kill or shoot them, I just didn't want to screw Sierra's plan. Besides, he sounded like he wanted me to do it very quietly.
Sierra: "Watch your step. There's a pressure plate two meters in front of you. I'll disable it for you."
There was practically nothing in front of me with the exception of the same asphalt road. Sierra sounded more like a God than a hacker at this point since he acted as the all-knowing. he practically could see what I couldn't see.
I walked slowly and avoided any contact with any living creature. My objective was a power box that was located right in front of the backdoor. Sierra instructed me to put the device inside the power box so he could gain access to the whole building.
"Alright, here we go." I plugged the Ethernet cable inside the power box and left the device there. I closed the power box again to make sure than I didn't leave any trace.
Sierra: "Disabling alarm... There, now you can use your crowbar to breakthrough."
I grabbed the crowbar from my back and pried the wooden door with my crowbar. The door broke easily and I immediately had access to the government building. The door was connected to a hallway that led to the main hall, but I couldn't do that unfortunately since there was a guard right in front of me.
I pulled the trigger of my suppressed rifle and blew his head. The head turned into a sloppy joe mess and I felt nauseous again. Some of the previous contracts didn't involve me killing anyone messily. It was usually a clean shot through the heart that would decapacitate them and killed them.
'Lynn, take control of yourself, you must not like again.' I walked passed that dead body. I picked up that dead body and carried it on my back before I threw him away to the storage room in that hallway.
Sierra: "All clear. Move."
I walked outside the hallway and went to the main hall where the guards' concentration was way more severe than in the backdoor. 'Shit.' I immediately ran to the nearest office of that main hall to avoid any eye contact with the guards.
The office was very rustic as if it was made back in the 19th century. Well, the building was old and I would bet that the owner of the building didn't want it to change the old style of the building. I was hiding behind the table that was located in that office.
The carpet felt very soft. It was made from an expensive material. It was most likely that this was a room for a high-ranked member in the office. I looked for the HDMI cable and plugged it off from the computer so it wouldn't accidentally be turned on and reveal my location. I turned on that computer and plugged my phone into that computer.
Sierra: "Great. I'm starting to download the data now. It will take a few minutes. In the meantime, all you can do is wait."
And so I waited. I kept hearing the chatter between the guards about their boring job of guarding the office building. They said that they were expecting action nowadays. I could fulfill that expectation, but I had to finish the job first or Sierra would be angry at me for ruining his perfect plan.
Sierra: "I've finished the download. You can get out now."
I heard the message and got out of my hiding. The guards' flashlight suddenly waved around uncontrollably. They were in panic mode. They had just discovered the dead body that I had hidden in the backdoor.
Sierra: "Shit. They found the dead body."
Lynn: "What should I do?"
Sierra: "Find the nearest window and jump!"
Lynn: "Ok."
I unplugged my smartphone from that computer and I looked around for a nearby window. There were multiple options for the window, but I had to make sure that the guards would only see me when I broke the window and jumped through it. There was no need for the unnecessary gunfight at that point since my job was done.
My target was the window located right behind me. I threw my crowbar into the window and jumped through it. The guards started shouting to check in that direction. I picked up my crowbar and begun to run as fast as I could or I would be busted by those guards.
Sierra: "Turn left. I'll do a major distraction."
I took a turn left in Bedford street. That direction was on the opposite side of Bedford Park. I would have to run further than I had expected. The moment I got out of that building, I noticed that lights were flickering on and off inside of that building, it was most likely to be Sierra's job.
I kept running and running until I felt so exhausted that I couldn't be running anymore. There wasn't anyone behind me. I was in the clear. The mission was successful. I retrieved the data that Sierra asked without triggering any meaningful alarm that could possibly trigger the arrival of the armed response team.
"Good job, Lima. I will wire the money now. This info is too damn good," Sierra said.

I jumped ecstatically once I heard the ping sound from the notification. The thirty grand was finally inside of my account. Now, I could but more expensive things and more complicated hardware. Sierra also would become my ally because of today's mission. Overall, this was a very good day with the hacker man.
I walked slowly in the street and put my rifle on my back. A girl like me wasn't supposed to be in a place like in the middle of the empty street at midnight, that's one of the reasons why I kept the combat loadout. Nobody would mess with someone who had an assault rifle on her back.
As I walked, I saw him again, the dark figure that was so familiar that I wasn't surprised to see him again. It was Echo who was sitting on a bench on the Bedford street. He was holding his assault rifle. "So, have you finished the job?" Echo asked.
"Yup and Sierra were happy with the result." I sat down right beside of Echo.
"Good. I thought you would screw the plan up, but you have proved me otherwise. Congrats." Echo stood up and left me without saying anything. What a weird man. I had to know about him soon.
