The two arrived at the mansion an hour later when the gloomy skies started drizzling.
Liu Yang looked at the big European house that looks more like a palace up ahead and felt an overwhelming feeling looming inside her heart.
"Stay here first," Guan admonished and gets out of the car.
Through the rain, he ran his way at the porch to meet a man in uniform to get an umbrella. Based on what he's wearing, Liu Yang reckoned it might be a servant.
Guan strode back with an umbrella in hand, sheltering him from the rain, and opened the car door for her. As they stood right next to each other, he simply puts his arm over her shoulders like he had done it a thousand times.
Liu Yang quivered and pulled away from his embrace – giving space between them – exposing a part of her shoulder from the rain. Guan noticed this and pulled her closer to him instead.
"You'll get wet and might catch a cold," he said in a domineering tone but with a glint of concern.
They walked their way inside when Guan whispered into her ear, "Don't be afraid, I'm here."
He tightened his grip on her shoulders that sent shivers down her spine.
Liu Yang could not explain this feeling but his presence gave her a sense of security that she had never felt before towards any man; not even to Li Jun and Xu Wan Li.
Inside the house.
Su Bin was strutting his way out of the kitchen with a can of beer in hand when Choi Minjun saw him.
"Su Bin! What do you think you are doing? It's too early for that. Put it away right now!" she reprimanded her nephew.
He choked on his drink and felt a stinging pain inside his nose. Su Bin sniffed while dabbing napkin on his wet face before whining, "But Auntie I have nothing to do! I'm bored and Guan's still not here."
"Just watch some TV and eat some fruits. That's healthier than drinking a beer. And you can't bother Guan anymore because he already has a girlfriend. Maybe you should start finding yourself a girlfriend to keep you busy."
Choi Minjun lectured him and snatched the can of beer from his clutch. She even pushed him out of the kitchen and closed the door.
"Fuck!" Su Bin could only curse to himself as he stomped his feet towards the living room.
In the living room, Guan Qing and Min Chu were sitting on the couch with a plate of peeled oranges. The two are being sweet with each other, with Guan Qing gradually feeding his wife.
Su Bin took an orange from the table and peeled it himself. He lazily slumped his body onto the single-sitter sofa, stuffing himself with the orange, when he heard the couple snicker.
He looked at the TV if the show was something hilarious only to find out it was about the weather forecast with the volume turned down.
Su Bin immediately pulled a long face. Truth be told they probably heard Choi Minjun a while ago and are now laughing at his misfortune.
He turned his head towards them and glared. The couple tried to put on a straight face without looking at him but failed.
He even saw that Guan Qing whispered something to Min Chu that made the two of them laugh at the same time.
"Darling, stop it," Min Chu said in between her laughter.
Su Bin rolled his eyes and ignored them. He thought, 'Whatever. Time will come and I'll be able to flaunt Yu Mei to everyone, soon.'
"The Second Young Master has arrived."
The door to the kitchen opened abruptly, revealing Choi Minjun's excited and joyous face.
Liu Yang and Guan arrived at the living with Guan's arms still on her shoulders.
Choi Minjun sauntered towards them and kissed Liu Yang's cheeks and even her hands tightly while smiling brightly at her. This made the latter quite astonished.
"Welcome to our home."
"Thank you, Mrs. Niu," Liu Yang's voice trembled and even forced her smile.
The old madam noticed this so, she decided to turn to her son. "Guan, you two have a seat first. I'll order the kitchen to serve the dishes. You must be starving."
