Chapter 66: Romance

Fortunately, during that day's Demon Exorcism Comprehensive class, Lu Xiu wasn't there, only Sigu and Cao Bin.

"Teacher Lu has classes today," Cao Bin, as usual, said, "He can't come for now. How was your May Day holiday? Haven't thanked you yet for helping find that little fox."

Sigu was engrossed in a book, sinking into the sofa.

"It was nothing," Jiang Hong said with a smile. Seeing Cao Bin in class again after a while felt like a peaceful interlude amidst chaotic times, as if what happened outside had nothing to do with Cangqiong University.

Xiao Pi also came, starting to prepare coffee for Cao Bin and Jiang Hong.

"Several courses will undergo adjustments this semester," Cao Bin said, "You'll know once they start. Are you prepared for the other coursework?"

With the May Day holiday over, it was time to prepare for finals. Jiang Hong felt overwhelmed just thinking about it; the coursework for a demon exorcist seemed way more intense than that of a regular undergraduate!

"Oh my God!" Xiao Pi exclaimed, "I still don't know what to do for the artifact class at the end of the term!"

"Take your time, you'll figure something out," Cao Bin advised, "Well, now we need to prepare for the end-of-term projects. What do you want to work on this semester? Jiang Hong, why don't you start?"

Jiang Hong pondered for a moment, then said, "I have many things I want to ask the principal."

"One at a time," Cao Bin replied.

"Teacher, do you know what the most powerful weapon in the world is?" Jiang Hong asked.

Although Xiao Pi wasn't usually that curious, Jiang Hong's classroom questions always seemed to open doors to new worlds, just like today, making Xiao Pi forget his own topic.

Cao Bin was taken aback by Jiang Hong's sudden question and found it a bit hard to answer.

"The most powerful weapon," Cao Bin said, "depends on what you mean by 'powerful.' And how do you define 'weapon'?"

Like many university professors, when faced with a question like "Is AA an XX?", the first response would be, "Let's first clarify what AA is."

"Uh, I don't know either," Jiang Hong admitted, "but there's a reason I'm asking."

Cao Bin said, "Let's start with the definition of a weapon or armament. I think what you're asking about is 'a combat tool made from materials collected from the external environment, with an offensive effect'."

"Exactly!" Jiang Hong said excitedly, "And it should be something that one person can control."

"Then we have to discuss the definition of 'one person'," Xiao Pi chimed in.

"You're enjoying this, aren't you, Pi?" Cao Bin said with a smile, then turned to the whiteboard and started writing, delineating two categories: technological weapons and spiritual weapons.

"Ah—" Jiang Hong and Xiao Pi both exclaimed in admiration, as it became very clear.

"Nuclear weapons are certainly powerful," Cao Bin continued, "but I believe that's not what you're asking about." He then classified spiritual weapons into two major categories: magical artifacts and weapons. The next step was to further subdivide within the weapons category.

"Divine Weaponry is a field of study," Cao Bin explained, "You'll start exploring it in your junior year, and you'll be given a book titled 'An Introduction to Spiritual Weapons'. More in-depth courses will be in the postgraduate phase."

Xiao Pi asked Jiang Hong, "Why are you asking about this?"

Jiang Hong replied, "I want to create a weapon."

Xiao Pi exclaimed, "Wow! For your own use?"

Jiang Hong answered, "No, for Lu Xiu."

Cao Bin immediately understood, continuing to categorize on the whiteboard while saying, "That's a great topic. For this semester's final, you could consider creating a weapon."

The first category on the whiteboard was "Divine Power Weapons."

"As the name suggests, divine power weapons inherit some of the power of the gods, powerful weapons bestowed upon mortals. However, these weapons have their own focuses, and many aren't just for destruction or killing."

    Next were various attribute-based weapons.

"I want to make a weapon too," Xiao Pi said.

After Cao Bin finished writing on the board, Xiao Pi and Jiang Hong started taking photos with their phones.

"So the definition of spiritual weapons in the inner world is quite different from the concept of 'weapons' in the outer world," Cao Bin explained, "There's no such thing as 'the most powerful'. For example, the six instruments of Acala are recognized as very powerful, but their primary purpose, or the motivation behind their creation, was to combat heavenly demons, so in some situations, they're even less suitable than the Golden Jiao Shears."

"Like the Wind God's Whip can summon hurricanes, but in certain situations, like ground combat, it's not as effective as Director Xuan Hezhi's Senluo Wanxiang Dual Swords."

Xiao Pi added, "Right, Senluo Wanxiang can control plants, but my dad rarely uses it."

"Such divine weapons should not be used lightly," Jiang Hong commented.

Xiao Pi said, "He says using it consumes too much energy, afraid he can't keep up with the nutrition needed."

    Jiang Hong: "..."

Jiang Hong asked, "Then, teacher, what do you think is the most powerful weapon? Or, which would be most suitable for Lu Xiu?"

Cao Bin sat down behind the bar and began drinking his coffee, replying, "Personally, I think... at present, the most powerful is indeed the Sword of Wisdom."

Xiao Pi asked, "The one the principal wields?"

"Yes," Cao Bin answered, "Among the Six Instruments of Acala, the Sword of Wisdom is the core, guarding human history for nearly six thousand years."

Jiang Hong recalled that during the time he was captured by demons in Chongqing, one of their important goals was to find out the whereabouts of the Sword of Wisdom.

"That Sword of Wisdom..." Jiang Hong wanted to ask where it was but held back, knowing that the enemy's interrogation must be about something significant, and Cao Bin couldn't answer. It was better not to ask recklessly.

However, what Cao Bin said next surprised Jiang Hong.

"There was a great battle ten years ago. After this battle, Xiang Cheng activated another artifact, the 'Eternal Wheel of Time' in the Demon Commission, which can reverse cause and effect. Activating this artifact requires a certain sacrifice, what we usually refer to as 'offering'."

    "Oh—"

"Among the Six Instruments of Acala, the Great Sun Golden Wheel, the Demon-Binding Rope, the Vajra Arrow, the Moon-Eating Bow, and the Demon-Subduing Pestle were all sacrificed and returned to the celestial veins," Cao Bin explained. "But the Sword of Wisdom remained in the mortal world, not taken away by Xiang Cheng."

Hearing this, Jiang Hong breathed a sigh of relief.

"When Xiang Cheng left this era," Cao Bin casually mentioned, "he sealed it in a special fissure using a unique spell, and retrieved two other artifacts from the celestial veins. He 'concealed' these artifacts, burying them in two places: Cangqiong University and the demon sanctuary."

"I don't know exactly how to summon them, but as long as demonic energy appears in these two places, they will manifest. Otherwise, nobody can find them, not even me."

Jiang Hong nodded, and Xiao Pi asked, "So if there's danger, will they automatically come to the principal?"

Cao Bin replied, "Apart from Xiang Cheng, only those recognized by them can temporarily use them. Even I can't. Certainly, there must be other exorcists who can command them, so don't worry too much."

Jiang Hong asked, "Is the Sword of Wisdom the nemesis of demons?"

"Yes," Cao Bin said, "so it is said."

"Then why can the Sword of Wisdom counteract demons?" Jiang Hong inquired.

"The common belief is that the sword possesses the powerful force of Acala," said Cao Bin. "But I think, in addition to that, it's also the strong faith bestowed upon it by generations of guardians and exorcists of this land over the long years."

Jiang Hong nodded, and Cao Bin asked, "Have you decided what kind of weapon you want to create?"

Jiang Hong replied, "I've thought about its appearance."

He wanted to create a beautiful, slender western sword for Lu Xiu, suitable for slashing and thrusting, but how to endow it with the power to break demons would require further thought.

"I want to create a sword too," Xiao Pi said.

Cao Bin suggested, "Let's start with the materials. I think there are many you can choose from."

Thus, Jiang Hong's final project for the Demon Exorcism Comprehensive class was set. First the materials, then the mold – these steps he had to learn himself, not part of Cao Bin's guidance. Only when it came to the actual forging of the sword, from this step onwards, would Cao Bin intervene, teaching him how to forge a cold weapon with magical properties, until the 'spirit infusion' step, which would require guidance from other instructors.

Before the class ended, Jiang Hong gathered a heap of materials. As Cao Bin was about to say goodbye, after Xiao Pi left, Jiang Hong suddenly said, "Teacher, I have another question to ask."

Cao Bin gestured for him to go ahead.

Jiang Hong shared his and Lu Xiu's thoughts over the past few days with Cao Bin.

"Inner demon," Cao Bin pondered, then said.

Jiang Hong hesitated, saying, "Maybe it's a bit presumptuous... but these days, I've been thinking about how to combat that impostor..."

"No," Cao Bin immediately said, "You're doing well, not overestimating yourself."

Cao Bin's expression grew serious. He pondered for a while and then explained, "It's a complex issue. Currently, I can't explain everything I know to you, but I will help you collect as much information as possible."

Jiang Hong felt immensely relieved and quickly thanked him. Cao Bin's willingness to help was more than he could ask for.

"You're welcome," Cao Bin said with a smile. "This is also my duty, after all, Lu Xiu is not fighting for himself against the enemy."

Today, Jiang Hong was somewhat afraid of encountering Lu Xiu, worried about his accelerated heartbeat because of that dream.

In the morning, he first went to the fencing club to measure the dimensions of Lu Xiu's western sword left there – the thickness of the handle, the size of the guard, the length of the blade, and the overall weight of the sword.

"What are you doing?" Suddenly, Lu Xiu's voice sounded behind him.

Jiang Hong was startled and, when he turned around, saw Lu Xiu staring at him with a puzzled look.

"Ah... I... I..." Jiang Hong's heart began to race, and he couldn't bring himself to look directly at Lu Xiu.

    Lu Xiu: "???"

Lu Xiu then performed a wall slam, pinning him against the wall, scrutinizing him for no apparent reason.

"I was just passing by and thought I'd take a look," Jiang Hong said. "I thought you would be here today, but why are you here?"

Lu Xiu: "So, did you think I was here or not?"

    Jiang Hong: "..."

Realizing the contradiction in his logic, Jiang Hong quickly changed the subject, "Aren't you supposed to be in class?"

"Just finished," Lu Xiu replied. "Why didn't you respond to my message? They told me you were here, so I came."

"Oh right," Jiang Hong glanced at the boys training around them, realizing someone must have informed Lu Xiu.

"Have you had breakfast?" Lu Xiu offered to take Jiang Hong for breakfast, but Jiang Hong had already eaten.

"What's your next class?" Lu Xiu asked.

"Exploration of the Inner World," Jiang Hong was still somewhat distracted.

    "Oh, then let's go."

Lu Xiu's gaze seemed to convey, "Why are you a bit off today?" But since Jiang Hong didn't speak up, Lu Xiu didn't press further.

Jiang Hong suddenly realized that Lu Xiu seemed more handsome than before. How did that happen?

The handsomeness of the past had an aggressive edge, but now it stirred an indescribable feeling in Jiang Hong's heart, as if tickling his soul, making him want to say something to Lu Xiu.

    Lu Xiu: “?”

    Jiang Hong: "..."

    "What are you looking at?"

    "Nothing."

"Is there something on my face?"

"No, no, just... do you want to come to class with me?"

"Yeah," Lu Xiu replied, "I don’t have classes this morning, but I have the first and second periods in the afternoon. Let's go see Professor Zhu Jinling."

Oh right! Jiang Hong suddenly remembered. The imposter Zhu Jinling had been dealt with, and the real teacher for Exploration of the Inner World had returned. Would there be any differences?

The class was full today, as nobody dared to skip Zhu Jinling's lectures. Jiang Hong and Lu Xiu, arriving last, could only sit in the back row. Zhu Jinling was already at the lectern, and last semester’s classmates turned to greet Jiang Hong.

Jiang Hong gave a slight wave and a bow, and then settled into a seat at the end of the last row.

By the window area, Jiang Hong's favorite spot was already taken by someone who was sleeping on the desk.

"Let's take attendance again," Zhu Jinling said, rubbing her hands with alcohol-based hand sanitizer, and began calling names.

Lu Xiu, sitting next to Jiang Hong, looked up at Zhu Jinling, observing her actions.

"He Jian," called out Zhu Jinling.

    "Present."

    "Lian Jiang."

    "Here."

Jiang Hong guessed that Zhu Jinling was calling names based on last semester's grade list, and sure enough, he was the third one called.

    "Pi Yunhao."

Xiao Pi, sitting with Lian Jiang, answered, and then Lian Jiang turned his head, giving Jiang Hong a suggestive wink. Jiang Hong could only facepalm, pretending not to see.

A message popped up on his phone, and Jiang Hong guessed it was from Lian Jiang.

[Where did you guys go that night? You left without saying anything.]

Jiang Hong initially wanted to reply "Had something to do," but then, thinking the best defense is a good offense, he whimsically replied: [Is that guy your boyfriend?]

Lian Jiang quickly responded: [No, just someone boring I met. Thinking about it now, he must have been a bar scammer.]

Jiang Hong understood, and a moment later, Lian Jiang sent another message: [Every day is so lonely, unlike you and Teacher Lu, who seem really good together.]

Jiang Hong wanted to reply "It's not like that," but suddenly Lu Xiu turned his head, looking towards him. Jiang Hong quickly turned off his phone, only to realize that Lu Xiu was not looking at him.

"Yuan Shiyu," Zhu Jinling called the last name, repeating, "Has Yuan Shiyu arrived?"

"Present," the boy sitting next to Jiang Hong by the window straightened up, seemingly very tired, and answered.

Yuan Shiyu? Jiang Hong hadn't even noticed his presence, wondering if he had started attending classes. It seemed he had been attending with everyone else before the holidays, but Jiang Hong hadn’t paid much attention to him.

There were three empty seats between him and Lu Xiu, but Lu Xiu only glanced at Yuan Shiyu momentarily, as if nothing had happened.

"Alright, let's start the class," said Zhu Jinling, noticing Lu Xiu, who hadn't been called, but didn't inquire further. "Today, we'll discuss this semester's topic: finding temporal and spatial rifts, and also resolving your doubts. Group leaders, please speak and share your progress."

The real Zhu Jinling was much gentler now, not as sharp and strict as before.

Messages started popping up in the group chat. Jiang Hong couldn't help but glance at Yuan Shiyu, but still participated in the brief discussion.

"Don't mind him," Lu Xiu suddenly said, "He's no longer our concern."

"What are you doing?" Jiang Hong asked curiously, noticing Lu Xiu had opened a notebook, the same one he had given him last time.

"Preparing for a lesson," Lu Xiu replied.

Jiang Hong leaned on the table, curiously observing Lu Xiu's lesson plan, whispering, "Are you a teacher now?"

"Yes," Lu Xiu glanced at him.

Jiang Hong sneakily observed Zhu Jinling, then shifted his attention back to Lu Xiu. Today, he particularly wanted to talk to Lu Xiu, anything would do, just to elicit a response from him; Jiang Hong found it amusing.

"Did your salary increase?" asked Jiang Hong.

    Lu Xiu: "?"

Lu Xiu gave Jiang Hong a curious look, as they had never discussed this topic before.

"There's an additional allowance. Why do you ask?" Lu Xiu pondered for a moment, then inquired, "Why are you asking this?"

Jiang Hong then asked, "How much money do you have?"

    Lu Xiu: "???"

"What do you want to buy? Send me the link."

"Can I buy anything, regardless of the price?"

    "Sure."

"You must have saved quite a bit, right?" Jiang Hong knew Lu Xiu rarely spent money on anything. But then again, his Kawasaki H2 was quite expensive.

Lu Xiu ignored him and started working on his lesson plan, casually scratching his ear with his long fingers.

"Let me scratch it for you," Jiang Hong leaned in close to Lu Xiu's ear.

"Stop it," Lu Xiu slightly furrowed his brows, grabbed Jiang Hong's hand with his left hand, and held it under the table.

    Jiang Hong: "!!!"

Jiang Hong's heart started racing again as Lu Xiu held his hand. What was happening? But it felt so good – Lu Xiu's palm was warm and soft, nothing like the ferocious beast's hand capable of throwing punches, slapping, or unleashing dragon chants...

Jiang Hong's fingers instinctively caressed Lu Xiu's, who then separated his fingers to intertwine them. Their fingers locked together, resting on Lu Xiu's thigh, and they just kept holding hands.

Jiang Hong's emotions were incredibly mixed. The last time they held hands like this was outside the Dazhao Temple, but it felt completely different now.

Lu Xiu's profile was so handsome. Jiang Hong observed his lips, unable to stop thinking about that dream. His lips must be so soft...

Lu Xiu, busy with his lesson planning and sensing Jiang Hong's distraction, suddenly put down his pen, used his right hand to flick Jiang Hong's forehead playfully.

Instantly brought back to reality, Jiang Hong looked up, withdrew his hand, and started taking notes seriously.

The group leaders reported their progress one by one. Most students hadn't done much and were struggling to respond to the check-up, but Zhu Jinling listened with a smile and didn’t reprimand anyone.

"Alright, I understand," Zhu Jinling commented after the last group, "Please continue working on your projects. By the next class, I want to see your plan and the specific progress made, in writing."

"Oh no—" everyone exploded in distress.

Jiang Hong now had even more to write. Although Zhu Jinling was back to her real self, she seemed to be stricter academically.

"Jiang Hong, please stay for a moment. And that... is that Lu Xiu?" Zhu Jinling, full of curiosity, said, "The student in the black T-shirt, please stay as well."

    Everyone: "???"

The class started whispering among themselves, sensing something was off. Xiao Pi chuckled, "That's Teacher Lu."

"Ah," Zhu Jinling instantly smiled, "I didn’t recognize you for a moment."

After class, Zhu Jinling stepped down from the podium and first shook hands with Lu Xiu, meeting again with unspoken understanding.

    Lu Xiu: "It's me."

Zhu Jinling, as if familiar with Lu Xiu, laughed, "Long time no see. You've become a teacher?"

"Yes, I have," Lu Xiu calmly replied.

"I haven’t had the chance to thank you, Jiang Hong," Zhu Jinling turned to Jiang Hong, "Everyone is very grateful to you for rescuing us from Yinghuo."

"Oh, it was nothing," Jiang Hong quickly said, "It's what I should do."

Zhu Jinling responded, "Professor Huoran and the other exorcists also asked me to convey their thanks. If there’s anything within our capabilities, anything we can help with, please feel free to ask."

Jiang Hong understood this as a promise from Zhu Jinling. They owed him a favor, a life-saving one at that, and would find a way to repay it someday.

Just wondering if this life-saving favor could affect the end-of-term exam grades...

Jiang Hong was startled and quickly turned around, withdrawing his hand and focusing on taking notes.

Zhu Jinling's expression seemed troubled, unsure of how to respond. Jiang Hong guessed she might need to keep it confidential or possibly was not fully aware herself, so he tactfully did not pursue the matter further.

"Teacher Lu," Zhu Jinling continued, "I reviewed some chat records and found that the 'Non-Me' entity had a close relationship with you. Is that true?"

Lu Xiu responded, "We got along fairly well."

Zhu Jinling nodded and asked, "Was there anything particularly notable about them?"

Not wanting to hear more, Jiang Hong left the classroom and waited outside for Lu Xiu to have lunch. After about half an hour, Lu Xiu finally emerged, the information exchanged with Zhu Jinling not particularly noteworthy. However, Zhu Jinling informed Lu Xiu of something important: very few people knew about Jiang Hong possessing the Book of All Things. Besides the four exorcists Jiang Hong rescued from the Qingyu Jintuan, only a few key figures like Chen Zhen, Cao Bin, and An Jie were aware, with even Keda in the dark about the book's existence.

The exorcist colleagues only knew that Jiang Hong had a black artifact resembling a long ruler.

Chen Zhen had specifically issued a gag order, instructing all those in the know to keep it confidential.

"The Demon Commission will send a master of artifacts," Lu Xiu mentioned, "to help you understand how to use the Book of All Things, possibly unraveling some mysteries."

"If it's that important, I should hand it over," Jiang Hong suggested, "I'm afraid I can’t protect it adequately."

Lu Xiu replied, "But Chen Zhen and Principal Cao insist that you keep it because artifacts and divine weapons, in a sense, choose their own masters."

Jiang Hong had no choice but to agree.

"Want to come to my dorm for a nap?" Lu Xiu checked the time; it was nearly one o'clock. Going back might disturb Jiang Hong's roommates.

"No... I think not," Jiang Hong felt tempted to sleep with Lu Xiu but felt it odd, especially after having that dream. "I'll find a place to sit for a while, I have classes in the afternoon."

Lu Xiu hummed in acknowledgment. Jiang Hong wondered if he would go back to his dorm, but Lu Xiu seemed to have no intention of leaving. After lunch, they walked together, and Jiang Hong found a spacious, shady lawn behind a teaching building to lie on.

Lu Xiu sat beside him, leaning against a tree. Jiang Hong moved closer, resting his head on Lu Xiu's lap, and took a nap.

"I'll be a bit busy these next few days," Lu Xiu told Jiang Hong.

    Jiang Hong asked, "Teaching classes?"

Lu Xiu replied, "Preparing for the school anniversary. I'll be busy for a few days and might not be able to accompany you every day."

Jiang Hong hummed in response, saying, "It's okay."

Jiang Hong felt that something was off everywhere today, perhaps because his heart rate was too high, like he had drunk Red Bull, yet he hadn't consumed much caffeine.

It wasn't until the afternoon classes and parting ways with Lu Xiu that he understood why.

Jiang Hong felt a subtle relief as he walked into the magical artifacts class, his heart rate gradually returning to normal.

Why? Why do I get so nervous when I'm with him? It never used to happen before!

The first class in the afternoon was Magical Artifacts, sparsely attended with most students still groggy from their naps.

Zhang Xiting whistled at Jiang Hong, signaling him to come sit over.

"You didn't return to the dorm at noon again," Zhang Xiting said.

"Yeah." Jiang Hong always felt inexplicably nervous when he was with Lu Xiu, but felt a bit empty inside when they were apart. He took out his phone, remembered Lu Xiu had afternoon classes and couldn't reply to messages, and put it away reluctantly.

The teacher arrived, but it wasn't Luo Peng, it was someone else.

The new teacher was a stranger to the class but familiar to Jiang Hong — they had spent twenty-four hours together, fighting for survival in the prison of Yinghuo: Huo Ran!

"Hello, everyone." Huo Ran was dressed today in a suit and shirt similar to Cao Bin's, with a silk vest over it, hair slicked back, looking sharp like a middle-aged gentleman. "Your Professor Luo Peng is temporarily away from school due to family matters, so I'll be taking over the Magical Artifacts class. Let's start with roll call... I see you, Jiang Hong?"

"Here," Jiang Hong said with a smile.

Lian Jiang in front turned back and glanced at Jiang Hong again.

Zhang Xiting yawned and asked, "Do you know what he is?"

"Is he from the demon tribe?" Jiang Hong asked curiously.

Zhang Xiting replied, "He's a type of demon known as a Huoguang Beast."

Jiang Hong nodded and took out his phone again, appearing somewhat distracted. He was still thinking about the dream he had until the afternoon.

"What's up?" Zhang Xiting noticed Jiang Hong constantly checking his chat history and casually ruffled his hair, saying, "You seem so distracted today."

"Uh," Jiang Hong quickly responded, "No, not really."

Jiang Hong grabbed Zhang Xiting's hand, and they tussled for a bit. Jiang Hong used a grappling technique taught by Cao Bin, and Zhang Xiting almost couldn't control him. Finally, with a clever move, he subdued Jiang Hong, locking his wrist and pulling his hand under the table onto his own lap.

Quite naturally, Zhang Xiting replicated the same action Lu Xiu had done that morning.

But Jiang Hong felt nothing unusual; from middle school to high school, and then to university, this kind of physical interaction was a standard way for boys to horse around in class. Eventually, Jiang Hong let Zhang Xiting win by spreading his fingers.

Jiang Hong then withdrew his hand and checked his phone again.

"Are you in a relationship?" Zhang Xiting asked. "Constantly checking your phone, there's only one possibility."

    Jiang Hong: "..."

You're too sharp. Jiang Hong thought to himself. Zhang Xiting always had an image of being sly and highly intelligent in his mind. No, I'm not in a relationship!

"I want to ask you something," Jiang Hong put away his phone and said seriously, "Brother."

"Call me 'Dad'," Zhang Xiting joked.

Jiang Hong replied, "Stop kidding." He lowered his voice and said, "This question is really weird, don't think... uh, it's not like that. I want to know, since your family's magic involves dreams, do you know the meanings of many dreams? Like, what does it mean to dream about kissing someone of the same sex?"

    Zhang Xiting: "?"

Jiang Hong said, "I mean, just dreaming... Does this mean I should perhaps..."

Zhang Xiting: "I've had such dreams too, it's nothing. So, are you worried about it?"

    Jiang Hong: "Ah?"

Zhang Xiting: "It's common for men to dream about kissing other men, and women to dream about kissing other women. It just means you're under a lot of stress from work or studies. I had a dream in my senior year of high school about kissing a boy, my desk mate."

"You are... straight, right?" Jiang Hong asked.

"Still am," Zhang Xiting pushed up his glasses, revealing a sly reflection, and replied, "Are you troubled by it? Who did you dream about kissing?"

Jiang Hong was too embarrassed to say, but Zhang Xiting just laughed, patted him, and said, "There's another reason; you two spend a lot of time together lately. You feel like you can share your stress and troubles with him, right?"

"Oh." Jiang Hong felt that this latter explanation was more acceptable to him.
