"There are some changes to dorms I wish to make. If that team is the one to defeat Salem, then we need to provide our young Mr. Arc with an opportunity to unite them," Ozpin said as he watched Jaune walk across the courtyard from the distance.
Jaune walked through the academy, he was smiling because he felt like he lifted a weight from his chest, now all he had to worry about was getting his future wife to fall for him, Jaune suddenly stopped in his tracks, "Oh man, what am I going to do about Pyrrha. Being popular does have its downsides. Imagine that, a popular Jaune Arc!"
Jaune had wondered into the Cafeteria and decided to get something to eat, after grabbing some around 5 pounds of steak, Jaune took his seat and started to eat.
He still had a half hour or so until he had to go to the team announcement, and in that time he started to think of a way to get his future weapons back.
In the future while he and Ruby were dating, they decided to design his new weapons together, in fact, because of their close relationship, Jaune ended up becoming just as big of a weapon fanatic as his wife.
His long sword was called Grimm's Bane, and his shield was called Save the Queen.
He pulled out a pen and piece of paper from his bag, he then started to work on his design while he was eating, he started with all of the stuff he would need to build them, the materials and their functions, he was also thinking about improving them.
He just finished drawing the shape of his sword the blade was 5.8 feet long, and 1.5 feet in width, the blade's cross-section was a broad-fuller type that had a deep groove running down its center.
The crossguard was in the shape of a King's Crown that had the Arc Family Crest engraved at a shield-shaped notch in the center of its golden surface, the handle was promptly 1.5 feet in length and was wrapped in a comfortable soft-polymer that surrounded the hilt's braid-like pattern, and at the very end of his sword was a single decorative pommel in the shape of a silver-rose.
He was about to start on his shield when Ruby appeared from behind and covered his eyes, "Guess who?"
Jaune smiled, "Only Ruby's hands could be so fair."
Ruby blushed and put her hands down, "Lucky guess."
Jaune laughed and turned his body around, "What can I help you with today?"
Ruby's eyes wandered around, she didn't know why she came running over, she just saw him and felt like she had to.
When she saw his paper she said, "What are you working on?"
Jaune pulled over his paper and said, "I'm working on my future weapons, Grimm's Bane, and Save the Queen."
Ruby looked at some of the notes and said, "Hey, these are pretty good!"
She sat down beside him and started going over his notes and designs, she noticed that there was an Ore written in it that she didn't recognize, "What's Arc Reactive Steel?"
Jaune smiled, "It's a metal that is highly reactive with Aura, you saw how I fight right?"
Ruby thought back to how his Aura surrounded his weapon in the shape of a larger sword, "So this new metal can handle the pressure of your Aura without strain?"
Jaune pulled out his sword and showed that it had even more cracks in it, "Crocea Mors can't take much more, the steel made from this is called Daimondnite Metal, it's as tough as diamonds and can cut through a lot. The melting point of this metal can attest to how tough the material is, it has more than twice the melting point of Tungston; 6,848°C."
Jaune then went back to sketching, "Arc Reactive Metal can not only handle being covered in Aura, but, it can even amplify the Aura that runs through it, creating a stable field around the weapon that can contain one's Aura, what you saw me using in battle earlier was me just wasting my energy. If I have Grimm's Bane, I can do the same thing but for a fraction of the cost. Which means that people that have less Aura than me will be able to do something similar."
"That sound's awesome! Wait, your sword is made of Diamondnite Metal! That's one of the rarest ores in existence! You could by a city with that!" Ruby shouted with stars in her eyes.
"My shield is made from it too." Jaune bragged.
"Cool!" Ruby said with stars in her eyes.
Jaune smiled before he let out a sigh, "The only problem is Arc Reactive Metal is kind of fragile, they wouldn't be much good on weapons, which is why they make better bullets."
"So why would you want to make a sword out of it?" Ruby asked.
Jaune then held up his sword, "If you use the Arc Metal as the swords spine, and have something like Daimondnite Metal for the blade, then..."
"You get a soft spine and hard blade, where is this Reactive Arc Metal? Can I have some?" Ruby asked with her puppy dog pout; that always managed to pull on Jaune's heartstrings.
"It doesn't exist yet, I kind of made this material by accident once," Jaune said while scratching his face, Ruby was blown away by his statement, "You made a new metal!"
Jaune laughed, "I know where I can get the Arc Reactive Ore, but it has to go through a certain process to be made. This is why its called A.R.M, Arc Reactive Metal. It's got my name in it."
Jaune was still hoping that his Semblance was the same; because without his Aura Ampflication, Jaune wouldn't be able to make the Arc Reactive Metal, at least not without some assistance from the one who built Penny.
Ruby looked a little down, Jaune sighed and said, "The moment I get a hold of the metal, I'll let you know."
Ruby smiled and gave Jaune a hug, "Thank you, Jaune!"
Jaune relished the feeling of his loved one holding him, the two started talking about his shield, Jaune quickly began drawing the shape of his shield, it was a few feet bigger than his current shield and was in the shape of a Kite shield.
On top of the shield, was a small Dust-Powered Jet Engine, the plating of the shield was pure white and looked very thick.
Two rotating 3-cylinder mini-chain-guns attached to the very front of the shield, the ammo feed was placed on the inside of the shield and could be filled up with a custom autoloader.
The shield was also capable of turning into three different modes, full-length gauntlet buckler, Kite Shield Mode, and Tower Shield Mode.
Ruby's eyes sparkled at Jaune's idea to make the shield attachable to Grimm's Bane, this way it becomes a Heavy Sword with Jet Propulsion and Chain Gun action, Jaune also made some full plate armor designs that he really couldn't make without Doctor. Geppe Otto's aid, it was made with the most advanced technology at Atlas, and only the one who built Penny could craft such a technologic armor.
"A transforming weapon is so cool!" Ruby said as she made some suggestions about how to lighten the shields weight, Jaune noticed that she was completely invading his space, she was sitting on her knees and leaning into his shoulder while writing down her ideas, she was even starting to hum.
Jaune smiled as he recognized the hum from a particular hero movie that he liked to watch, he remembered how she would do this in the future whenever she was at her enthralled with her hobby, Jaune was enjoying the moment when he heard a voice cough out from behind, "S~o Ruby this is the kind of guy you like?" Yang stood behind her and had a sly grin on her face.
Ruby looked at Jaune, realizing how close her face was to her, she jumped up, and placed her hood over her cherry red face, "My little Rose's face is as red a rose!" Yang said as if she were trying to pull off a joke.
"Man, that was terrible," Jaune said as if the joke caused him physical pain.
"Yeah, Yang, that was bad," Ruby said with a deadpan tone.
"Maybe you should give up the punching and just start fighting the Grimm with your jokes, it's probably w~a~y more lethal," Jaune said laughing under his breath.
Ruby placed her hands over her mouth and made a "Phft!" noise as she tried to stifle her laugh.
"Traitor!" Yang shouted at her sister.
"Sorry Yang, now that was funny," Ruby said as she kneeled down and started laughing, "That was for calling me a Vomit Knight," Jaune said as he stood up and started to walk away with an empty plate.
Yang laughed and said, "Okay, you get one of those, Jauny boy!"
Jaune shook his head and laughed, "Okay blondly."
"You're blond too!" Yang countered.
"But not a dumb one," Jaune said as he laughed.
Ruby started to keel over and laugh as well, Yang proceeded to put her sister in a headlock and gave her a squeeze, "How dare you, you traitor, he's not even your boyfriend and you're already taking his side."
Ruby's face lit up and she started to struggle against her sister, "He's just a friend Yang! Too tight Yang, too tight!" Ruby said acting like she was in pain.
Even though the just a friend comment stung, Jaune had to admit that he missed this, Yang, Ruby, and Jaune used to go back and forth all the time in this jokingly manner all the time, even more so, when he started dating Ruby.
She even called him out to train every day. "I don't think you're strong enough to protect my sister, so you be fighting with me until I approve." the words future Yang said echoed in his mind, along with the pain of her harsh training.
After putting his plate away, heard Yang say, "Oh, yeah, Ruby the announcement is starting."
Jaune turned his head as Ruby said, "Yay! I'm a Huntress now."
They all started to head towards the Auditorium and ended up standing behind a stage where Glynda was waiting for them.
She had everyone turn over their relic pieces and placed them in a machine, after waiting for a while, the teams were finally introduced, when it came time for the last two Ozpin gave Jaune a look and said, "Jaune Arc, Nora Valkyrie, Pyrrha Nikos, and Lei Ren. You four took the White Rook Pieces, from this day forth, you will be known as Team (JNPR) Juniper, and Jaune Arc will be its leader.
Jaune looked a bit confused, when he saw, Ruby look depressed as she hung her shoulders over, while Pyrrha look elated and threw her arms up, Weiss looked like someone had killed her dog, and Yang looked confused before she said, "I thought you said that the first person we see in the forest would be our partners for the next four years."
Ozpin smiled, "That is the first lesson you should learn as a Hunter or Huntress; when you accept the mission, you might not get what you signed up for."
[Author note: Was I the only one who thought it was weird that chess pieces played a part in making a team? It made what Ozpin said about meeting their team at first sight pointless. What would have happened if they got different pieces just like I wrote, so this was my plothole filler.]
Ozpin continued, "You may someday choose to accept a mission where the people lied to you about the danger level of the Grimm, will you continue on even knowing that you were lied to, or will you retreat and leave them to die?"
Everyone nodded at his explanation, Jaune especially because he knew the lies he was talking about, came from Ozpin himself, lies as they were, they were made to protect the people, instead it had the opposite effect, like coddled children, the news of Gods would cause mass panic, attracting countless Grimm, it was too late to go back now. "Maybe one day, if Grimm no longer exists, we can share the truth."
Ozpin waited for the noise to die down before continuing his announcement, "Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long, you all retrieved the white Knight pieces, together you form the team (RWBY) Ruby, and with Ruby as your leader."

It's got my name in it."Jaune was still hoping that his Semblance was the same; because without his Aura Ampflication, Jaune wouldn't be able to make the Arc Reactive Metal, at least not without some assistance from the one who built Penny.Ruby looked a little down, Jaune sighed and said, "The moment I get a hold of the metal, I'll let you know."Ruby smiled and gave Jaune a hug, "Thank you, Jaune!"Jaune relished the feeling of his loved one holding him, the two started talking about his shield, Jaune quickly began drawing the shape of his shield, it was a few feet bigger than his current shield and was in the shape of a Kite shield.On top of the shield, was a small Dust-Powered Jet Engine, the plating of the shield was pure white and looked very thick.Two rotating 3-cylinder mini-chain-guns attached to the very front of the shield, the ammo feed was placed on the inside of the shield and could be filled up with a custom autoloader.The shield was also capable of turning into three different modes, full-length gauntlet buckler, Kite Shield Mode, and Tower Shield Mode.Ruby's eyes sparkled at Jaune's idea to make the shield attachable to Grimm's Bane, this way it becomes a Heavy Sword with Jet Propulsion and Chain Gun action, Jaune also made some full plate armor designs that he really couldn't make without Doctor. Geppe Otto's aid, it was made with the most advanced technology at Atlas, and only the one who built Penny could craft such a technologic armor."A transforming weapon is so cool!" Ruby said as she made some suggestions about how to lighten the shields weight, Jaune noticed that she was completely invading his space, she was sitting on her knees and leaning into his shoulder while writing down her ideas, she was even starting to hum.Jaune smiled as he recognized the hum from a particular hero movie that he liked to watch, he remembered how she would do this in the future whenever she was at her enthralled with her hobby, Jaune was enjoying the moment when he heard a voice cough out from behind, "S~o Ruby this is the kind of guy you like?" Yang stood behind her and had a sly grin on her face.Ruby looked at Jaune, realizing how close her face was to her, she jumped up, and placed her hood over her cherry red face, "My little Rose's face is as red a rose!" Yang said as if she were trying to pull off a joke."Man, that was terrible," Jaune said as if the joke caused him physical pain."Yeah, Yang, that was bad," Ruby said with a deadpan tone."Maybe you should give up the punching and just start fighting the Grimm with your jokes, it's probably w~a~y more lethal," Jaune said laughing under his breath.Ruby placed her hands over her mouth and made a "Phft!" noise as she tried to stifle her laugh."Traitor!" Yang shouted at her sister."Sorry Yang, now that was funny," Ruby said as she kneeled down and started laughing, "That was for calling me a Vomit Knight," Jaune said as he stood up and started to walk away with an empty plate.Yang laughed and said, "Okay, you get one of those, Jauny boy!"Jaune shook his head and laughed, "Okay blondly.""You're blond too!" Yang countered."But not a dumb one," Jaune said as he laughed.Ruby started to keel over and laugh as well, Yang proceeded to put her sister in a headlock and gave her a squeeze, "How dare you, you traitor, he's not even your boyfriend and you're already taking his side."Ruby's face lit up and she started to struggle against her sister, "He's just a friend Yang! Too tight Yang, too tight!" Ruby said acting like she was in pain.Even though the just a friend comment stung, Jaune had to admit that he missed this, Yang, Ruby, and Jaune used to go back and forth all the time in this jokingly manner all the time, even more so, when he started dating Ruby.She even called him out to train every day. "I don't think you're strong enough to protect my sister, so you be fighting with me until I approve." the words future Yang said echoed in his mind, along with the pain of her harsh training.After putting his plate away, heard Yang say, "Oh, yeah, Ruby the announcement is starting."Jaune turned his head as Ruby said, "Yay! I'm a Huntress now."They all started to head towards the Auditorium and ended up standing behind a stage where Glynda was waiting for them.She had everyone turn over their relic pieces and placed them in a machine, after waiting for a while, the teams were finally introduced, when it came time for the last two Ozpin gave Jaune a look and said, "Jaune Arc, Nora Valkyrie, Pyrrha Nikos, and Lei Ren. You four took the White Rook Pieces, from this day forth, you will be known as Team JNPR Juniper, and Jaune Arc will be its leader.Jaune looked a bit confused, when he saw, Ruby look depressed as she hung her shoulders over, while Pyrrha look elated and threw her arms up, Weiss looked like someone had killed her dog, and Yang looked confused before she said, "I thought you said that the first person we see in the forest would be our partners for the next four years."Ozpin smiled, "That is the first lesson you should learn as a Hunter or Huntress; when you accept the mission, you might not get what you signed up for."Author note: Was I the only one who thought it was weird that chess pieces played a part in making a team? It made what Ozpin said about meeting their team at first sight pointless. What would have happened if they got different pieces just like I wrote, so this was my plothole filler.Ozpin continued, "You may someday choose to accept a mission where the people lied to you about the danger level of the Grimm, will you continue on even knowing that you were lied to, or will you retreat and leave them to die?"Everyone nodded at his explanation, Jaune especially because he knew the lies he was talking about, came from Ozpin himself, lies as they were, they were made to protect the people, instead it had the opposite effect, like coddled children, the news of Gods would cause mass panic, attracting countless Grimm, it was too late to go back now. "Maybe one day, if Grimm no longer exists, we can share the truth."Ozpin waited for the noise to die down before continuing his announcement, "Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long, you all retrieved the white Knight pieces, together you form the team RWBY Ruby, and with Ruby as your leader."
