Day and night, it was nearly impossible to know the passage of time in the Time Chamber.

Sai opened his notepad and counted the scratches on the page. He then activated his gift Sour Apples, three yellow apples appeared in thin air and fell onto the pillow he prepared.

Sai added another scratch to the notepad. He counted 10 scratches and so rationalized that ten days have passed.

“In hindsight I should have brung a hourglass,” Sai mumbled as he picked up an apple. “My gift can be activated once a day. If I didn’t have that, I wouldn’t even know what day it is.”

After painstakingly eating the fruit of evil incarnated. Sai then said, “Blessing.”

Sai rose at a leisurely pace, taking his time to stretch his body before proceeding. Making his way to the bread maker, he confidently pressed a button, and with a sense of anticipation, he gently lifted the lid. A fresh batch of bread materialized within the confines of the metal container.

Sai took a bite out of the bread with great gusto. Next, he grabbed the Water Maker, a device resembling a thermostat, along with a metal cup. Sai undid the lid and he swiftly pressed a button, causing water to pour into the cup.

Quenching his thirst, Sai said, “Enchanted Items are so convenient. I wish this place had the internet though...”

During his ten-day experience in the Time Chamber, Sai organized the available food and carefully rationed it. Soon, he realized he had a tendency to eat when stressed, especially with the beef jerky and Toad Poison. He was going to have to do some dieting in the comming days which he wasn't looking forward to.

Over time, Sai developed a fondness for solitude. The greatest enemy that he faced was boredom. He kept himself motivated by doing different activities. Much like honing his skills in Poison Magic Arts, Swordsmanship, and Hand-to-hand Combat. The book on the subject was helpful and Slither was quite useful in explaining sections he didn’t grasp.
There was one particular skill that Sai yearned to master in the book titled "Cloud Steps."

Requiring the manipulation of mana, it granted the user the ability to tread upon air and soar through the skies. Unlike traditional spells, Cloud Steps relied on a specialized mana technique, necessitating rapid, high-speed rotations to achieve the remarkable feat of stepping upon the invisible currents of wind. Sai's desire to grasp this technique burned within him, driving him to unlock the secrets of the Cloud Steps and fulfill his dream of taking flight.

“Alright let's start practicing!” Sai said enthusiastically to pump himself up.

Sai rose to his feet, lifting his left foot and lowering it deliberately. With meticulous focus, he infused his mana through the soles, seeking to initiate the required rotation for the Cloud Step technique. Despite initial setbacks, his determination stayed firm. Sai persisted unwaveringly in his journey to master the Cloud Step. He then repeated the process with his right foot, though his unsuccessful attempts resembled a slow, deliberate march.

“You make me tired just watching you,” Slither said, resting on a loaf of bread he was using as a pillow. “Can’t you take a break?”

“I will soar like an eagle!” Sai chanted.

“The isolation is making him stir crazy....” Slither whispered.

Sai ignored the grumpy snake. The Cloud Step book was one of the three items that glowed golden.

‘There are three items that seem to glow. The Cloud Step book, The Slow Orb, and The previous Hero’s ring,’ Sai thought. ‘These items must be important to me.’

Sai had spent considerable effort in pouring mana into the previous hero ring with no reaction. He was hoping something would happen.

As for the Slow Orb, he decided he will use it to make an enchanted item. Next he will upgrade the Slow enchanted item into his Soul Armament.

Sai was a pretty busy guy. He hoped by the end of the month he would be walking on air.

Sai grinned and thought. ‘After all, soaring through his own power was a man's romance!’

While Sai was busy. Slither went to the bag with the beef jerky and started to swallow it whole.

“This is going to be a long 30 days,” Slither commented. Even the grumpy snake was missing the warmth and light from the sun.
