After that, the General’s Manor has been peaceful for quite some time until one day Huo Jun suddenly comes to Ah Zhao, followed by the old doctor.

His eyes are weirdly bloodshot which makes him look extremely fierce.

He tells them as if he is holding back something: “It’s coming.”

Then, he leaves with them.

Back to that same abandoned yard.

When the old doctor sees that secret mechanism, he strokes his beard and exclaims slowly: “You big shots do know how to enjoy yourselves.”

Before he finishes, he is picked up by Huo Jun by the collar and dragged down the stairs.

The old doctor: “...”

At the end of the stairs, Huo Jun lets go of him. The old doctor rubs his neck and coughs. “Well, even if you are the general, at least show some respect to an old man like me!”

Huo Jun doesn't respond.

He picks up a rope routinely and ties himself up tightly, after which, he goes to the cage.

Ah Zhao stops him.

By now, his eyes are more bloodshot. He says gruffly: “Step aside.”

She opens her mouth: “Have you forgotten what happened last time? You don't have to lock yourself in the cage. If things do get out of control, I’ll knock you out.”

Huo Jun: “...”

He pauses for a moment and steps back. “Tie me to the chair then.”

Ah Zhao nods.

The old doctor stands by as he watches General Huo being tied to a chair with deep interest.

Ah Zhao steps back and asks him a bit worried: “Sir, look at his symptoms. Are you sure you can cure him?”

Perhaps old folks are always calm that the old doctor moves and speaks slowly. Ah Zhao really wants to set a fast-forward function in him.

He answers slowly: “Don't worry. He's not there yet.”

Bang!

Before the old doctor even finishes his sentence, Huo Jun has hit the ground along with the chair he is tied to which created the loud bang.

The man on the ground is covered in sweat. His trim and clean clothes become dirty because of the dirt on the ground. Clearly, he is in a bad state.

The ease on the old doctor's face has disappeared completely. He walks forward solemnly.

Ah Zhao calls out instinctively: “Watch out!”

The old doctor doesn't respond and slowly gets closer to the man lying panting heavily on the ground, wanting to get rid of the ropes around him.

“I need to take the general’s pulses.” He says.

Ah Zhao: “...”

Thank god I come with them. She thinks.

She walks up, grabs Huo Jun's struggling hands and puts the chair back up.

Then she presses his hands and tells the old doctor: “Sir, please take his pulses.”

The old doctor looks at Ah Zhao with a strange expression and asks curiously: “Well, does the general just look fearsome but is in fact weak during this period?”

His voice fades when he sees Huo Jun break the rope around his arms.

His eyes widen as he looks at the rope as thick as a thumb and watches Ah Zhao press Huo Jun down on the chair with ease.

After a good while, the old doctor has taken Huo Jun’s pulses. Having known what to expect, he exclaims to Ah Zhao: “I was wrong. It seems not everyone is qualified to be a general's wife.”

Cupping his hands to Ah Zhao, he sounds amazed: “My Lady, I admire your superhuman strength.”

Ah Zhao: “...”

She smiles shyly and takes it as a compliment. “Sir, you flatter me. I’m just a little stronger than the average.”

The old man's mouth twitches. He refuses to think further about that “a little”.
