Ryn opened her eyes and sighed heavily. She should expect this. Mika did tell her last time that she wanted to have a pre-wedding photoshoot overseas. But she forgot about it as she was so busy with her work and having to deal with Jeremy.

She rubbed her nape. Why the secrecy? Just tell her the truth. Was it so hard?

Heck, if Mika told her personally, she could clear her own schedule. Mei Li did not have to do it for her.

This was so pointless. Sooner or later she would know.

Or did they think it was funny to make her confused and wondering?

It was not funny at all.

Ryn was still pondering over this when her phone rang. Without even thinking and looking, she took it out of her pocket and slid her finger over the screen to answer.

"Ryn, are you angry at me?" Mika cried worriedly once Ryn answered the call. She was shocked when Mei Li called her earlier and apologized profusely for breaking her promise. Mika knew sooner or later Mei Li would give in to the pressure and tell the truth.

Ryn sighed. She was still trying to calm down and this silly girl was already begging for her understanding.

Was she that naive or brave?

"Are you angry? But I just want to make it a spontaneous thing for you," Mika whined.

"Do you understand the meaning of spontaneous?" Ryn asked quietly. She could not believe the guts Mika has said it was for a spontaneous thing. Did she even know the meaning of that word she used as an excuse?

"Ryn~"

Ryn pinched the bridge of her nose as she controlled her emotion. Take a deep breath. Let it out slowly. Take another deep breath. Let it out.

"I do know it's a weak excuse. I just... I just want to surprise you. Nothing much can surprise you nowadays. And you seem so rigid and serious. I just want you to have a little bit of fun."

"I don't find it fun at all, Mika. Do you know what I feel right now? I feel betrayed."

"Ryn~"

"Enough, Mika. Give me some time to cool down." Ryn ended the call with a sigh. She closed her eyes tightly, trying desperately to hold onto her patient.

She put the phone onto the coffee table and leaned her back to the sofa, sighed heavily. She was getting a headache because of this. Her stress level.... she was afraid to even measure it.

She closed her eyes.

*~*~*~*~*

Jeremy was on the way back to the agency office. He had to make a stop at his office to review some important doc.u.ments before he continued his journey. He ignored the sad puppy-eyed look from Jacob, his assistant. For him, Ryn was more important. Nothing could measure to Ryn.

Then, his phone rang.

He glanced at the screen and frowned to see his little sister's name appeared on it. What did she want this time? Didn't she know how busy he was wooing Ryn?

He wanted to ignore her, thinking it was unimportant. But of course, his little sister was insisted on him to answer the call. She kept on calling and calling until he, desperate for some peace, pressed the button to answer the call.

"What?" he asked with no greeting to his sister.

"Jeremy, help me," she whined.

"What's wrong this time, Mika? What did you do?" he asked tiredly. What did she do now that he needed to step forward to help to solve it?

"I... I..."

"Speak up or I'll hang up,| he warned impatiently.  He frowned when the words she said were not clear. "Speak clearly."

"I... I... I just... well, not lie but more like... keep a plan a secret from Ryn... and... and now she knew..."

"You did what?" His eyes widened. Mika dared to lie to Ryn? Was she mad?

"It's not that I want to lie to her but... but..." Mika sobbed, "It's not my intention to make her angry. I just want to surprise her. I want to make her happy."

Jeremy sighed heavily. Has she lost her mind? Didn't she understand how Ryn was right now? She hated when people lie to her. And to make it worst, someone closed to her. Ryn would go furious. Even when he has a very valid reason to be jealous, she was still blaming him for everything. And she even treated him coldly just because she thought he was being over-reacting when he was just trying to protect their relationship.

And now his little sister did this.

Would this affect his relationship with Ryn?

"Stupid," he told Mika.

"But I didn't mean to make her angry. I just..." Mika sobbed.

"Mika, I'll deal with this. You just go home and reflect over this carefully. And don't call Ryn until she's calm down," Jeremy instructed. He knew the most important thing to do right now was to make Ryn feel better.

"Really? You will do this for me?" she asked desperately. She did not want to lose her friendship with Ryn. She did not want to lose her again. Once was enough.

"No. I'm not doing it for you but for me. She's my future wife and I cannot let what you did affect my own relationship," he snapped.

"Jeremy," she gasped in shock. How could he be so selfish? She's the baby so he should spoil her. Why? Did he no longer care about her?

"Enough, Mika. I need to go to Ryn. Bye."

Again, Mika's call was disconnected. She looked at her phone with tears wetting her eyes. Was this her fault? Why was everyone blaming her? She had good intentions when she did what she did. It's just... it did not go as she expected.

Jeremy groaned loudly. How could his little sister be so stupid? Was she that spoiled until she thought she could do anything and it would not hurt or make Ryn angry?

He checked the road and sighed again, this time in relief. He was getting closer to the agency and hopefully, Ryn was still there. He needed to coax and appease her. More now as his silly little sister just made a stupid action.

He had to park quite far from the building. The empty spot he found before was already taken by someone else. He sighed and collected the two drinks he bought for them.

He walked quickly to the building. When he entered through the door, he smiled at the girls at the reception and quickly made his way to Mei Li's office. He was still worried that Ryn would leave, thinking that he forgot to return to pick her up.

He stopped in front of the door to gather his thought. Then, once he was calm enough, he put on a smile and opened the door. He did not even knock on the door, just entered it.

"Ryn, are you done?" he asked cheerfully. He looked for his love and secretly sighed in relief seeing his love was still there. He was happy to see her still there, despite the smile he managed to bring on her face, now there was no more smile. Only frown.

He could even feel the darkness surrounding her. She was angry. Very angry.

There was no Mei Li around. Just Ryn alone.

Well, it seemed like he should start making Ryn feel better. He put down the cups and turned to lock the door. Then, he turned back with a huge smile and approached her.

"Love, what's wrong?" he asked innocently. He tried to wrap her into his arms but she took a step back to avoid his touch.

She hugged herself and looked away.

He sighed. He tried not to get hurt with her reaction. It was frustrating when he carried the blame when it was not even his fault. He was just busy wooing her but now had to work hard to solve the problem created by his own little sister.

"Love?" he asked slowly, carefully. He took a step forward to narrow down their distance but at the same time still gave her the space.

He had to be careful when dealing with her. He was standing on a thin line and he hated it. He wished Mika did not do that. How he wished Mika could use her genius IQ when she started planning that stupid idea. She should know it would only backfire and Ryn would be mad.

"Did you know?" Ryn asked quietly.

"Hmm... about Mika?" he no longer dared to acted innocent. He knew better that being truthful was better to make her feel happy quickly.

"Obviously," she muttered dryly.

"She just told me," he confessed.

"Just now?" she c.o.c.ked an eyebrow, suspicious with his answer.

"Do you want to see my call history?" he asked, taking out his phone to show her.

She looked at the phone and let out a sigh. The way he was behaving, it seemed like he was not lying.

"I'll forgive you," she said finally.

"Thank God for that," he pulled her into his arms and dropped a kiss on the top of her head. He was relieved to see she did not blame him for Mika's antic.
