It seems that Huo Jun has noticed her too.
His eyes are bathed in an abnormal red glow. His looks like a predator who has seen his prey as his hands start to tear at the iron bars more fiercely.
Ah Zhao takes a few steps forward as she asks cotton candy: “What is happening to him?”
Cotton candy is confused as well. “I don't know.”
Ah Zhao walks closer and stops where Huo Jun can't reach her by hand.
“Huo Jun.” She calls.
However, he doesn’t seem to hear her anymore.
He just wants to get rid of the cage desperately when his open mouth lets out deep groans.
She notices one of his nails is broken and it is bleeding because of all the strength he exerts. There are bruises on his forehead, clearly from hitting the cage.
In the cage, there are a few broken ropes.
Huo Jun has probably tied himself but underestimated his destructive power.
“He is going to hurt himself.” Ah Zhao says and she suddenly walks forward.
“Ah Zhao, what are you doing?” Cotton candy cries in surprise.
“I must stop him.”
As she speaks, Huo Jun takes her arms.
His grips are strong which hurts Ah Zhao.
“Huo Jun.” Ah Zhao walks next to the cage. They lean on each other with only iron bars in between.
“Don't you recognize me?”
Huo Jun pants heavily. His hot breaths blow her face.
His bloodshot eyes are fixed on her.
His hands dig into her flesh which causes her sharp pains.
Though she has always been susceptible to pains, she doesn’t cry this time. She simply looks into his eyes and calls him again and again.
The grips on her arms suddenly relax.
Then, she is pushed hard. She stumbles and falls.
“Go!” A gruff voice goes up.
When Ah Zhao looks up, she sees him crashing into the floor with his arms around his head.
“Huo Jun!” She calls loudly.
However, he just rolls on the floor with his arms around his head as if he is going through great pains.
Ah Zhao suddenly gets up.
She reaches for two iron bars as thick as grown man’s arms.
Her fair and slender hands pull the black iron bars apart slowly until the space between them can fit a person.
She lets out a sigh of relief and walks to him.
He suddenly widens his eyes and is about to grab her.
Quick of eye and deft of hand, Ah Zhao hits him on the neck.
“Pong!”
Huo Jun falls and passes out.
Then, with legs weak as jelly, she falls as well and sits beside him.
She only feels a bit dizzy since what she has done tonight is a big challenge to her weak health.
Before she has time to check on Huo Jun, her vision goes blank and she becomes unconscious too.
Ah Zhao wakes up in her own bed.
Lv Zhu, who has been waiting on her notices that she has woken up, lets out a sigh of relief and calls with smiles: “My Lady has woken up! Go tell the general!”
Ah Zhao moves a bit only to find her arms and back extremely hurt and her head dizzy.
Carefully, Lv Zhu helps her up and puts several pillows behind her.
Ah Zhao rests for a while and asks when she feels a bit better: “What happened to me?”
She just remembers following Huo Jun to that yard, seeing Huo Jun in a bad state and passing out.

“Where is the general?” Worried, she asks hurriedly.
Lv Zhu sees her expression and answers hastily: “The general is in the study. He has been by your side for a whole day and night and only left in the morning for an urgent matter.”
