It wasn't weird for these nobles to have some dirty secrets or some weird and complex hobbies but still, something like this should be crossing that line, right?

After all, what kind of freaky existence would like to deal with something like this? Even though they were alien people, their features were still the same.

There wasn't much difference in their looks, or in their features, they seemed to be the same race, even though they belonged to two completely different worlds.

So, what they were watching was way over the line for them, even for the sly fatty, Marquess Dran this seemed to be a bit over the line.

Furthermore, since they were nobles, they had a lot of servants who would take care of their prisoners without them needing to watch a scene like this.

It was just too much about them!

Count Riva was also startled and shocked for a fleeting moment, but he managed to pull himself together rather quickly, as he said,

"This is hell I created in order to deal with those animals! The animals that tried to kill me, and harm my family!"

Now, this was brand new information about the other two, as they were both surprised and confused, after all, why would those guys do something like that?

And since they were still a bit shocked by the place, and situation where they were at the moment they weren't able to see the minute changes in Count Riva's expression and face.

Even Count Riva himself didn't expect such a scene, and despite his skills in acting, and his character, he wasn't able to immediately get a clear hand of this mess.

It was a good thing that his guests were even more shocked than he was himself, and it helped him recollect himself on the way, as he continued according to the plan.

Clearly, the two men in front of him wouldn't believe him that easily, after all, what was the benefit of those aliens doing something like this to Count Riva?

Certainly, the sly fatty couldn't let such an important point go unnoticed, as he asked with a confused tone,

"Why would they try such a thing on you, Count Riva?"

"They tried to bribe me, they told me they would make me the King if I helped them in their quest, but I didn't accept, so they dropped all pretenses and then decided to threaten me into joining them!

When I didn't yield even then, they tried to get rid of me and my family!"

Now, this was a good story, but it was really difficult to accept, and there was no way the fatty would accept such a story easily,

"Oh, and why didn't you accept Count Riva? Don't tell me it was because of your loyalty towards the King, and your love for our Kingdom!?"

"Of course not, even though I love Soulania and serve the King I am not such an emotional fool! The reason I didn't accept is precisely of what happened today!

While a prospective, and wealthy future is the wish of every man, he can't forget about his present! I am not such a fool as to think that the Kingdom is there for my grab.

There is no way I am going to risk my life without having sure proof of being able to win. I only play games when my win is certain!"

Even though that was exactly what he had done. He had gambled with his life and everything he had, and if it wasn't for that mysterious puppet, and its owner he would have already lost the bet.

But the two men in front of him didn't know about that, which meant that the whole situation depended on how he wanted to evolve.

As a matter of fact, his words seemed so straightforward that it seemed like there was no chance of them being a lie. Furthermore, Marquess Dran and his 'inquisitors' had truly arrived here.

This just made Marquess Dran even more furious and enraged at this situation though, because if it was truly as Count Riva was saying, then he had been played from the beginning.

There was no way something like that could happen, and especially to someone like him. It was just impossible. He refused to accept that he had been played for a fool all this time.

So, his only option was to try his best to uncover the lies of Count Riva, as he said,

"My, my, Count Riva don't you think you are going a little overboard with your words? After all, it seems like you are placing personal interests in front of the Kingdom's, and the King's interests!

Furthermore, why should we believe your story? You have no proof of it, and it could be just an escape for you, killing the chicken so you can hide the crime!"

He wasn't that wrong as that was exactly what Count Riva was doing, but he jumped the gun a bit early, as Count Riva said,

"Let us drop out pretenses here Marquess Dran, this is not the reason why I asked you to leave all your personnel outside!"

"What do you mean?"

"What I mean is that I have much more important things to talk to you about! Like for example, important information on the Alien forces, and their whereabouts at the moment!"

Marquess Dran wasn't able to believe his ears, as getting that sort of information was really difficult. These damn aliens would prefer death before giving in to them.

And those who did were just low-level scum that didn't have much information, to begin with, making everything useless.

But right now, Count Riva was telling him that he had managed to find out valuable information from some of these guys, and it was pretty high-scale information.

This was something that even he couldn't ignore, as he immediately asked with an agitated voice,

"Are you serious about this?"

"You think that I would joke with something like this when my head is on the line?"

He just let the two of them to process his words for a few moments, before continuing,

"If it weren't for this happening tonight, the next day I would have gone and given the information to his Majesty the King in person, but since you are here it means that they might have made their move."

"What are you trying to say?"

"Well, it wouldn't be weird that since they didn't manage to buy me out, they went to someone else who might have done so, and those guys to be behind all this.

I am just throwing assumptions here, but the information I have is just that important!"

His words did make sense, considering the situation, but the sly fatty wouldn't give in that easily.

Furthermore, if what Count Riva said was true, and he had important information on his hands, he couldn't let this chance escape his hands.

"What kind of information do you have then? Tell me and then I will make my unbiased judgment upon this case!"

Hearing those words Count Riva made a cold harrumph, as he said with a cold tone, but inside he was gloating because the fish had bit the bait,

"Hmph~! Do you think that I am that stupid as to give my safety card like that? Aren't you taking me for a fool Marquess Dran?"

"Very well then what conditions do you have Count Riva?"

"Pretty simple ones actually, we three will enter a temporary alliance against those aliens. We will work together to get rid of them!

Only when we have gotten rid of the last one of them, will we sit down to discuss our troubles at the time!

This is not the time for us to fight among us, and have our eyes behind our back, we need to seriously fight against them this time, or we will have to share our Soul Land with them until they take it from us."

Marquess Dran and the 2nd Prince were startled as they didn't expect him to propose something like this.

But thinking about it, if they joined hands, then there would be no one who would be able to oppose them in the Soulania Kingdom, they would be its de facto rulers.

"And how do you propose we make this real, Count Riva?"

"That's of course with a soul contract!"

To people of Soul Land, Soul Contracts had a much higher meaning than to the people from Earth, as they didn't only ask for possession of the soul, but also placed a curse upon it.

If the person did something that breached the contract then his root soul would get a curse which could only be lifted from the blood of the other damaged party.

But in most cases, they ended up dying, or suffering for as long as they were alive, and then taking their own lives when the pain became unbearable.

For that reason, they wouldn't usually enter into a Soul Contract easily, they would do so only when the risk was worth it, and in this case, none of them could negate that fact.

The two words, Soul Contract, had certainly shocked the 2nd Prince and Marquess Dran, as they were looking seriously towards Count Riva, but he didn't seem like he was joking, he was serious about it.

"Why should we believe you, Count Riva?"

"Because I am prepared to place it as a condition to offer my head if the information isn't as important as I claim it to be!"

Hearing that, the faces of the sly fatty, and the 2nd Prince were showing their genuine expression, they were both stunned, and dumbfounded at those words…
