"When I left my house earlier, I only wanted to get something to eat, and now, I got embroiled in this kind of stuff… Next time, please kill those creatures earlier, so that I don't have to intervene…" Warlock said with a tired tone.

Mika did not know what else to say. After a moment of silence, she said, "Well, I have to go now… My brother will be wondering where I am…"

"Oh, Mika?" Warlock said, looking at her with his body fully facing her.

He then smiled at her, yet his seemingly innocent smile was actually laced with a hint of threat that someone with Mika's experience could tell. "I think you should know what you should say and what you should not, right?"

Without waiting for her answer, he then turned around without waiting for her answer.

Mika glanced at the man's back, and after a while, she nodded. "Yes, Mr. Warlock."

A few hours later, Wesley was having a nightmare. The monsters that he saw earlier that day were coming after him, threatening to tear his head off.

He was struggling to wake up from the nightmare when he felt something wet on his face. He then opened his eyes abruptly and saw Warlock looking over him.

"ARGH!" the boy screamed before sitting up and looking around quickly. "Where… Where…"

When he recalled what happened last night, Wesley took a couple of deep breaths to calm himself down. He then looked at Warlock with a confused expression, wondering why he was standing next to him.

Wesley recalled that Warlock had cleared the unused operating table and told him to sleep there while the man himself merely took to the chair.

"Kid, you were screaming," Warlock said with a dry tone. In his hand was a cup of water that he used to splash on Wesley's face. "Nightmare?" he asked, sitting next to Wesley on the bed.

After a couple of blinks, Wesley was finally awake, and he nodded. "I dreamed… about those monsters earlier…"

He looked down at his hands, which were still trembling from the nightmare earlier, and mumbled, "I used to think that I was a very brave man, and compared to Juin, I was basically fearless… But now, just because I saw those monsters, I started having nightmares… What kind of a brave man am I?"

Warlock sighed and placed a hand on Wesley's back. It was a good thing that up until he found Juin, he spent a lot of time with kids Wesley's age, going from orphanage to orphanage, seeking for the boy he lost.

However, his previously worried face was soon replaced by one of shock. He glanced at his hand, wondering whether to take it back, but looking at Wesley's small body, he decided against it.

"I'm sorry…" Warlock muttered under his breath as he looked at the boy with a guilty expression, as if he had known something that he should not.

But even so, Wesley heard Warlock's words, and he looked at him in confusion. "Why are you apologizing?"

Instead of answering his question, Warlock merely smiled as he rubbed Wesley's back gently. He then explained in a gentle tone, "Juin had no choice, and he knew about it. He was destined to be in this world… But you're not. You're just a normal human…"

He thought for a while as he looked Wesley in the eye. "And if you want, I can return everything to normal."

After a long moment of silence, Wesley asked suspiciously, "How?"

He had a bad feeling about what Warlock meant with "return everything to normal". After all, he was sort of an otaku who was well-versed with the fictional world of fantasy, which was what he seemed to be in now.

"I can take away your memory from last night, and--"

Before Warlock could even finish talking, Wesley gave him a push before jumping down from the bed.

"I knew it!" Holding the sides of his head, the boy snapped, "You're not taking my memory away!!!"

"Wesley, this is better for you!" Warlock sighed.

"Who are you to tell me that it's better for me?!" Wesley yelled in anger. "This is my memory, I should have the decision to decide!"

He then patted his c.h.e.s.t and roared, "Even if I get the nightmares, even if I can't sleep at night, I still don't want to lose the memories from last night. Who are you to say that I won't see those monsters again, that I would leave the rest of my life in peace?! That I won't have to go through this initial shock again? I'd rather know about them than to be defenseless when they come after me!"

"They won't come after you if Juin's gone…"

"But I don't want him to be gone forever! He's still my brother!" Wesley yelled with teary eyes as he glared at Warlock.

"Wes…"

A voice came from a corner of the room, where Juin was still lying on the operating table. Warlock had cleaned up the dried blood from Juin's body and changed the sheet that was covering him, so he looked like he was in a better condition than earlier.

With the few hours of rest following his operation, Juin merely looked tired now instead of looking deathly pale.

And when Wesley heard Juin call his name, he gasped before quickly dashing over. "Juin! You're finally awake!!!"

He had been worried the whole time when Juin did not show signs of waking up earlier. Even though Warlock reassured him that Juin would wake up before sunrise, Wesley could not help but still worry over his roommate.

Juin looked at him and smiled. "I'm glad you're ok, Wes…"

"You're fine now… The weird doctor put your broken bones together. Look, it's like you didn't even get injured at all!" Wes said excitedly as he pulled the sheet that was covering Juin's top down slightly and pointed at his c.h.e.s.t. His eyes widened slightly as he said in amazement, "Even the scar from the surgery is gone now…

When he checked on Juin last, the scar from the surgery was still there.

Juin glanced down and saw that his c.h.e.s.t was completely fine. With a sigh, he joked, "Great… Now I can't skip practice…"

He then looked at Wesley with a pained expression. He had actually been awake for some time, so he actually heard what Wesley and Warlock were talking about earlier. Knowing that Wesley truly regarded him as his brother, Juin felt elated… But even so, he still forced himself to convince Wesley to change his mind.

"I overheard your conversation with Mr. Warlock. Listen to him… Remove the memories…"
