The moment that shadow sprout out of nowhere Viscount Karne was scared for his life, as this was the first time that something like this happened to him.

Since he had been raised among his family, and nobility throughout all his life, he had never been through something frightening, or unexpected like this.

Furthermore, he was even more scared of dying earlier than his life force allowed, in fact, he didn't even want to die. Death scared the hell out of him.

So being faced with a situation like this, there was no way he wouldn't be terrified. He thought that the shadow was most probably some assassin sent by Count Riva to kill him.

His plan had already failed tonight, and not only hadn't he been able to kill Count Riva tonight, but he had also managed to create a powerful alliance with Marquess Dran, and the 2nd Prince.

From that moment on, there was no way he would be able to get in front of him from now on, in fact, he would have to lower his head, and never show his face again.

Lest that he wanted to remind Count Riva of his existence and then suffer the retribution from whatever he had done until now.

One thing was for sure in his mind, there was no way he would be able to get his revenge in this lifetime, everything was over.

It was at that point that the damn shadow appeared in front of him, scaring the shit out of him,

"Aggghhhhh, who are you fucker!? How do you dare to come in front of me unannounced!?"

The shadow didn't seem to be fazed by his words, as it approached closer and then said with a teasing tone,

"My, my I am really sorry Viscount Karne it wasn't my intention! It's just that I thought that I had finally found someone reliable to help me in my revenge!"

Viscount Karne didn't lower his guard in front of the shadow, but his tension and agitation were clearly eased off quite a bit, as it didn't seem like the puppet had any aggression intent towards him.

When there is danger in front, the small animals, and the most frightened ones are able to sense it faster than the others.

That was valid in this case too, with how frightened Viscount Karne was at this moment, his senses were at their peak, and he was probably the sharpest to sense danger at that moment.

But there was no danger in front of him. It was clear that the puppet in front of him had different goals, and hearing those words made him a bit surprised, and confused,

"What do you mean?"

"I am saying that we have a common enemy Viscount Karne, and I would like to collaborate with you to take our enemy down, in desperation."

Those words throw him even more out of line, as he asked immediately,

"Who is this enemy you are talking about?"

"Oh, come on Viscount Karne these useless tests are worthless in front of me! There is only one enemy we have in common, and that is that abomination of Count Riva Da Sal!"

When he said that name, a bit of killing intent seeped from the body of the puppet, which looked with some dangerous eyes in the direction that he had disappeared with the other two.

That killing intent and words clearly surprised Viscount Karne who hadn't expected something like this, but still despite his looks, he wasn't as stupid as to fall for that trick easily,

"What has he done to you, for you to hate him that much?"

"That abomination dared to kill my brother, and even betray me, after all the information I gave him. A lowlife traitor like him shouldn't live!"

It didn't look like the hatred coming from the puppet was fake, the puppet or to be more exact the owner of the puppet truly hated Count Riva, as much as he did.

The puppet in front of him was a Boundary Ascension Realm level 3, which made the person controlling the puppet someone of quite importance.

Making an alliance with someone like him would certainly be really helpful to him, but could he trust that person, that was another issue,

"Who are you? How do you propose we collaborate without introducing yourself? How can I believe you?"

"Who I am is of no importance Viscount Karne. Furthermore, I think that you are mistaking something right here, I said that I hate Count Riva and want to kill him, but I have no intention of fighting him.

I am saying that I hate him, and I want to see him dead! So, I am willing to help you if you still haven't given up on your hate, and enmity!

In case you have already lost all your courage to go against him, and have forgotten everything you and your family have suffered in all these times against him, and his family, then we can forget about it.

I will just disappear and pretend this never happened!"

This was completely off the track, as the game had completely changed for Viscount Karne, the ball was now on his court, and it depended on him.

What he couldn't forgive was the fact, that the damn puppet had questioned his courage, and manliness of continuing his enmity.

That burned even more for him because a moment ago he was truly thinking of putting all this to rest, and try to forget everything in shame.

This truly burned inside him, the blood inside his body was boiling like lava, he was angry, enraged, and furious at himself.

There was a stupid sense of pride and arrogance inside him, together with the enmity of so many years, and generations that he shouldn't forget easily.

The puppet's words made him remember his entire life, the only purpose and goal of his life had been revenge, and right now he was thinking of giving up on that revenge.

Wouldn't that make his life worthless? Didn't that mean he had lived for nothing up to now? Didn't that mean that his life had lost all meaning?

It was extremely infuriating, someone he had never seen in his life, some unknown guy, who didn't know anything about him, and had no idea about it, was judging him.

There was no way he was going to accept something like that easily, but his puppet wasn't there with him, as it had already been cut in two by Marquess Dran.

He was totally powerless in front of that puppet, which made him even more enraged than he already was.

He hated everything! His own powerlessness, this world, Marquess Dran, the 2nd Prince, everyone and everything.

In that burst of rage, hate, and anger, he couldn't help but release a loud and shattering scream,

"AAARRGGGHHHHHH~!"

Seeing his sorry, and shameful actions the puppet seemed to have received his answer, as it turned around and started walking from where he came from, towards the shadows.

Just as he was about to take the second step, he heard a screech from behind him,

"Where are you going? I didn't answer, did I?"

"Your sorry appearance just gave me the answer for you. Your pathetic self has forgotten about revenge, and I don't plan on wasting my time here!"

"Shut the hell up! I will never give up on my revenge! I will never shame my ancestors!"

"Oh, is that so? Then are you saying that you are willing to sell your soul to me, just to have that revenge you want?"

Hearing that, Viscount Karne suddenly hesitated, as his self-preservation instinct took control over him. He didn't want to die, after all, he wanted to bask in the glory of having killed his enemy.

Seeing that slight hesitation, the puppet started walking once again, as it said,

"There you have it, your resolve is pathetic! You have already given up on your revenge! Just go home, and never show your face again, insect!"

Those words were like petrol thrown to the flames, as Viscount Karnes anger, rage, and hate seemed to go beyond that limit, and he lost all reason, as he screamed,

"Damn it! I will, I will sell you my soul to have my revenge, just help me get my revenge!"

Hearing that the puppet turned around laughing out loud, as it looked towards him, and said,

"Hahah~! Well, this should be enough for a start! From now on you will be my new plaything, but I assure you that Count Riva will die in front of you! Haahaha~!"

The moment that Viscount Karne heard those words he felt a chill run down his back, but there was no turning back for him. He had already made his decision.

He was going to get his revenge, on all of those guys. He was going to make them all repent for treating him like this tonight.

Count Riva wasn't his only target anymore, Marquess Dran, and the 2nd Prince had just added themselves to the list, and on top of that this mysterious fu*cker.

He was going to show them all what it meant to underestimate and mock someone like him. They would suffer the retribution of their deeds and his anger.

They would curse the day they were born, and the mother who gave birth to them!

Certainly, as Viscount Riva was constructing these ideas in his mind, the master of the puppet close to him was having a dangerous glint in his eyes.

Controlling a fighter in a battle was certainly useful, and amazing, but it was still incomparable with controlling both of them…
