People and corpses surrounded the person who had just screamed, lying in a pool of blood.

There were two deep blood holes in his neck, oozing blood, and his eyes widened in terror, as if they still held the horrifying images he saw before death.

Clearly, this was a player who had recently died.

Apart from the players on the same bus, no one knew how he died.

It was highly likely that these corpses discovered he wasn’t one of them.

One corpse grabbed his ankles and lifted him upside down; the remaining blood gushed out from the wound on his neck. Another corpse bound his feet and hung him from a tree, placing a wooden barrel beneath his head to collect the blood.

The bus was parked on the roadside near a dilapidated park behind the tree. The corpses scattered, seeming to wait until the blood drained completely from the person hanging on the tree before leaving.

The curly-haired followed a tall man with half of his face covered by hair, and Ning Su walked up to him.

He heard the curly-haired guy nervously whisper to the man, “You’re Zhao Kehan, right? I’ve seen you at the base. I’m Pang Yang from the Yinhua Guild. What’s going on in your bus? There’s only me in ours!”

Ning Su: “...”

Was he being polite?

He had been following along all this time, and this guy didn’t even acknowledge him as a person?

Ning Su: “You—uh—”

Both Pang Yang and Zhao Kehan immediately froze.

A bead of sweat dripped from the curly-haired guy’s forehead, and Zhao Kehan held his breath. They slowly turned to look at the source of the cold, stiff voice.

It was midnight, and the moon somewhere cast a layer of pale light.

Just like the complexion of the “person” in front of them.

His pale face, frozen expression, pitch black eyes, emitting a faint layer of inexplicable black mist.

He wore a loosely fitted white T-shirt with a large collar, from the pale and rugged collarbone to the slender neck, snaking with fine blood vessels.

The color indicated that he had been dead for a long time.

What was even more terrifying was the two children beside him.

Their wide-eyed stares were unsettling; at times, ghost children could be more frightening than adult ghosts. The combination of innocence in their eyes with an eerie presence could send shivers down one’s spine.

Moreover, these two children themselves were not normal.

One had asymmetrical facial features and incomplete fingers.

The other was wearing a white dress, holding a skull, with a hint of blood seeping from the pupils.

The curly-haired guy had already imagined the deaths of these three people.

The two children followed the older one, likely their older brother. When the parents were away, the high school student brother cooked for the younger siblings but forgot to turn off the gas, resulting in a tragedy.

The little brother must have helped with the cooking, so not only was he poisoned by gas, with one side of his face slightly discolored, but he also cut off his fingers while chopping vegetables.

The curly-haired guy’s face couldn’t help but reveal panic, as cold sweat dripped from his forehead.

Corpses shouldn’t sweat, right?

He would soon be discovered not to be a corpse, and they would eat them.

They then noticed someone with a deformed arm coming towards them, unsure if it was a player or a dead person.

If it was a player, they really wanted him to leave quickly.

Dead bodies had already noticed them; he shouldn’t come over. Did they have to be divided among three corpses?

“Ning Su.” The new guy whispered to the corpse, “What’s the situation in your bus?”

The two looked at him in horror. Wasn’t he about to self-destruct?

They were obviously corpses!

Were these three people so extreme that one even cut off his fingers and the other found a skull with colored contact lenses just to play dead temporarily in the bus?

Ning Su turned and asked him softly, “How do you know these two are players?”

Fang Qi: “I saw them in the game hall.”

The other two: “???”

Ning Su made a sound of acknowledgment. Indeed, before entering the game, some players who were about to enter the instance were gathered in front of the screen. He just rushed in and didn’t look carefully.

After a long time, the two players in a daze accepted the fact that one of the three was a person and the other two were props.

The four players sat in a place away from the group of corpses, discussing quietly.

“The person who died just now was on your bus, right? How did he die?” Curly-haired Pang Yang asked Zhao Kehan.

“Mmm.” Zhao Kehan responded quietly, “He was lying in bed, opened his eyes to see a terrifying corpse right next to his face, startled when he saw it, and let out a terrified scream. When he screamed in fear, the corpse grabbed his neck.”

Thinking about the two bloody holes on the player’s neck from earlier, they all knew how the player died.

The corpse’s fingers penetrated his neck.

Fang Qi said, “So, screaming, expressions of fear, could all make the corpse realize we’re different?”

Zhao Kehan, with an unpleasant expression, said, “It could also be the breathing because at that time, the corpse was very close to him and could feel his breath.”

The other two players fell silent.

This was too difficult; a living person couldn’t possibly not breathe.

Zhao Kehan said, “Don’t panic, I also breathed on the bus. It should be when they get close that they can find out. You can breathe at other times, but hold your breath when they approach.”

“The key is to predict which behaviors might expose us, that is, what behaviors living people have that corpses don’t.”

He’s good at getting to the point. Ning Su looked up at him.

Zhao Kehan noticed his gaze and said, “Forgot to introduce myself, Zhao Kehan, Hongyu Guild.”

Curly-haired guy said, “Pang Yang, Yinhua Guild.”

Fang Qi: “Fang Qi, Free Player.”

Ning Su: “Ning Su, Free Player.”

Knowing that Ning Su was a human, Pang Yang said, “Why do I feel like I’ve seen you somewhere?”

Zhao Kehan interrupted him, “Time is precious, now is not the time to discuss this. Let’s continue our previous discussion.”

Zhao Kehan said, “Based on what we know, fear, screaming, breathing, and I also thought of sweating, trembling, coughing, sneezing, laughter, crying, body temperature, heartbeat, drinking water, eating...”

Ning Su: “...”

If you couldn’t eat, was this still living?

Pang Yang: “Is this still human?”

Zhao Kehan retorted, “We are here not to be human!”

Fang Qi added, “Apart from eating and drinking, there’s also going to the bathroom.”

“...”

This question couldn’t be discussed in depth.

Zhao Kehan said, “With these presets, when facing them again, if there are any other reactions, think about whether corpses might have such reactions.”

The others nodded.

After addressing the current issue, Zhao Kehan led them into a discussion about the dungeon.

“We are currently pretending to be corpses, but this dungeon is called ‘Ghost Embodiment’. What are your thoughts?”

Fang Qi said, “The dungeon mission is to complete the path through the underworld. The fact that we’re walking the underworld is worth noting. Do you think we should follow along, witnessing the entire process from death to becoming a ghost in the underworld?”

The others were taken aback.
