Mr. Long has a lot of things to say to his son and the whole journey to the office was filled with the nag. Jeremy, on the other hand, did not speak at all.

He knew better than to reply to his father.

The driver kept quiet, focussing on his driving even though he felt sorry for the young master.

They finally reached the tall building and the driver quickly opened the door for Mr. Long. He was about to open the door for the Young Master but the security was faster than him and already opened it for Jeremy.

Jeremy waited for his father and walked slightly one step behind his father. Both Jacob and his father's secretary quickly greeted them and walked with them to the elevator. Jacob, being the youngest in seniority and in age quickly pushed the buŧŧon for the elevator.

The secretary for his father said something but Jeremy ignored it. His focus was on his phone, thinking his girlfriend would at least send him another message. But to his disappointment, she did not send him anything more.

They reached the meeting room and stopped in front of the door. Instead of going in, Mr. Long signaled everyone to stop and waited. He wanted to know what everyone in the room was thinking and talking about.

"I don't understand why we have to have this meeting. The lad... I don't see anything wrong with him replacing his father," one of the shareholders said. He was a man who was with Jeremy's grandfather when his grandfather was still a chairman. And this man actually gave a lot of support even when Jeremy just came to help his father when his father went on his second honeymoon at that time (the one with no ending date).

Of course, Jeremy noticed some of the shareholders were dissatisfied when he came and being his typical serious and no-nonsense man. He refused to be bullied by these older men and of course, in order to put everyone in their place, he has to show his authority.

The other person said something. And it was clear those words made his father angry. Jeremy watched as his father's face darkened. But Mr. Long still did not make a move to get into the room.

Jeremy pursed his lips thoughtfully. It seemed like his father has a lot of patience. If it was him alone, Jeremy would not waste so much time just to listen to their talk. He would rather finish this once and for all.

He would not waste time like this.

Jacob quickly opened the door and announced the arrival of Jeremy and his father. Every pair of eyes looked at the father-son duo and quickly stood up. Even the ones who were behind the meeting stood up respectfully.

Mr. Long took his seat as the chairman while Jeremy sat on his right side.

"All of you are aware why we're having this meeting?" Mr. Long asked after he greeted everyone. Just like his son, he did not make small talk to ease the tension. He was too angry to care what they felt about this meeting. His eyes were actually at the perpetrator and the man quickly lowered his head nervously.

Everyone looked at the same man. Of course, those who found this meeting ridiculous but still had to attend it gave a ridiculous look at the man while those who supported him hid a smile of anticipation.

Jeremy, upon seeing those men, just smirked.

This was going to be interesting.

"Stuart, you can start," Mr. Long ordered as he accepted a file from his secretary. He flipped it quickly but did not give any comment upon it nor putting down his signature. Instead, after he read the file, he handed the file to his son, Jeremy.

Jeremy read it while waiting for the man to start his 'speech'. He read it quickly and it did not take too long for him to notice the mistake in the figures. He used his pen to make circles at the numbers and even a huge question mark at the conclusion.  He handed the file to the secretary before gestured for Jacob to come closer. He whispered something to his ȧssistant.

Even after he was done talking with Jacob, that Stuart still did not say a word. Jeremy ċȯċked an eyebrow.

|Are we here for a meeting or a session of staring at each other?" he asked sarcastically.

Stuart gulped. He actually did not expect for both the Long to come. He thought only Jeremy would come to the meeting as it seemed that the elder Long preferred to enjoy his retirement too early.

"Sorry, we're late," Mika said loudly as she helped her grandmother into the room. Mrs. Long was following behind.

Stuart's eyes widened especially when he saw the Dowager. What had he done?

"Mother, what are you doing here?" Mr. Long asked his mother with a sigh as he quickly welcomed his mother in and helped the elder woman to take his chair. Jeremy, on the other hand, gave up his chair for his mother.

Jacob and the other secretary went out to get more chairs for Mr. Long, Jeremy, and Mika.

Stuart was hoping that the attention would not be on him. He made a terrible mistake. He forgot that Jeremy belonged to the Long even though he was still a young lad and inexperienced.

"I heard that you think my grandson is not suitable to be the CEO, Stuart," the Dowager did not even both to beat around the bush. She stared at the man and used her favorite cane to stamp onto the thick carpet. Of course, with how thick the carpet was, the cane failed to make the sound she wanted and she frowned even more.

"I... I..." Stuart was scared when the Dowager gave that look at him.

"Why don't we look at the performance of these past six months?" Jeremy asked when he saw Jacob entered the room and nodded at him slightly.

Jacob quickly opened a file from the USB stick he brought. Before long, they were presented with a slide of the company's profit for the past six months.

Jacob started to present the profit for the months and emphasized how much the increased of profit since Jeremy started to work in the main company seriously. Jacob then turned to another slide to show the share's performance. Again, they were treated with the increase in that part as well since Jeremy helped his father seriously managing the company.

Stuart and his men were speechless. How could they 'attack' Jeremy when the facts showed how much they gained since Jeremy joined them?

Mika tried not to chuckle to see the defeated look on Stuart's face. Who asked that silly guy to try to 'bully' her elder brother?

"Do you have anything to say, Stuart?" the Dowager asked with a ċȯċk of an eyebrow. From the moment she came, she led the meeting automatically and her son was too happy to hand the power to her.

"N... no... nothing..."

"So do you agree for my grandson to lead the company? Does he has the capability to inherit his father's position?" the Dowager asked sarcastically.

Stuart gulped and shook his head quickly. How could he say Jeremy was useless for the company?

"Then, do we have a reason to be in this meeting any longer?" the Dowager asked. She never looked away from Stuart.

Everyone mumbled their 'no' while Jeremy and Mika smirked. Mr. and Mrs. Long, on the other hand, was busy looking at how the Dowager was controlling the situation. It was as if they were looking at the late Mr. Long elder when he was dealing the company.

Seemed like the Dowager could actually handling the company without problem if she wanted to after her husband passed away but she refused to do so and ordered her son to do it while she went to stay at the temple to pray for her husband's soul.

Of course, Mr. Long did not find any problem to inherit the company as he was already helping his late father before his father was diagnosed with cancer. Only his children, Mika and Jeremy actually wanted to step away from the main company and tried their luck on creating and working in their own company. In just two years, the sibling managed to bring the company to almost at the same level as the main company and even won several awards as a new entrepenuer. Mika also managed to put her fashion label in the fashion week despite being so new.

But now, as he wanted to spend his days with his lovely wife, he actually ordered Jeremy to get his buŧŧ into the main company and started to take over his job as what a good heir should do. He did not want his son to suddenly take over when he passed away as he did not want his son to face any difficulty among the other shareholders especially those old men. Even he had to be careful among them and he did not want his son to face the same thing he had to face even though he already started long before his father got sick.

"If there is nothing more, the meeting adjoined," the Dowager said with a thump. She then stood up but instead of walking to the door, she looked at Stuart again.

"I hope the next time I come here, I won't have to hear any stupid excuse, okay, Stuart?"

Stuart sputtered something unintelligently but no one bothered to back him up so he was alone this time.

"Let's go, grandma, Jason has booked a table for us," Mika said cheerfully as she wrapped her arm around her grandmother's arm.

Jeremy prepared to get into the elevator with the women but his father gave him a warning look. With a heavy sigh, he just sent the women to the elevator before followed behind his father to the office.

He guessed he could not skip the work today.
