Chapter 35 – Potion Master Weir

Kasef, the Marquis of Lanling returned to his mansion just as the sky was getting light, with a soft smile on his delicate face indicating a good mood.

However, as soon as he entered the mansion, the steward greeted him with a mournful face and told him that the two giant sun elephants had gone berserk last night, breaking through the iron cage and killing over ten guards and servants.

Kasef’s heart jumped and he rushed into his own yard.

The Dark Soul Restriction had disappeared!

A sense of unease made Kasef tremble all over, and when he arrived at his bedroom door, he was too scared to push it open.

It wasn’t until he had a few thoughts in his head that he gritted his teeth and pushed the door open.

The scene before him made him furious and almost vomited blood.

The hidden cabinet behind the bookshelf was wide open, with over a dozen puppets lying in a pool of blood. But that wasn’t even the worst part; what frightened him even more was the pit that had been dug up on the floor.

“Damn it!” Kasef jumped into the pit, and when he reached the underground passage, his last hope was completely shattered.

He slumped down on the ground, stunned when he saw the gruesome corpse on the ground.

“My master is finished, and so am I. Who could have killed my master…” he murmured. He didn’t understand who could have been strong enough to directly grab the heart and brain of the powerful dark saint mage. Although Wutian had been severely injured in a battle with Nan Wuya and had fallen to the level of an earth-grade mage, he was still not easy to deal with.

After all, Kasef was not an ordinary person. He slowly drove away the fear in his heart and began to think calmly.

The Giant Sun creatures, Qi Bei, the mysterious person who made him retreat…

He connected these three things together. Could it have been Qi Bei who made the Giant Sun creatures go berserk? But Qi Bei’s strength was not enough to kill the Wutian, rescue Nan Wuya, and disappear without a trace.

There was another point. If it were someone from the Dream Sea, he would not have spared Kasef, who had betrayed his teacher and committed treason.

So, there was only one possibility that made sense: the mysterious person was likely after the same thing that Wutian was looking for. Moreover, this person might also be from the Dark camp. If he was not skilled in Dark magic, he could only destroy the Dark Soul Restriction by force, leaving traces behind. But the Dark Soul Restriction disappeared so completely that it must have been cracked, not destroyed.

After figuring this out, Kasef felt much better. He threw the puppets that had been cut off from their lower body into the underground passage and sealed it off.

The steward of the mansion stood nervously in front of the Marquis, wondering what the eccentric and ruthless marquis would do to him.

“What happened last night is not to be revealed half a word to the outside world, otherwise, this Marquis will chop you up and feed you to the dogs.” Kasef said in a dark voice.

“Yes…Master, those two giant sun elephants…” The steward nodded hastily, then murmured again.

Upon hearing about the Giant Sun symbol, Kasef’s eyes turned even colder, and the corners of his mouth twitched slightly as he said in a sinister tone, “Don’t worry about it. Finish things in the mansion first, then go to the Magic Tower and find Elder Weir. Tell him that I have urgent business with him.”

“Yes, my lord,” the steward dared not ask any further and immediately left.

The Magic Tower was the headquarters of the Golden Leaf Dynasty’s Mage Guild, and Elder Weir was a senior fire mage and also a potion master.

If it’s said that only one mage could be found among ten thousand ordinary people, then only one potion master could be found among ten thousand mages.

Even the lowest-level magic potions cost over ten thousand gold coins, and they are priceless because the demand is too high, but potion masters are too scarce.

A bottle of primary magic potion that can instantly increase a junior mage’s magic power by thirty percent, which is only for one-time use, costs fifty thousand gold coins.

A primary qi-enhancing pill that can instantly increase a novice warrior’s battle qi reserve by thirty percent, which is only for one-time use, costs twenty thousand gold coins.

If it’s a middle-level magic potion or a middle-level qi-enhancing pill, the price can easily go up by more than ten times.

Therefore, even though Elder Weir was only a senior mage, he was highly respected as one of the ten elders of the Magic Tower because he could refine middle-level potions. He wielded great power and had extensive connections, even the Emperor Han Mo had to show him respect.

However, it was rumored that Elder Weir always looked down on the Marquis of Lanling, who was known for his eccentricities. It was unclear why the Kasef would summon him now.

An hour later, Elder Weir arrived at the Marquis’ mansion.

Elder Weir was an old man with long beard, wearing a fiery mage robe and holding a gorgeous, fire-red magic wand. When his robe swayed, it looked like a flame burning fiercely, exuding a natural nobility.

Kasef personally greeted him, and the two went into the study.

“Is he dead?” Elder Weir turned around as soon as he entered the study and stared at Kasef.

“Yes,” Kasef nodded.

“Hahaha, that old man finally died. It’s so refreshing. I’m tired of his control.” Elder Weir laughed heartily, his face full of neurotic madness, and the well-maintained expression disappeared quickly.

Kasef fiddled with his hair and said nothing, just watching Elder Weir vent.

After a while, Elder Weir’s laughter subsided, but he began to cry, with snot and tears all over his beard, crying like a child.

Kasef sighed lightly, reached out and patted Elder Weir’s shoulder, and said, “Have you thought it through? Even though that old man is dead, we have already fallen into darkness and can’t turn back. The nether mark on our bodies can never be eliminated, even if we die.”

Elder Weir used his magic wand to push Kasef’s hand away with a disgusted expression, wiped away his snot and tears, and restored his composure. He said coldly, “Why did you call me here?”

“Weir, we are on the same boat now. If the boat capsizes, I won’t have a good ending, and you, as the elder of the Magic Tower, will also become a disgrace. To be frank with you, a powerful person broke in last night and killed that old man. I suspect that the intruder is also from the Dark Camp,” said Kasef calmly, implying a threat.

Weir’s neck veins bulged, and it took him a while before he coldly snorted, “What do you want me to do?”

“It’s a small matter for you. Go and see what kind of medicine has been applied to the two trapped giant sun elephants,” Kasef said. Previously, he saw the sneering smile on Qi Bei’s lips and he had to figure out whether this matter was related to the Nord family.

Weir carefully examined the two giant sun elephants that were trapped and unable to move. His brow furrowed, and he whispered to the Marquis, “It’s a stimulating magic medicine with a dark aura.”

Kasef breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed that it had nothing to do with the Nord family, but rather, as he had expected, it was the work of a powerful person from the Dark Camp. Perhaps in the eyes of such a strong person, he was just a tiny ant, not worth the effort to deal with. Therefore, he didn’t have to run for his life anymore and could continue to be the Marquis of Lanling and an official disciple of the Dream Sea Holy Land. His future was still bright.
