She obviously has forgotten the fact that her only daughter would get married in less than four months. In her eyes right now, her daughter was still small and needed to be instructed all the time or she would choose the wrong path. What if her

Ryn scooted closer to Jeremy, still feeling uncomfortable. Could they just leave this place? They could return once these two women were done with their excitement.

"It's okay, babe," he coaxed, patting her hand comfortingly. He was shocked too but in order to be the knight in Ryn's eyes, he pretended not to be bothered with his mother's weird behaviour.

"Mother, can you stop giving us those weird blinking eyes look?" he told his mother.

"What did I do? Ryn, dear, are you scared?" Mrs Long looked at the younger woman with her puppy eyes.

Ryn looked at Jeremy for help. She did not like being stuck in this kind of situation. She did not like being asked and give that kind of look by them. Why couldn't they just treat her like they used to?

No wonder she was so reluctant to reveal their relationship!

"Mother, stop giving that look. Mika, stop pulling your face," Jeremy decided to take charge of the situation and spoke out.

Both Mika and their mother shared a look before sticking their tongue out at the same time at Jeremy. They found that this Jeremy was being jealous over them. How couldn't he? Ryn was so close to them and would tell them anything.

Hmph…

Jeremy rubbed his nape awkwardly. Although he knew and used to Mika being childish but right now his mother was acting childish as well. This was embarrassing.

He glanced at Ryn but he saw her putting a mask on her face, made it hard for him to understand what was in her mind right now. She was looking so serene as if nothing was wrong right now.

"Anyway, I thought you want me to bring Ryn here for the bridesmaid dress fitting?" he quickly pulled their attention to the reason why Ryn came here.

"Oh yes. You just remind me," Mika slapped her face with her hands. She actually forgot about it once she saw Ryn coming. She did tell Jeremy to pick Ryn up for the fitting while she handled grandma at home.

"Dress fitting?" Mrs Long's eyes brightened up at the thought. Her daughter's wedding was getting closer. Of course, she needed to be involved with the fitting too. She could not let her childish daughter ruining the wedding by going against the theme.

Jeremy watched as his mother went along with them. He cocked an eyebrow. He knew his appearance was not needed in that room. It was better for him to continue with his work. It was better doing something productive while waiting. He went back to his room after telling the butler to make coffee for him. He needed all the caffeine to keep his focus.

He entered his room and sat on the chair. His computer was still lit up but in sleepy mode. So he simply logged in back and found more emails to read. He sighed heavily. When would this busy life end?

He cracked his neck and his hands before starting to start working. Later, he would check on Ryn. Of course, he wanted to see her in the bridesmaid dress but knowing Mika, it would only be revealed on the day of the wedding, just like her wedding gown. No one except for Ryn and her mother could see it.

Back to the ladies' side. Mika locked the door once they entered it. And then, she urged for her mother and Ryn to take a sit before she reached for the carefully wrapped dress hanging on the cloth rack. She carefully revealed the dress, smiling widely hearing the gasp from her viewers.

"So beautiful. Is this for Ryn?" her mother asked, already jumping to her feet and touching the pink dress.

"Hmm… it's a princess cut. I used mother of pearl to replace the zip. It's not too much, suitable for Ryn's personality. Clean cut," Mika explained as she showed off the back first. Then, she slowly turned it to the front to show off her hard work. She personally sewed and stitched everything. Of course, she was proud of the result.

"Why don't you try it, dear? I want to see it," Mrs Long asked Ryn who was still stunned seeing the dress.

"Ryn?" Mika asked. Now the excitement dimmed from her eyes when she realized her best friend did not utter any word since the moment she revealed the dress. Did Ryn hate it?

Her eyes started to get wet with tears as she sank her teeth into her bottom lip. Was she wrong?

"Oh, Mika, what's wrong? Why are you crying?" Ryn asked as she pulled her crying best friend into her arms.

"You hate it. I know you hate the dress. What did I do wrong?" Mika wailed.

Ryn looked at Mrs Long with confusion in her eyes. When did she say that? How on earth did Mika end up having that conclusion? How could she be so silly?

Mrs Long shrugged. She noticed that as the wedding date getting closer, Mika was getting more and more nervous and would actually burst out into tears suddenly. So far only Jason could control her extra sensitive feeling. She and her mother-in-law refused to bow into her childish tantrum in order to ensure the wedding would be proper and without any problem.

Besides, what does a kid know about a formal wedding ceremony? If they followed Mika's whim, she would do it with only them during the ceremony. She did not even want to invite their business partners and all of their important friends and clients. Mika also did not want to invite their other relatives, crying it was her wedding and she did not even know them that well, which was unacceptable.

If she did not know them, she could interact to know them better. And when would the suitable time be if not during the wedding?

Mika should learn from dear Catherine. Even though the young lady could be quiet when no one was speaking to her but she knew how to carry herself in the public. She could control her emotion and manage to communicate with anyone, even to strangers. And the wedding would be the right time for her to introduce Ryn formally to the relatives, Mrs Long decided.

Not only she could announce Ryn as her daughter-in-law, but she could also stop those people who were thinking of joining her small family through Jeremy. She did not like any weird bad complot to get into the family, any business-related proposition when all she wanted was the happiness of her children. She would not let her children to be married off for the sake of business. No matter what people think or say, her family, the Long, only marry for love. Even her mother-in-law agreed with her. Despite the seriousness and very dragonish-like treatment from the dowager, she knew her mother-in-law accepted her for who she was. Well, especially after she gave birth to little Mika which was a huge miracle. Unlike other in-laws, her mother-in-law only wanted a baby girl to dote on. When her first child turned out to be a boy, her mother-in-law cocked an eyebrow and sighed with 'what's the use of an heir if there are not many cute clothes to put on?'. She was still exhausted from her experience and hearing that made her feel so weird until she cried in her husband's arms. But later on, she realized that despite the unhappiness of not having a granddaughter, the dowager still doted on Jeremy and pampered him, well, until Mika appeared. All the love switched to Mika while Jeremy was handed to her husband to be prepared to be the heir. Luckily Jeremy did not mind and preferred not to spend too much time with his grandmother.

But because of the heir treatment Jeremy received, her only son was so serious and calm, which gave headache to her. She wanted her cute son back and seeing how carefree Jeremy was when he was with Ryn, it gave her so much hope. Only Ryn could make her son, Jeremy, truly happy. And she would do anything to make Ryn marrying into the family.

"I do like the dress. I love it," Ryn's words snapped Mrs Long from her thought. She watched as the young girl was busy coaxing her sobbing daughter.

Mrs Long sighed. If only her daughter could be calm like Catherine, she would be happier, Was the wedding too soon for her childish daughter? She was a bit worried now.
