"I know, mom," Ryn replied. She knew her mother was right. Compared to last time, it was rare for her to question his real feeling. She sighed.

"Good. Stop overthinking. Stop being scared. You deserve all the happiness," her mother reminded.

"Yes, mom."

The conversation between the mother and daughter ended when her mother needed to help her father with something. Ryn let out a heavy sigh as she clutched her phone on the table and stared at the white wall. Was she that obvious? Yes, she admitted she was scared but she was learning to overcome this feeling.

Her mother was right. She should stop being so afraid to have this happiness. Jeremy hurt her once upon a time but despite the pain, she still survived, right?

She sighed again. Her eyes landed on the cold steak. She no longer has the appetite to finish it even though it was her favourite.

She stood up and walked to the gym. She actually planned to have a short exercise session hence she played the movie earlier, completely forgetting that once she started eating, she would forget about everything else.

Just like she expected, the movie ended. She pursed her lips and switched the television off.

She looked at the clock and made up her mind. She quickly looked into the box and took out one of the caps. Then, she went to retrieve her mobile phone before she walked to the door.

She needed to go out to calm herself.

She looked up in the sky as she used her right hand to shield her eyes from the shining sun. She took a deep breath and started to run.

It was better running outside than on the treadmill.

Why did she decide to have a gym anyway when she still ran outside?

She took the chance to check on the neighbourhood. So far she was liking this place.

She decided on a not too fast not too slow pace as she went around the place following the pedestrian trail. She did not stop until she reached the medium-sized playground.

She stopped as she panted and smiled. This neighbourhood seemed... empty. She did not bump into anyone. Maybe because of the time?

She took out her phone and checked on the time. No wonder... it was time for work for the a.d.u.l.ts and school for the kids.

She spent almost ten minutes basking under the sun before she remembered that she still had to do something later on. She checked the time again and decided might as well take a picture for her daily upload. Besides, she could not take a picture when she was with Jeremy. It was after all a secret from Mika and no one should know about it, especially Mika.

It was after all a surprise for her wedding.

She stood up and looked down with her camera application opened. She

Click. Click.

She checked the picture and was satisfied with the result. She then lifted up her head, along with her phone to take a few photos of the blue sky.

Click. Click.

Instead of posting only one photo that she found best, she posted the second of both sets. She did not find anything wrong with the other two photos. It was just a whim of her to do that. She only put a caption 'A Wonderful Day Today'.

She kept the phone back into the pocket of her tracksuits and jogged back to her new home. All her frustration has gone after the short exercise she had.

She just reached her home and dropped her phone into the small bowl Mika put on the coffee table when it rang. It was Jeremy.

"Hello my love," Jeremy greeted cheerfully.

"Hello, J" Ryn replied. She sat on the cushion, well, more like sitting on her folded legs. She was still exhausted from the running and was planning to have a short nap before meeting Jeremy this evening.

"How's your night? Did you sleep well?" he asked. He believed she had no problem sleeping as he knew she could sleep anywhere and anytime. But he was hoping she would say she did not sleep well because she was missing him.

"It was... weird," Ryn was frowning as she thought back to what happened during the recording. She even shivered at the memory. She would not want to repeat it back. This kind of variety show was not her kind of tea and she was so awkward the whole time. No. She would not accept this kind of job anymore.

"Weird?" Jeremy was confused. Was her place different from other places?

"Mika didn't help much but making it worst," Ryn blurted out. At first, she was happy when her best friend joined the studio but later she wished Mika was not there. Because of Mika, she had to listen to more of their teasing and even had to show how she lied to the family about eating the vegetables. She could not bear to imagine how the dowager would feel if she watches this episode. Please let her and Mrs Long skipped the episode so she could escape from their questions.

"How bad?" Jeremy asked. "Do you want me to stop the episode?" he offered. He had never done it before but for her, he would do anything just to make her happy.

She sighed. She, honestly, was happy when he offered to do that, but she could not let him do that. She did not want to ruin his reputation just because she was uncomfortable with the way the recording went. "It's okay, J. I'll accept whatever result after the show. I learned something, though."

"What is it?"

"I'm not really suitable for a variety show. I am not comfortable when I have to open up," she replied with a sigh. This would be the first and the last for her to appear in this kind of show. Later on, she would ask Mei Li to reject whatever offer came her way. She prefered just doing her job as a model.

"If you change your mind, just tell me."

"Hmm..."

"Do you want me to come to your place this evening?" he asked after a while.

"I thought you want me to go to the studio," she frowned. It was what she thought would happen today, hence she quickly returned from her exercise session.

"I don't want you to tire yourself. We can postpone to tomorrow." As he was the one who booked the studio, he did not mind booking for another day. He could do something else in the studio without her. He still has a lot to do for the wedding.

"Are you sure?" she asked hopingly. To be truth, she was still exhausted. She wished she could have a short nap before Jeremy came to pick her up but it seemed like she could have a long nap now.

"So I'll see you tonight for dinner?" he asked. Even though they would not meet for the training but he still wanted to see her today. Yesterday he missed having her for dinner so today he wanted to 'redeem' yesterday's dinner as well as today's. Her dinners belonged to him unless they were not in the same city or country.

"Yeah, sure. Are you bringing dinner or do you want me to cook?" she asked rather naturally. She actually returned back to her years ago when they were in a relationship and in order to keep their relationship a secret from his fans, he would buy dinner home or she would cook for them. They never went out for dinner just the two of them. If they were having dinner outside, they would be accompanied by Mika as she would be their smokescreen. And it would not be candlelit nor they would act like a normal couple. It did feel like he accompanied his little sister having dinner with her best friend.

He paused. He felt something weird with the way she reacted. Then, his frown deepened when he realized why it felt normal but at the same time, it made him feel uneasy and guilty. Was the previous relationship so... different than what a relationship should be? What had he done to her?

Maybe unconsciously she already felt miserable being with him and when he wanted to reconcile with her back, it was hard for her to accept him back. Maybe she did not want to go through the same experience as the last time.

"No..." he choked out after managed to gather his thought.

"No... what?" she asked in a puzzle. He did not want to have dinner with her now?

"No... I mean, you don't have to cook. I've booked a table for us at Z tower for dinner," he said even though he hadn't thought of having dinner there before he called her. After the call, he would order Jacob to book a table for them at the spinning restaurant so she could enjoy the view while having her meal. He did not care how much a meal cost as long as he could make her happy.

"That spinning restaurant? I don't know, J," she rubbed her nape nervously.

"Why not? I heard the food there is delicious," he coaxed.

"Delicious? Okay. We'll have our dinner there," she agreed easily when she heard about the food. She was actually hungry so the word 'delicious' made her stomach happy.

"Good. I'll pick you up around 6?"

"Okay. Bye, J."

"Bye, love. I'll see you later. Go to sleep."

"I'm hungry," she g.r.o.a.n.e.d as she jumped to her feet and headed to the kitchen. She remembered she still has leftover steaks there. Might as well finish them before she took her nap.
