John Cooper was playing his favorite game.
Kicked back on an old leather chair while surrounded by his posters and football gear, his eyes flashed with the scenes of war that played out on the screen before him.
Blood flew as miniguns and rockets drew explosions, lighting up his vision.
Good old fashioned American violence, is what his father called things like this.
Not that it meant anything to John. It was just a game he liked. Given a few months he might move on to another.

It happened one day when he was on the road.
Driving through a city, John spotted, as usual, a large semi-truck hauling some cargo.
While drive up to a red light, he pondered.
“I’ve seen some of those European and Japanese trucks. Why are they so puny compared to ours? Although, considering Texas is damn near the size of Europe, I can see why. Bigger places begets bigger trucks.”
He hummed with sound logic, but then, as he watched the truck barrel down the road, he felt something was off.
It was going way to fast.
“Shit, is that thing gonna stop?”
He panicked, and then, he saw the truck barrel through five cars in front of it, throwing them out of the way.
“Oh shit! It’s not gonna stop!”
He cursed as he watched the truck turn in his direction. He could hear the roar of its engine, and it was going way too fast to evade.
He prayed it would swerve out of the way, as a head on collision would kill not just him, but several others instantly.
And then, it happened.
The truck transformed into a robot, jumping on its feet and roaring in his face.
“It’s isekai time motherfucker!”
John watched as the semi-truck robot jumped high into the air and came falling down with a diving elbow drop, as if it were some kind of pro wrestler.
He sat there baffled.
“What the fuck?!”
*BOOM*
And everything went dark.
