"Creak."

The sound of dried branches breaking by stomping rang out continuously in the forest. The knights’ leader felt something was wrong and he felt uneasy. The feeling only got stronger as he continued walking. 'How come the other knights aren’t here yet? Have they already entered the castle? No, that can’t be it. Something is wrong. Something is very wrong here.''

“Everyone stop.” The knight's leader suddenly raised his hand and the three knights who were accompanying him stopped at his order.

“Leader, what’s wrong?” One of the knights asked.

“Is there an enemy?” Another one asked.

"Captain, what happened?" The last one asked in respect.

The three of them clutched their swords in their hands and scanned the surroundings vigilantly with their backs to each other.

“Something’s wrong. We haven’t seen anyone else after all this time, so something must have definitely happened.” The knights’ leader said coldly, sweat started to form on his forehead. This was a situation he had never encountered before in any of his tasks.

“How is that even possible, captain? They would have sent out a signal if they got attacked. There hasn’t been any sound at all.” A knight said surely.

“Captain, you’re too paranoid. No one that powerful would stay here in this barren city.” Another one supported the previous knight's claim.

“Yeah. There wasn’t any abnormality along the way. Besides, this isn’t even a good place to set an ambush.”

All of the knights tried to convince their leader. They had never encountered any problems before under their captain, so they believed that it would be the same today. And Carter only targets weaker people than him.

The knights’ leader frowned. 'Am I really too paranoid? Even I can’t deal with them silently. They would definitely shout as long as they didn’t get killed in one strike. They weren’t weak, either, as all of them could last a few moves against me.'

“No, something is not right here.” The knight’s leader said. He trusted his gut feeling as it had saved him several times from the dangerous situation.

"Crack. Crack. Crack."

The sound of the dead branches being stepped on suddenly sounded in the dead silent night. 'Why is there a sudden sound? What does it mean? Is somebody following us or…'

The knights’ leader widened his eyes and looked in the direction of the castle. The appearance of the sound meant that the enemy had done it on purpose and was already very close to his position.

Dark clouds covered the moon, blocking moonlight and hindering their vision. The entire forest was covered by darkness. They can only see the light in the study room of the castle. The sound was loud and clear in the silent night. Each sound was louder than the previous one. The enemy was walking towards their location.

“Who’s there? Show yourself.” The knights’ leader shouted. His voice was sharp and loud echoing in the forest. But no answer came in reply to the captain's question.

“Who are you? And how dare you deceive us?” The knight's captain shouted again. Hoping any of his knights would reply but no answer came this time as well.

The knights had ugly expressions as their companions didn’t respond to the knights’ leader’s signal. The words spoken by the knight's captain were the signal for the other knights to gather in one place as soon as possible while answering the signal.

The sound of the branches cracking stopped suddenly. The dark clouds moved away from the moon and the moon lit the forest, revealing a single figure standing in front of them.

Mina's figure seemed to suddenly appear from the darkness. Mina wore a leather armor that Lucas had custom-made on Earth. The outside of the armor had scale-like steel pieces, making the armor look like a piece of art. It was made of special steel and was as good as the heavy infantry armor, but it was much lighter. It had cost Lucas a few hundred thousand dollars for the customisation. Lucas had to contact many people to be able to make this armor without raising any suspicion.

When Mina first got the armor, she was so excited that she wore the armor to sleep, and the next day when Lucas saw her she had dark circles under her eyes. If Lucas hadn’t persuaded her to take it off, she would have probably worn it for two or three days before finally collapsing from the lack of sleep. Lucas was only able to persuade her after he offered her a new type of dish to eat.

Mina's long hair was tied into an updo hairstyle, her purple eyes were full of killing intent and she said in a cold voice, “This path is off limits. You can't enter it.”

“Oh, it’s just a female beastkin. What, is there no one else left to guard the Baron?” The knights’ leader said, trying to provoke Mina and get information out of her. He recognized Mina and knew that the other party had been bought by Carter and his son to be locked in the dungeon. After all, the commoner who sold the female beastkin had been killed by him and he looted his copper coins. After all, Carter was a stingy man and he rarely rewarded him for his actions.

“This is the end for you.” Mina said. She slightly shook her hands and two military knives appeared in her hands. “I don’t know whether to say that you are lucky or unlucky to be able to reach this place.”

“What do you mean?” The knights’ leader said, clutching his longsword. He didn’t underestimate Mina as he knew that she had to be strong to dare to appear right in front of them. He also knew that when he first met her, she was severely weakened from the lack of food.

“What you just heard.” As soon as she said “heard”. Mina suddenly moved really fast from her place toward the knights. Mina ran in zigZag form. In the knight's eyes she looked like she disappeared from her previous place and appeared in different places.

“What? On your guard.” The knight's captain yelled.

“Not good. She’s too fast for it." One of the knights said nervously.

The knights’ eyes got dizzy as they tried to follow Mina’s movements. Mina got closer and closer, until all they saw was a pair of purple eyes in front of them standing very close.

"Clang. Slice. Whoosh. Kachak."

A black silhouette passed them, followed by the sound of steel colliding and the sound of a sharp weapon slicing through leather armor was heard in the next second.

Under the moonlight, Mina turned her back to the four. She shook off the blood on her military knife, and the four knights fell down one by one.

"Thud. Thud. Thud. Thud."

The mouth of the fallen knight's captain moved, and blood gushed out from his mouth. A muffled voice came out from the knight's captain's mouth.

“What a fast… sword…” And he died.

A line of blood appeared on four knight necks, and the knights’ captain had a hole in his chest, and blood spurted out from under the leather armor. Blood flows like a river from the bodies of knights. Mina just stood there while watching them with cold eyes.

Mina was worthy of the title of Ghost Walker, the four of them were killed in an instant. None of them had lasted more than one move against her.

“Only the royal knights are worthy to be my opponents.” The indifferent voice sounded, and the slender figure slowly stepped into the darkness. Even though she was usually very cute and well-behaved in front of Lucas, it was just that she restrained herself in front of him. But out here, she is the Ghost Walker who is a master of killing people.
