"Ok, next order of business…" Juin cleared his throat and continued, "I need weapons."

Not that he knew how to use them. So far, he had only been using the dagger that Warlock gave him, and even so, he wasn't extremely efficient and familiar with it yet. But he figured he could just stock whatever weapons he could get and sell it for some money in the future.

President Presley nodded. "That will be provided to you, of course…"

"I want to choose my own weapons, and that it should be the best weapons the Order has," Juin said as he looked at the man in the eye. "I don't want anyone else to make the decision for me."

"That…" President Presley frowned slightly. There were some procedures when it came to recruitment. Even though, as the president, he had some leeway, but there was still a ceiling to what he could do before the other members made noise about it.

He shook his head and said, "I can't do that. And your request is a little overboard. All newcomers will be given weapons of the same rank. The most I can ensure is that you will get to choose your own weapons instead of having someone else choose it for you."

"Fine…" Juin knew that it would be hard for him to push for so many things anyway. It wasn't like he cared much for the weapons anyway since Lucifer told him that the dagger that he had now was already one of the best weapons he could have. "One more thing…"

"Yes?"

"I want Mrs. Martin, Wesley, and every human that I know of to be protected and kept safe from the supernatural world," Juin said. He stopped the rocking chair and leaned forward. With his eyes narrowed, he said in a serious tone, "This is non-negotiable. If you can't give me this reassurance, then I'll join another group."

A cold air soon filled the room, to the point that Juin started to shiver. He rubbed his arms and looked around, hoping that the cold air came from the wind outside.

"Nope, the window's locked…" Juin sighed in his mind and looked back at the man sitting near him.

"Are you threatening me, boy?" President Presley asked with a smile on his face… except that this time, his smile looked extremely eerie and full of danger.

Hearing the low tone in the man's voice, Juin gulped slowly, but instead of backing away, he grabbed the arms of the rocking chair and said with a hard tone, "I'm negotiating."

President Presley's eyes lit up slightly, but it soon went back to normal as he calmed himself down. As the president of the Order, he was used to threatening others and not the other way around. And it had been a long time since someone "negotiated" in such a manner with him.

Honestly, if it was not because of Juin's underlying potential, as well as the upcoming stake in the Battle, President Presley would have gotten rid of him immediately.

Juin was about to say something when he realized that there was something wrong with President Presley's words.

Lucifer sensed it as well.

"He's playing with his words…" Lucifer mumbled. "What a snake…"

Juin scoffed and leaned back in the rocking chair. The room was quiet saved for the sound of the moving rocking chair. After a long time, Juin asked, "Do you think that I'm an idiot, President Presley?"

"Of course not…"

"As long as the house is standing, the people living in it will be protected," Juin repeated the man's words. "That means that you are only protecting the inhabitants of this house when they are in it, and not who I want you to protect. Does that mean that you won't protect them when they are out and about? That's not good of you, President Presley. Tricking a young, impressionable boy like me…"

President Presley looked at Juin with a curious expression. He did not expect the young inexperienced teenage boy, who had a report card that could barely get him into a second-rate college, could see through his words so quickly.

"I'm sorry, I didn't think things through. Of course that's not what I meant. I should be more careful with my words," President Presley said with a smile. He then added, "Let me rephrase it. As long as you are with the Order, the current inhabitants of this house will be protected at all times. Of course, I have to make it clear that while I can send someone to protect them, there's no guarantee that they will be fully safe."

"That's not very reassuring," Juin said with a frown. "How do I ensure their safety then?"

"Stay away from them," President Presley said truthfully in a stern voice. "They don't belong in your world, and you don't belong in theirs."

"But the Order has people with human families…" Juin said.

"The weaker you are, the more insignificant you will be. Hence the safer your family members would be. I'm sure I don't need to explain that to you. At the moment, you are highly sought after, and to reach you, they will go after your weakest link, which at the moment, is those you care about."

When the supernatural beings first started to arrive on Earth, their numbers were small, and grouping up was a good idea. But now that there were so many of them, as well as humans with supernatural lineage, things were no longer the same.

President Presley sighed and added, "I'm sure it will be the same even if you decided to change your mind and join the other groups. The mere fact that they are humans means that they have no ability to protect themselves, and no groups would constantly send their best members to protect the family of one member, regardless of how important that person may be.

"And to let you know something… In the Order, the strongest members tend to be those who have no family members…"

It wasn't uncommon to see someone cut off ties with their family. Whether it was to protect themselves from being blackmailed or to protect their human family, it was something that had to be done in certain cases. Especially those whose bloodlines had been so diluted that there were more normal descendants than supernatural descendants.

In that case, it would be more kind to cut off the ties, as it would allow their descendants to live a normal human life without feeling as if they were weaker than their supernatural family members.
