The police surrounded the lion and tiger facility. The SWAT team, who arrived later, found a suitable sniping position in the grassy area, but the captain of the public security team who was in charge of the scene didn’t dare to rashly give orders.

The tiger and the people were too close.

The captain of the public security team asked the leader of the SWAT team whether they were 100% certain that they could kill the tiger with one shot at this distance.

The SWAT team leader affirmed that they could.

The captain was still hesitating. He then asked, “What about using tranquilizers?”

The SWAT member stared at him and coldly said, “An intramuscular injection of tranquilizers takes at least ten minutes to take effect.”

The captain fell silent.

Xincheng Zoo has always been their city’s major source of income. The relationship between the zoo and the local police was quite good, so when the zoo reported to the police about the tiger escaping, they also exchanged greetings with the director and requested them to not hurt the tiger unless they had no other options.

The sniper lying in ambush aimed at the tiger’s forehead and asked whether to shoot or not.

The captain looked up. The tiger was pacing back and forth in front of the trapped teacher and students, but its mood seemed stable. The captain waved a hand and warned not to be impatient. This was an important matter, so he wanted to ask the leaders first for instructions.

Meanwhile, Cai Youyang was arguing with the zoo management. His voice had a low timbre, but he was furious. “You can’t delay any longer!” He had never been this unyielding before.

The personnel in charge said, “Please don’t get too agitated. Otherwise, I’ll have to request that you leave.”

Cai Youyang retorted, “A tiger is very expensive? But a human life is priceless. You all don’t seem to realize the severity of this situation.”

Tone filled with anger, the personnel in charge said, “Of course we take human lives seriously! But can you guarantee that the sniper can kill in one shot? If he can’t, then there’s a risk of angering the tiger. If that happens, then forget those people trapped inside, even we won’t be able to run away.”

The SWAT team’s leader, who had been puzzled over the long delay, heard the personnel’s words. They couldn’t do a surefire kill at a distance of 100 meters? That would really be a joke. Fortunately, they were far from the grassy area, so the sniper didn’t hear it. Otherwise, he would definitely fight it out with the zoo personnel.

“So right now, we’re not 100% certain,” said Cai Youyang. “Then do we have to wait even longer? In my opinion, the longer we wait, the more impatient the tiger will get, so we should make a quick decision at this moment.”

The personnel still wanted to refute, but Cai Youyang stopped him. “I’m not talking with you anymore. I’ll go talk to the captain myself.”

The captain was speaking on the phone. He should be asking for instructions from the “leaders above”.

“Will he pay attention to you?” The personnel sneered and motioned for the staff members to come. “This man is disrupting our rescue operations. Bring him out.”

“You’ll regret it,” said Cai Youyang.

The personnel flashed a smile. Several staff members reluctantly stepped forward and made a sweeping gesture away from Cai Youyang.

Cai Youyang clenched his fists. He was useless here, so he wanted to go out and call Lu Feng to see if he could come and put pressure on the police on scene. When the personnel saw him turn and leave, he thought that he had already compromised. He stopped paying attention to him and focused on the tiger.

How could they “save” the tiger? thought the personnel in charge.

After a few minutes of consideration and discussion, the situation worsened. The tiger began swinging its tail in larger arcs and licking its teeth. A deep growl was also rumbling within its throat.

At this time, the zoo was still suggesting methods like luring the tiger with food to attempt to move it away from the trapped teachers and students before knocking the tiger out.

The zookeeper for the lion said, “It’s exhibiting intentions of hunting. Right now, the chances of successfully luring it away or coaxing it are very low.”

The zoo approached the captain and requested to “come up with other methods”.

And so the captain once again sought the SWAT team’s leader. “Is there a way to resolve the situation?”

The SWAT team leader said, “My team members and I know of one. All it takes is just one shot…”

The captain waved a hand. “It’s simple to shoot it in the head. But is there a way to satisfy both sides?”

The SWAT leader replied, “This is not within the scope of my work.” He glanced in the direction of the tiger, and his eyebrows fiercely flinched. Afterward, he no longer wanted to hear the captain’s wrangling. He picked up his walkie-talkie and calmly said, “Ready.”

The captain’s facial expression slightly changed. He sensed something wrong in the SWAT team’s leader’s eyes. However, he was only the little team leader of a SWAT team. Would he dare disregard his face? Although he was from the police station, it wasn’t like the police station had no intersection with the Public Security Bureau.

The SWAT team’s leader knew that their lives would likely become more difficult once they got back. But he didn’t care. Worst case scenario, he’d just take off his hat and quit! To be honest, he no longer wanted to do this since long ago. As members of a SWAT team, they were dispatched everywhere, and others regarded them as violent machines.

The captain said, “Little comrade, you…”

Impatient, the SWAT team leader pushed the police captain away. “Still want your life? Scram out of here!”

Captain He Yue’s expression instantly grew sullen. “Fuck you!”

“How’s the situation?” a voice chimed in out of nowhere.

The two angry people turned their heads at the same time. When they saw who the newcomer was, they were both stunned. The SWAT team leader quickly saluted and said, “Captain Lu, why are you here?”

Lu Feng shot the police captain a glance, who forced out a smile and said, “Captain Lu?”

Lu Feng ignored him and gazed at the tiger. The tiger had already turned around, facing the trapped teacher and students with its back toward them. Although it still maintained a considerable distance and no sound could be heard from it, this change in posture could already be viewed as a bad turn of events.

The snipers stealthily got up. Three snipers adjusted themselves to the best shooting position without disturbing the tiger.

Lu Feng nodded to the SWAT team leader. The captain wanted to say something, but he was shaken by Lu Feng’s gaze and didn’t dare speak.

The tiger roared at the trapped teacher and students and tensed its muscles, preparing to jump. The timid students’ faces turned red, but they remembered their teacher’s instructions and didn’t dare to cry or make a sound. The bold students’ eyes were wide open, and their bodies were trembling like a sieve, but they wanted to put on an imposing air to scare the tiger away.

At the same time, the SWAT team leader issued a command to kill the tiger.

When the tiger jumped, three shots sounded at the same time!

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The last things that the tiger saw were the children’s pale faces and Teacher Wu’s fearless gaze.
