They ate their meal quietly. Ryn did not think about her practical anymore but Mika's brain was busy working on how to change Ryn's mind. She did not want her best friend being fooled by that stinky big brother of hers. Yes, she loved the fact that Ryn would become her true sister once Ryn married to Jeremy but the thought of not able to spend time with her best friend for several months because Ryn joined the tour made her feel sad and frustrated.
She wanted Ryn to work with her. They have a cosmetic line together and might as well develop a new product for sell while Ryn undergo her training.

Ryn called the waiter to clear the table before ordered the dessert. Even Mika chose a raindrop pudding with sesame seed.
While the restaurant was preparing their dessert, Mika leaned her back against the chair, crossed her arms and looked at Ryn seriously.
Ryn tried to ignore it but at last, she could only sigh and open her mouth to call her name, "Mika, please.
"Don't you think it will just waste your time when you follow him? What can you learn? What can you practice? Don't you think that he would be pulling you to bed all the time when you're trying to work, well, sort of working?" Mika asked coldly.
"Mika, why are you being so negative all of a sudden? Jeremy already explained that even though he would delegate the work between you and your father, he cannot hand everything to you two. The projects that are still ongoing are still under his watch," Ryn tried to explain.
"Mika, I don't like to see you like this. Don't be so pessimistic. Your brother won't leave everything for you to handle because he doesn't want to put too much pressure on you. You're still newlyweds so do you think your parents will allow Jeremy to wash his hands completely for the company?"
Mika pursed her lips, refused to speak sulkily. How could Ryn defend her big brother? She did not understant of it at all.
Ryn stood up and went to Mika's side. With her height, she had to lower herself down a bit so she could hold Mika's hands. She stroked them gently. "When Jeremy suggested the idea, it was in front of your parents. Your father and mother already agree with the plan."
"They're fooled with his sweet words," Mika retorted sulkily.
Ryn sighed. She cupped both Mika cheeks and squeezed them gently.
"You are not thinking straight right now. You let your jealousy clouding your rationale," Ryn said as she kept squeezing and squeezing until Mika, unable to hold the pain anymore, pushed her hands away with a cry.
"Think about it. Do you think Jeremy will have the time and energy to check the emails and documents? Will he remember any schedule for the meetings when he was busy with the tour? Jacob cannot follow him because he has to take care of the company and make sure all the documents need to be checked and signed send accordingly. Now, who else can help him if not me?" Ryn tried to use Mika's brilliant brain for her to understand why she agreed with the plan.
"Think also the benefits I will get if I were to help him. Of course there are pros and cons for everything but to me, the pros outweigh the cons. I will gain more than what I might lose."

"Just imagine," Ryn cut Mika's words and continued persuading her, "Not only I can practice what I have learned in theories but I also will get used with the pace of the top management in a business. Do you think Jeremy will treat me nicely during my practical and close an eye during my mistakes?"

"He, when he is in his work mode and just like you, will treat me the same like any other workers. Well, he might use a softer words but it might hurt nonetheless but through mistakes I will gain more knowledge and experience."
"I don't think he can bȧrė to scold you," Mika pointed out dryly. "He might blame your mistake to Jacob."
"Poor Jacob then," Ryn replied without thinking and both giggled at the thought of Jeremy's personal ȧssistant being blamed despite his innocence, just so that Ryn would not be blamed for the mistake.
"Ryn," Mika called her name once the giggle stopped. "I really want to work with you."
"Won't I be working with you after graduate? Haven't I told you that I will gradually slowing my modelling job so I can help you with our brand?" Ryn pointed out the fact dryly. She never thought of being a model forever. As she grew older, the competition among the models would be fiercer. She would rather prepare herself for the future by looking for another income. Poor Jason. In her excitement of working together with Ryn, Mika forgot that she was no longer a single woman. She was not a wife and surely Jason wanted to spend more time cuddling to his wife after work. Besides, he liked the fact that they could start working for another little version of them.
"Mika, stop being so childish. I am not playing around. I'm doing my practical in order to prepare me for the work world," Ryn said with a sigh.
"But... you already are working as a model, since years ago," Mika pointed out.
"Working in a company and working as a model is different. The responsibility and the expectation are different."
Mika wanted to argue more but the arrival of the waiter carrying their dessert put a stop to her. With a scowl, she pulled back her hands and watched Ryn sat gracefully at her seat. Her lips twitched to see how serene Ryn looked right now.
The waiter was a bit taken back when he felt the strange atmosphere between the women. However, he kept the smile on his face as he arranged the small plates onto the table neatly. Then, he excused himself when both women rejected to refill their glass of water. Apart from the drinks they ordered, the waiter also poured them a glass of water each before he went to process their order.
Again like before, both did not continue their so called discussion when they were eating their dessert. It was as if they already promised to each other that the discussion should be postponed until they were done with their meal. It would only hurt their stomach if they were too agitated during the talk. Better to enjoy the meal calmly and once the food settled in the stomach, then, they can talk as long and loud as they want.
Of course this agreement only for a heavy and serious topic like where Ryn would do her practical and how she would do it. If it was only about the title of the movie they would watch, they could discuss it while eating their food.
"You evil," Mika muttered as she narrowed her eyes. She was sure it was a deliberate move from her best friend in order not to continue their talk.
Ryn just smiled. When the waiter approached, she asked for the bill.. In order to appease her best friend bad mood, she decided to treat her the lunch today.
