Chapter 231 Ultimatum (IV)

In the stillness of the night, Klaus and Sylvia sat in the sheltered pavilion. The atmosphere was a bit awkward, and Sylvia felt trapped in her thoughts. The recent events were still fresh in their minds.

When the silence became too long, Sylvia decided to break it. She asked gently, "Klaus, what's on your mind now?"

Klaus looked at Sylvia, his eyes reflecting doubt. However, he decided to speak openly, albeit cautiously. "Just a little problem."

Hearing the question, Sylvia raised one of her eyebrows. "Little problem?"

Then, Klaus explained what was on his mind, about his purpose in coming here to obtain the Elder Elf blood and the Superhuman Project, including the current situation of the elven village. He really told her everything and left no detail out.

Sylvia listened attentively, and it didn't take long for her to wrap her head around it.

"But that means we have to destroy the Tree of Life?"

Klaus took a deep breath before answering, "Yeah, and wiped out this whole village and its forest. Still, I feel like something is missing."

They fell into a moment of silence. Sylvia was lost in thought. In the rustling leaves, they both sank into their own thoughts until she finally remembered a question she had wanted to ask Klaus for a long time. This question might be the solution.

Biting her lip, Sylvia hesitated to bring it up. Summoning a bit of courage, she asked, "Klaus, can you resurrect the original High Queen from the dead? Like you did with me."

Of course, her question caught Klaus off guard. He was certain that he had never told Sylvia about his ability to bring someone back to life and had always tried to erase her memory of the incident. He couldn't possibly lie to her this time, and he could see that Sylvia already knew the truth.

Klaus then asked in return, "Sylvia, how did you know I brought you back from the dead?"

Sylvia pursed her lips, curiosity still evident in her eyes. "I remember vividly when that werewolf killed me. Before I closed my eyes, I was sure I was really dead. And then, I woke up suddenly, my hair changed, and I felt stronger. I felt like only you could do it."

Squinting his eyes, Klaus could see doubt in her face as she revealed her feelings. Klaus was sure that someone must have informed her about this fact. Justin couldn't have done it. This man was very loyal and trustworthy, even though he was naive.

But Klaus decided to set it aside for now. n--o/.v).e-/l((b-.1-(n

"The situation is a bit different," Klaus said suddenly, changing the subject. "The High Queen merged with the Tree of Life, which makes it impossible to perform a necromancy ritual on a tree. You need a medium to house the spirit. Even if you have the medium, what I need is her blood. So, resurrecting her is useless."

Sylvia nodded, accepting his explanation. Then, she furrowed her brow.

...

As the night grew late, Lauriel and Lord Aymon gathered in her private chamber. This hidden room was a place where they could speak freely without anyone overhearing.

Lauriel looked at Lord Aymon seriously, "I want to talk to you about Klaus. I already know his purpose for coming here. This man wants my mother's blood."

Lord Aymon heard Lauriel's explanation without appearing surprised. He responded camly, "What do you wish to do, your grace?"

"I want to get rid of him," Lauriel replied. "But he has very powerful abilities, [Dark Force] and [Anti-Life]."

Lord Aymon thought for a moment before suddenly kneeling. "Allow your servant to eliminate the man."

Turning to face him, Lauriel looked skeptical. "Are you sure you can do it, Aymon?"

Lord Aymon smiled confidently. "I'm sure. I've prepared myself for a situation like this. I possess a strong affinity with light. My light will drive away his darkness."

Lauriel pondered for a moment, realizing that this step might be the best for the safety of the forest and the lives within it.

"Very well. Do your best."

As Lauriel allowed Lord Aymon to leave, they suddenly heard applause coming from a corner of the room. They both turned to the sound, their eyes widening.

Shrouded in shadow, Klaus sat on a sofa, his face showing a sly smile as if he had heard their entire conversation. Lauriel and Lord Aymon were completely taken aback. None of them had realized his ghostly appearance.

"How did you get in here!" Lord Aymon exclaimed in panic, drawing his sword.

"Is that the first thing out of your mouth?" Klaus retorted.

Klaus slowly rose from his seat, and at the same time, he emitted a terrifying aura that shook the room. His sudden appearance made both of them tremble, even Lord Aymon, who had previously been confident about defeating Klaus, froze in fear.

Lauriel tried to remain calm, although her heart was pounding loudly. "Calm down, I can explain this."

Klaus smiled with an even wider grin. "I don't think there's anything to explain."

Lord Aymon attempted to overcome his fear and spoke firmly, "You won't succeed in anything you're planning to do here."

"Really?" Klaus replied, smiling with mystery.

Suddenly, he unleashed the [Dark Force], creating a circle of dark energy around him. The aura of darkness shook the entire room, leaving Lauriel and Lord Aymon feeling helpless in his presence.
