In the morning, Mesa, Ruby and Yang were readying themselves for the initiation. Ruby was humming happily as she went to pick her weapon from the locker.
Mesa asked yang " Is it me or Ruby seems awfully chipper this morning?"
" Oh, who knows?" Yang replied
Ruby took her weapon out of the locker and said " Yep, No more awkward small talk or ' getting-to-know-you' stuff. Today, I get to let my sweetheart do the talking." as she finished she stroke her weapon and sighed happily.
" I'm not a fan of social acts. But even in my standards, your action is not healthy" Mesa says
" Your standards is to use your weapon only as a peeler!!! None does that !!!" Ruby replied with slight anger, she didn't like how Mesa didn't treat his weapon well.
" What can I say? I'm just unique " Mesa smirked
" Well Ruby, remember, you're not the only one going through the initiation. If you want to grow up, you're gonna have to meet new people and learn to work together." Yang advised
" You sound like dad! Okay. First of all, What does meeting new people have to with fighting? And secondly, I don't need people to help me grow up! I drink milk!" Ruby said in frustration.
" You need to know people when you form a team. If you want to avoid that, you must have the strength to do everything alone without the need of anyone help, you must be able to disregard other opinions and words and act upon your wishes without care. Simply put, you need to become a one-man-army removing anything stand in your path " Mesa said, his smirk still there.
Ruby stared dumbly at Mesa. His words confused her and even scared her for some reason. Even though, he said while smiling like a joke, she felt something is wrong. But couldn't point what it was.
" Okkaaay !! That felt dark. Well little sis, Maybe you should try being on a team with new people " Yang said
"My dear sister Yang, are you implying that you do not wish to be on the same team as me?" Ruby said narrowing her eyes.
"What? No! Of course I do! I just thought…. I don't know, maybe it would help you…. Break out of your shell " Yang replied nervously
"What the-? I don't need to 'break out of my shell'! That's absolutely -" Ruby was interrupted by a lost Jaune " Ridiculous! There's no way i put my gear locker 636 yesterday! I would've remembered having to count that high! Why does this have to happen today?"
Mesa blinked. [ Is Jaune's idiocy absolute facts that could never be changed? The interactions between everyone changed to some extent thanks to me. The only exception is this idiot. Everything he does exactly like in the show. I'm not sure if i should feel insulted with how my existence is so insignificant in front of him, Or feel sorry for him]
As Mesa was immersed in his thoughts, Jaune passed Weiss Schnee and Pyrrha Nikos as they were readying themselves at their locks.
Weiss asked pyrrha " So, Pyrrha, have you given any thought to whose team you'd like to be on? I'm sure everyone must be eager to unite with such a string, well-known individual such as yourself!"
"Hmm… I'm not quite sure. I was planning on letting the chips fall where they may." Pyrrha replied.
"Well… I was thinking maybe we could be on a team together" Weiss said hopefully
" Well, that sounds grand! " Pyrrha said
" Great!" Weiss was happy with Pyrrha's reply. She even started thinking about her great future with Pyrrha in her team. However, her trains of thought was cut short with Jaune appearing between her and Pyrrha
" You know what else is great? Me, Jaune Arc. Nice to meet " Said Jaune
" You again" said the irritated Weiss
" Nice to meet you, Jaune! " Pyrrha attempting to get Jaune attention.
" Yeah, Yeah" Jaune said and he pushed pyrrha to the side with his attention still given to Weiss " So, Weiss, couldn't help but overhear your fondness of me the other day."

" Don't worry! No need to be embarrassed! So, been hearing rumors about teams! I was thinking you and me would make a good one! What do you say?"
"Actually, I think the teams are comprised of four students each, so-" Pyrrha said trying to get Jaune attention. And she succeeded, Jaune turned toward here and said while trying to act cool " You don't say. Well, hot stuff, play your cards right and maybe you could join up with the winning team. "
" Good morning, Weiss, Jaune " Mesa joined the three with

" Did you complete preparing for the initiation? " Mesa asked them
" All cool. We were discussing teaming up " Jaune said happily

" She's won the Mistral Region Tournaments four years in a row. A new record. You could see her on the front of every Pumpkin Pete's Marshmallow Flakes Box" Mesa said to Jaune
Weiss nodded and looked at Jaune with disdain " So, after hearing all of this, do you really think you're in a position to ask her to be on you team?"
Jaune hung his head down, while Mesa said " Now, Now. Wiess. You don't need to be this hard on him. After all, we are here to be students. Some of us might have a better starting point than other, and that's it."
Now all the three looked at Mesa. He was friendly and nice. So they had a good impression of him. Especially Weiss considering his looks.
Mesa looked at Pyrrha and said " Miss Nikos, this is the first time we meet. My name is Uchiha Mesa. I heard alot about you 'the invisible girl' and I'm looking to have a spar with you."
Pyrrha looked at him and said " I would be glad to have a spar with you in the future". Pyrrha had really a good Mesa. He seemed nice person and didn't value reputation.
Weiss asked Mesa " Umm, Mesa, Would you like to join me and Pyrrha's team", she blushed a little when she finished asking.
[ I'm not planning to join any team. I will make sure to end the initiation without any partner ]. He didn't voice his thoughts or bother to lie. He simply spoke part of the truth " I'm afraid it doesn't work like that Weiss. Many people here don't know anyone. It won't be fair for them if the teams were pre made. So i believe there will be some random system to decide the teams"
Glynda voice rang out when Mesa finished talking " Would all first-year students please report to Beacon Cliff for initiation? Again, all first-year students report to Beacon Cliff immediately. "
" Here is our call. Let's get going " Mesa started walking. Weiss followed him while pyrrha smiled at Jaune again before saying " It was nice meeting you !"
Ruby and Yang came from the back. Yang looked at Jaune and said sarcastically " Things didn't go your way, lady killer ?"
" I don't understand. My dad said all women look for is confidence! Where did I go wrong?" said depressly
