Aonte From here, we can see a new development.

Stepping out of the garganta, I took a deep breath of the familiar Karakura town’s air. Looking at the seemingly calm city, I couldn’t help but notice the unmistakable spiritual signature of Kurosaki Ichigo. It was like a huge beacon that was calling me and it was the most noticeable thing in the whole area. After all, by this point, he couldn’t control it and he was leaking it out like crazy.

But I had more important things to focus on. Ignoring the protagonist of this world, I consulted my memories and quickly recalled the layout of the city. Though there were some minor changes, it was still easy for me to follow the route to my former home, Sora's house.

“What happened?”

As I was jumping from roof to roof with my tail, the people exclaimed and looked around the cracking roofs. It seemed I needed to better control my strength if I didn’t want to draw any unwanted attention from any lurking monsters.

Finally, I arrived at my destination, a typical Japanese house painted yellow. I couldn’t help sentiments of resentment to come out, they had painted over the blue house that Sora loved with a different color.

Reigning in Sora’s feelings in my head, I searched for Orihime's signature but found nothing inside the house.

"She's not here," I muttered to myself.

Sora's will began to stir, his emotions triggered by the familiar surroundings. ‘She's forgotten about me.’ He lamented.

I pushed his emotions aside and focused on my task, searching the city for any trace of Orihime. I followed the routes she used to walk when she was younger, hoping to find a clue to her whereabouts.

After hours of practice, I had managed to control my power and the damage to the property was barely noticeable, at least to my eyes.

I was contemplating the fragility of human’s building when I spotted Orihime coming out of a store with a pair of grocery bags in her hands. Her hair was long, and her childlike smile was infectious.

“I got everything I need to try that banana and ketchup cake.” She said, humming as she tried to take steady steps under the weight of the bags.

‘She should only smile like that for me.’ Screamed the obsessed Sora’s inside my mind.

Seriously, this guy was getting more and more annoying since I got into the human world. Even worse now that I was near Orihime, the root of his obsession as hollow. I couldn't help but drop my smile and try to ignore him like I always did.

As I pondered over this, a yellow car zoomed past on the street, catching my attention. The driver's desperate cries echoed in the air as he careened towards the store.

"Get out of the way!" He screamed, his face a mask of tears and snot.

“What.” Orihime tried to react, but before she could move, I sprang into action.

Contorting my tail like a spring, I jumped in front of her just as a yellow car came careening down the street, the driver screaming in desperation. I barely had time to react, but my instincts took over.

With lightning-fast reflexes, two of my arms slammed into the car's left side, leaving two large holes as the driver was flung from the vehicle, which careened into a nearby wall. Meanwhile, my other two arms pushed Orihime lightly out of harm's way.

“Whaaa.” Orihime cried out in a weird, confused tone as she crumpled to the ground, her groceries scattering around her.

I quickly moved away from her, not wanting her to sense my presence and complicate things further.

“Quickly, someone call the ambulance.” Shouted a woman from inside the store.

People started to crowd around the scene, some checking the driver who seemed alive but was pretty battered. While others checked on Orihime. Who just tried to reassure them that she was only lightly hit.

Seeing the obvious bruises on Orihime’s belly and right leg, I couldn’t help but feel like the universe was trying to repeat what was supposed to happen in canon. Of course I didn’t believe in such a fatalist thing, but it was a big coincidence.

I was worried about my sister, she was injured and from what I was seeing, the paramedics would just bandage her and call it a day. I worried about her safety, knowing that someone could take advantage of her in this vulnerable state.

However, I needed to start my mission. The first step was simple enough, I just had to scare Ichigo Kurosaki a bit inside his house.

Omake: Little cupid

Renato Olvera, the fat Latin man, was happily eating his breakfast when Ikumi approached him.

"Here's some beer." Ikumi said with a light smile.

"Thanks," Renato said, taking the beer and popping it open.

As Renato and Ikumi chatted, a little boy who had been sitting at the table piped up. "So when are you gonna get married?"

Renato's immediate reaction was to choke on his steak, while Ikumi's eyes twitched in annoyance.

After much persuasion, the little boy left, leaving behind an awkward silence between Renato and Ikumi, who couldn't contain her anger any longer.

"What have you been teaching him?" She scolded Renato. "I won't marry a man who likes to disguise himself as someone else."

Renato’s face contorted. He regretted having told her such a half truth. He knew that he needed to come clean with her about his true identity, but he didn't know how to start.
