Chapter 562: Shouldn't he be busy?

The next day Ryn woke up feeling more exhausted. Although the show ended late and she was exhausted when she reached home, her eyes refused to close. She blamed it on the jetlag as she paced around the room the whole night. Now, when the morning came, all she could think of when she opened her eyes after finally falling asleep just two hours ago was to continue her sleep.
Her hand reached beneath her and found her mobile phone. Due to her 'crazy' body, she forgot to recharge her phone and kept it close to her. It was bowed out of juice and she must recharge it immediately or no one could contact her.
"I need to install the landline," she murmured to herself. She could set up a voice recorder too so if she missed any calls due to sleeping or not being at home, the callers could leave a message and she could get back to them.
Once she connected the charger to her phone, she left it on the nightstand and then made her way to the bathroom. As it was already out of battery, no one could call her yet. Hence, she spent her time in the shower peacefully with no interruption. Half an hour later, she has changed into her comfortable shirt and legging.
"What should I eat today?" she murmured to herself, walking to the kitchen. It was no longer morning. The sun was slightly down, just after afternoon. Hence, she would be having brunch.
She opened the meat freezer and her eyes rested on the pile of meats. It was not a question at all what she would be having when she has her stock of meat. The only question was what type of steak cooking she would do.
She chose two slabs of meat and put them onto the blackboard. Mika gifted it to her, saying it could defrost the meat quickly.
And Ryn really made use of it. How many slabs of meat have been defrosted using the board?
Ryn took out condiments that she would use to marinate the meat and make the sauce. She left them on the counter and went to the bedroom. Surely the battery was enough for her to switch on her phone and check how many miscall and messages during the time her phone went off.
True to her thought, Jeremy called her a few times and even left a few messages asking about her whereabouts.
Ryn rubbed her temple. How many calls he has to make before he would stop and give up. He shouldn't be worried if he could not contact her. He should know that she would not go anywhere with the late show she had to go to.
She paused for several minutes to calm down and gather her thought. Then, she took a deep breath and called him. It was better to call rather than send a message. If he was busy and could not be disturbed, she would understand if he rejected the call.
She did not have to wait for long before he answered the call. She checked the time on the phone and pursed her lips thoughtfully. The lunch break was already over so Jeremy must be in the middle of work. She did not expect her call would be answered by him.

"Hello, love. You just woke up?" Jeremy asked. There was no sign of anger in his voice of her 'ignoring' his calls earlier.
He has changed, it seems. There was no jealousy at all. She almost thought he would accuse her of talking with another man and ignoring him when she called him but no, he asked her whether she just woke up in his cheerful and caring voice.
"Hmm... just charged the phone," she explained apologetically. She did not want him to misunderstand her.
"I know," he replied with a chuckle. His other hand waved at Jacob to leave the room to give him privacy to chat with his girlfriend.
"Hmm... you're busy?" She asked with a frown. She did not want to disturb him from his work but at the same time she did not want to make him wait before she call him back.
"Not really," he lied without batting an eye. Of course he was busy with work especially after taking so many days off. Yes, his father did help during the holiday but he could not completely leave everything to his old father.
"I had a late night last night," she told him. She was so exhausted that she did not have the energy to call him for a chat. She went straight to sleep once she reached home.
"I know. You should continue rest. Tomorrow you have work?" Jeremy asked with a frown. He did not plan to meet her today. One, he wanted to give her a chance to rest completely. And secondly, he needed to finish his work here at the company before this evening, he would join the gang to discuss about the concert. He had been missing the first meeting as it was held during the 'honeymoon' holiday. Today he must attend in order to understand the concept and the plan. How many cities they were going and for how many months? He needed to know in order to plan how to distribute the work in the company to his little sister, his father and himself. He knew he could not focus wholly on the company while doing the tour but at the same time he could not simply dump everything to his little sister and father.
"Hmm... my flight tonight," she replied. She needed to travel to an island. It would take about an hour to arrive. The next morning, she would have a photoshoot at the beach. It was a swimsuit photoshoot.
"Do you want me to accompany you?" He immediately asked, totally forgetting the fact that his own schedule was so packed and could not squeeze anything anymore.
"No need. Mei Li will come with me," she replied. She knew when he took a few days off, once he returned back to work, the mountain of work he had to face would take him several days to settle and today was the first day after they returned.
"Are you sure?"
"Hmm... you should focus on your work." She even nodded seriously even though he was not there to see her expression.
He smiled. Could she be more understanding and adorable? She did not say it but her words cleary showed how worried she was with him. She loved him, he knew it. Her love showed through her care. How he wished she could say those three words loudly rather than just showing it via her action?
"Have you had your lunch?" He asked. He was not worried that she would skip any meal because she was a foodie and would not sacrifice food for anything else. Just that if she still hasn't eaten anything, he could order his personal ȧssistant to buy delicious food for her.
"I made steaks," she murmured absent mindedly. She pursed her lips. She lied. She hadn't even started to cook it. She only left them to defrost. She should check the meat now and if they are already thawed, she could start preparing her brunch.
"Okay. Then, you should have your rest. I'll call you later? Make sure to charge the phone," he reminded before added, "I love you. Bye."
"Bye," she mumbled. She did not repeat those three words even though she knew he was hoping she would do that. She put the phone down to continue charging and went to the kitchen.
A smile bloomed on her face when she saw the meat was ready to be cooked. Without wasting anymore second, she quickly marinated them. And then, she started to make sauce from scratch. While waiting for the spices to completely permeate into the meat, she blended some iced fruits Mika left in the refrigerator to take off some of the hunger. She was starving but too lazy to order or go eat outside. Besides, she knew if she made it herself, she would not skip any ingredients and so generous with them.
She rubbed her hands anticipatingly. She could not wait to eat them. Her saliva even pooled in her mouth at the thought of the delicious steaks she would soon make.
Half an hour later, she sat at the chair at the dining table. Her eyes shone brightly at the sight of steaks piling on a plate. She skipped decorating or dressing them nicely on a cute plate and use another plate for eating one by one. Instead, she decided it would save her the energy to wash two plates, a bowl and a glass by just using a plate for the steaks, a small bowl for the sauce to dip in and a glass for her drink.
And now she was ready for her feast.
