After a moment of realization, she run over to embrace the old man.

"Oh my god it's you!" she said while hugging him tightly.

"My sweet troublemaker, look how beautiful and grown up you have become!"

He said while patting on her head.

"Uncle James when did you arrive? Why didn't you tell me to pick you up from the airport? It's been ages and I really missed you so much!"

She told him with tears in her eyes.

"I missed you more my sweet little ladybug."

Uncle James went to the same university along with Jolene's parents. The three of them were best friends. During college years, and unlike his friends who were filthy rich, James had a poor background.

However he studied and worked hard to develop himself and to improve his social and financial status. Leaving everything behind, he went overseas to chase his dream of becoming a competent well known psychologist. After many years of hard work and sleepless nights, his dream became true. Despite becoming rich and famous, he never married and he had no children. Uncle James considered John and Jolene as his own kids, and they loved him so much.

"Uncle James I'm not a ladybug anymore."

"Indeed! You're a butterfly now. But in my eyes you'll always be a little ladybug."

She smiled widely and hugged him once more.

"Uncle James is having all the love and care of our little princess, aren't you jealous dad?" John said teasing his father.

"Of course he is, just look at his face expression!" Uncle James said while laughing.

They were all having a good time chatting and recalling the old days. Uncle James suddenly remembered that Jolene had a boyfriend. He was eager to meet the guy who stole the heart of his little girl.

"I heard from your father that you'll be engaged soon, is that so?"

Jolene nodded in agreement.

"He also told me that his future son in law is a one of a kind guy. It's not that I don't trust your dad's judgments, but I'll have to see for myself." Uncle James said with a serious face expression.

"Edward is a good man uncle, you'll like him." She said cheerfully.

"You seem to be in love with him. Well I just want to meet him to see if he's as handsome as I used to be in my twenties."

His suddenly stopped laughing on his own joke, and added in a serious, kind of sad tone.

"Youth is indeed beautiful. Actually, if you really love him that much, then don't let go of him no matter what could the reasons be. Regret is the worst thing you may experience, especially when no substitute can ease your pain."

He spaced out for a moment. The sad expression on his face only lasted for seconds before he smiled again. However, the people in the room couldn't help but to notice the change in his cheerful aura. Briefly after that, Mrs. Paterson stepped into the room to call everyone for lunch.
