“Um… This is my impression. Um, beautiful.”

I randomly picked a word from the swirling thoughts in my mind. However, it seemed that Kamian was not satisfied as he approached me slightly and cleared his throat.

“And?”

“Thanks to you, today has been truly comfortable.”

“Again.”

“…Thank you.”

“Every time I give a compliment, you keep thanking me.”

In the meantime, his hand grabbed mine. Kamian pulled my hand and placed it on his cheek. He tilted his head slightly towards my hand.

“While touching me like this.”

“……”

“Say, ‘Well done.'”

Really. It wasn’t really difficult. But I don’t know why I feel so embarrassed. I couldn’t bring myself to meet his red eyes that were directed at me, so I lowered my gaze. Although I opened my mouth thinking I should say something, my bewildered tongue couldn’t form a sentence and only made a strange whimpering sound.

“Liv.”

Kamian called my name softly. The gentle reverberation surged towards me like a rough tidal wave, engulfing me.

“Uh, uh. Yeah. It’s easy. Yes.”

I repeated the words ‘yes’ five times as if it were as simple as that. Even I could see that I was at a loss for words, but Kamian couldn’t possibly be unaware of it.

“Oh!”

The hand that was caught was pulled forward abruptly. It wasn’t pulled roughly, but my body jumped exaggeratedly. Kamian held my shoulders as I leaned into his embrace and pulled my clothes down to my shoulders with one hand. As the cool air touched my bare skin, my body trembled.

“With the full moon is approaching..”

His breath and voice gently brushed against my neck. The sensation was more chilling than being exposed to the sudden cold air, causing goosebumps to rise on my skin.

“You’re going to take a lot of blood.”

“…”

“I didn’t want to go that far, knowing how hard it is for you to resist…”

Kamian paused and straightened my clothes, interrupting his words. Why did the subject suddenly shift to the full moon? I couldn’t follow the context of this conversation. Understanding his thoughts was difficult, damn it.

I raised my head, not hiding my questioning gaze as I looked up at Kamian. His large hand cupped my cheek, and with his thumb, he wiped away the dry tears.

“You’re going to cry again.”

I suffered from the rapid flow of blood and the torment of repressed desires, yet Kamian seemed to act as if he were the one in pain.

Gazing at his face, I was captivated by a complex and subtle mix of emotions. I was undoubtedly the person who knew him better than anyone else, and yet I couldn’t help but wonder if I truly knew nothing about Kamian. He seemed simple enough to be unable to hide his own heart, yet there was an enigmatic side to him that I couldn’t fathom.

I held Kamian’s hand and pulled it down.

“Experience the full moon once or twice? It’s okay.”

I spoke as if it were of no consequence. Kamian responded with a bitter smile. Then, he messed up my hair with his large hand. When I stared at him without resistance, Kamian playfully held my cheeks and teased me.

“Look at the frustration written all over your face. You really look bad-tempered.”

I pushed his arm away and drew a circle in front of Kamian’s face with my index finger.

“You don’t have such a docile face either.”

“It’s a handsome face.”

“What bad luck.”

Kamian burst into laughter joyfully. Meanwhile, he started to comb through my messed-up hair. If he was going to tidy it up again anyway, why did he mess it up in the first place? I didn’t bother to let him know that I suffered because of such things. A little suffering was fine.

Secretly, I tucked away the sound of his refreshing laughter and the gentle touch in my mind. So that one day, when I longed for Kamian unbearably, I could retrieve them and cherish them.

As the morning sun rose, I set out to find Debra. She was nowhere to be found in the bedroom or the bathroom, so I dashed out into the yard without even bothering to put on a coat. Unfortunately, my impulsive departure caught the attention of Kamian, who grabbed me by the shoulder like a burden and ushered me back into the house.

Once I had dutifully adorned the outer garment offered by Kamian, I was able to venture outside once more. Debra was tending to the dead grass in the yard, meticulously tidying it up. I nestled myself closely beside her, crouching down.

“Debra,” I murmured softly.
