Chapter 073

With it just being a single instance of Enable Function to get the feat, I don't even need to adjust my gear; the thirty CC's per side is well within the flex of the armor.  I stretch, and go about my business.

For me, storage isn't actually in the ships… but I need to do most of the work of refitting the ships myself (with summoned help, sure, but it’s not exactly a great idea for me to buff up dock workers to be able to see what they're working on), so order doesn't much matter. So I do my normal skill buff routine and find someone who is absolutely desperate for my cargo and is willing to pay an outrageous sum for it. It takes an entire day to do that, just because of how the downtime rules work, but eh, whatever.

Next up is refitting the ships; I cut deals, pay bribes, pay actual prices, and soon enough we have all the parts we need, with my summoned minions doing the actual work of swapping parts… I just make sure the components have all the right buff spells before we put them in.

Amazingly, Patricia does not get in enough trouble for me to revoke her physical existence on the first day….

“Hey!”

Seriously, Patricia, you EAT SOULS, when we first met you tried to evict me from my body, and um… why was it you were trapped in that strange channel between realities?

“One simple little misunderstanding at a monastery… but the men that bugger little boys are just SO delicious and he had indulged SO often that I couldn't resist him, but somehow I'm the ‘demon’ when I take a few tiny little… okay, several massive gobbles… of his essence while he's filling people's heads with utter nonsesense about chastity being such a virtue… you'd think that order of paladins hadn't seen a robe burst like that before, and…”

Nevermind, Patricia. I suppose I'm not going to hold that one against you.

“It's a funny story, up until I got caught, I mean…”

Some other time, Patricia.

“Oh fine.”

Anyway: That in order, I suppose I do need to introduce Patricia to everyone… even though she already knows everyone.

So I rent out a small meeting room (I would use a Keyhome, but Stephanie can't join in those as of yet), and have my existing minions in attendance: Stephanie, previously Steven (a very chauvinistic shipboard AI who only wanted women to obey), now a perfectly obedient woman; Cowbird, the former Strix pirate who tried to kill me after I rescued him, previously loving randomly torturing others, now a willing masochistic slave; Euler, a Hologram I rescued from being stranded on an alien world, who requested power… and thanks to his love of loyal women, is now completely loyal to me; Linda, an ex mobster who always wanted to be a woman, kept Charmed under my command at her request; and the twin starships Star and Ocean, who I feminized at their request as part of giving them the power they wanted for survival, who are serving as indentured servants under a six year verbal contract… that's not filed anywhere, and thus is unenforceable (except by me, which is probably enough).... Huh.  If I count Patricia, literally half the actual people who work for me have tried to kill me at some point… and two of the three that haven't are very recent additions. Maybe I should work on my hiring practices?  Regardless: All of their souls are currently neon pink… and all but the twins have a little white dot… looks like I'll ned to make a nursery soon… and all of their chairs are WAY back from the conference table… because their colossal chest pillows are in the way.

Well…Cowbird is kneeling, and I'm sitting on her back, but still.

I keep Patricia outside for the moment, “So… you're all familiar with my unique hiring practices….”

Linda chuckles, Cowbird manages not to snerk, the twins raise their eyebrows, Stephanie laughs outright, Euler smiles. Oh. Right.  I haven't explained how that works to the twins. Eh, I'm sure someone will fill them in eventually.

I continue, “Well, before I met any of you, there's someone else I ‘recruited’ after she attempted to eat my soul, and I have been using her power as my own ever since. She still has a mind that's… mostly her own; she's been stuck as a voice in my head, but I recently figured out a way to lend her a body.  Patricia, come on in.”

The room is a soundproofed corporate meeting room, but that doesn't matter: I have constant telepathic contact with Patricia. She saunters in the door, one fleshy orb at a time (front right, rear right, front left, rear left… and in that order; her backside is ridiculous as well), nominally covered by some armor.

“Now, she's on a very tight leash; she can't get more than a mile from me and still see, hear, and move,” although thinking about it, with the psionic powers I gave her, she could probably work around that… but not sudden existence failure from me deciding to dismiss Enable Function, “so she won't be piloting a ship.  But I figured I ought to introduce her to everyone.”

Euler looks at her chest… I think that's envy… right.  BE fetish.  Everyone else… is also not looking at her face, but it’s lust.

“Of course they're not looking at my face,” my Psicrystal in… mostly human form pipes up, “they're all very, very bi… or maybe omni?... and I'm very fem.  Of course they want to look! And they're welcome to do so,” she pauses and slits her eyes, “and to touch, too.”

I sigh, “Patricia, don't respond verbally to my thoughts when there's other people about,  and don't share things I'd prefer to keep quiet.”

“Yes Sir,” she responds.

I continue, “Anyway, she is… technically a part of me now, and has been longer than you've known me. But… don't necessarily trust her. She doesn't seem to be able to directly lie to me or to disobey me… I don't know about anyone else.”

“Oh, I can absolutely lie and ignore commands from anyone else…” she pauses, “Same as anyone else, really,” she pauses and looks at Linda, “Okay, you're in a similar boat….”

“I have a question…” Euler starts, “When can I get that big?”

I sigh, “Euler, you're addicted, after a fashion. You won't be satisfied even if we make your chest big enough to attract it’s own atmosphere,” I pause, “But she's simply using Shapechange to choose her own appearance. The base form of the body I was able to provide is a little crystal, with sharply limited mobility. You should be able to do anything within the range of your racial norms that's not smaller than you are now.”

Euler pauses, “I'm already well past ‘racial norms’ - I want to know how she did that.”

Patricia takes a breath, but I interrupt mentally: Don't tell her about the Tiefling trick.

“Fine,” she speaks back into my mind, and verbally replies, “It's because I'm just that awesome.”

Euler rolls her eyes, and Linda asks an actually pertinent question, “Why?”

That gives me pause; why did I ‘free’ her? Well… “Part of it was something of an apology; I ignored her when I shouldn’t have, and will bear the consequences,” literally, “part of it is that I don't really like being a prison for another consciousness,” I almost said ‘being’, but as I understand it, she's not technically a separate creature anymore, “but it was kind of a spur of the moment decision. I can reverse her physical existence very easily if I need.”

“Yes, but you're stuck with me in your head, either way,” Patricia adds, “right up until you properly accept that I'm part of you, at which point we merge… until you die for good, but you're not letting that happen any time soon, so….” she trails off.

I cringe, and Star saves me from needing to respond, “Ah… are you sane, goddess?” Everyone switches to staring at Star.

For once, they're not doing the twin thing, “I've asked myself the same question. My behavior can be very strange, but,” I pause, “it all works, so… I'm probably sane.”

Ocean chuckles, “I suppose that's the sanest answer anyone can give, isn't it?”

In the pause that follows, I step in, “Is there any other general business?” Everyone shakes their heads, and I continue, “Okay then. I want to talk privately with Ocean and Star; everyone else is dismissed.”

I get up so Cowbird can leave as well, and most folks file out.  When we're alone, I close the door, and turn to the twins, “So: I'm willing to finance the spell needed to restore one of you. Have you decided which of you is going to be the mother, and which the father?”

They pause and look ay each other; I have a bit of trouble reading their expressions.

Ocean speaks first….
