Hey, guys! I'm back from my assignment.

Well, I am already writing chap 29, but I want your honest opinion on the color scheme of the monsters.

I did some research and found that, aside from some aliens, the only plausible blood color for oxygen-based is, you guessed it, red, because of the Hemes carrying oxygen and iron molecules.

Well, I initially thought of some magical handwavium saying that the future humans found some form of better and more efficient oxygen transference, possible through genetic engineering, but now I find that I somewhat regret that hasty decision.

Even the skin color is... redundant and over-the-top. I should have gone ahead and made all those monsters green in the first place and with red blood. For fuck sake, they are plant-based human-spliced monsters. Well, on the other hand, I can still justify their yellow blood if I remove their lungs and replace them with plant-based breathing, and the blood with mostly-plasma nutrient carriers.

But then comes the Ascended, the Transhumans. As transhumans meant for space travel and combat, I originally planned on making their skin more ceramic-rich, giving them resistance to irradiation and increased durability, but I still can't explain what reason they would have to have yellow blood. It's not like I can make them completely different from carbon-based lifeforms.

And so, I am now stuck with this.

In any case, I am considering changing the color scheme of at least the Ascended back to the red spectrum.

So, what do you think? Go all the way with magical handwavium, or make it at least hypothetically possible by changing the Ascended color scheme?
