I sat alone in the barren wasteland of Hueco Mundo, looking at the burnt sand where there used to be a hollow corpse that I had absorbed.

The act of consuming hollows was disturbing. I could understand why most of us, hollows, lost ourselves to our base instincts.

The sensation of their hard, steel-like bodies grinding against my teeth was unpleasant, to say the least. What disturbed me the most was the thought that these hollows were once human souls.

The idea of consuming the souls of the deceased went against my morals, even if these were souls that had lost their way, their humanity ripped away and turned into monsters with only a thirst for power and destruction.

As I struggled to come to terms with my inner conflict, my hunger gnawed at me relentlessly. The pain of not satisfying it was unbearable, and I knew that I needed to consume more hollows to gain the strength to survive in this harsh world.

It was a cruel irony that the power I needed to survive came at the cost of consuming the very beings I despised.

But I had no choice. I was alone in this world, with only my sister's memory to keep me going. I needed to become stronger, to rise above the ranks of the hollows and ultimately join the most powerful beings in Hueco Mundo. I needed to protect myself and those I cared about to ensure that I would survive what was going to happen. The Quincy were a big threat.

It had been two months since I had arrived in Hueco Mundo. Eating hollows had become a part of my daily routine.

I could have run away, but then Orihime would be alone within the grasp of Aizen, and there was no way I was going to believe in canon. The timeline could change. Besides, the thought of one day reaching the top, of standing side by side with the most powerful beings, drove me forward, even as I struggled with the guilt and shame of my actions.

I had not reached my limit yet. Becoming a powerful Menos Grande, a Gillian, was still far away. That's why I had to push myself further. Challenges would help me to become even stronger. I had to continue to absorb and improve my strength, no matter how unpleasant the task may be.

‘Thump’

As I continued to ponder the unpleasantness of eating hollows, my thoughts were interrupted by the sound of heavy footsteps. My eyes widened as I looked at the enormous figure in front of me. Suddenly, there was a screeching sound as the hollow appeared in full view.

It was a kind of humanoid whale, its mask resembling such an animal, but looking like it had been dead for days on a beach. Its arms were thick while its legs were small. Its spiritual power was almost as big as mine, but it was slow, its legs barely carrying its weight.

Despite its intimidating size, I knew that I had to fight it. My hunger was almost unbearable, and I needed the power that killing it would give me. I could feel my body yearning for it, almost as if my hollow instinct was taking over. But at the same time, the knowledge that this hollow was once a human disturbed me deeply.

I took a deep breath and readied myself for battle. The hollow charged at me, and I quickly dodged its attack. Its movements were slow, and I was able to strike back with ease. I used all of my strength to deliver a powerful blow that hit the hollow right in its mask.

The hollow staggered, its heavy arms swinging. Its mask was cracked, and its movements had slowed even further.

Furious, the hollow charged at me with a deafening roar, causing the ground to tremble beneath me. With a deep breath, I evaded its attack and countered with a quick strike to its midsection. Although its movements were slow and lumbering, its thick arms still packed a heavy punch.

I dodged another blow and circled around the hollow, keeping a careful distance, my tail ready to rush forward. Its mask was grotesque, with a dull grayish tone and numerous cracks that ran across its surface.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, I struck once again, delivering a final blow that shattered its mask and ended its life.

I stood there for a moment, catching my breath and feeling the power coursing through my body. But at the same time, a feeling of guilt crept up on me. I ignored the feeling in my chest (which was weird because I had a hole there,) and got to work.

I needed the power and I had an unpleasant meal to eat.
