Even if he could not live a normal life, he wanted Wesley to be able to do so. The whole point of him leaving was so that Wesley, Mrs. Martin, and Max could be protected from harm, so he really hoped that Wesley would not be embroiled further in the supernatural world.

"No!" Wesley was persistent about protecting his memories. "I don't want to lose it. I don't want there to be a rift between us…"

"What are you talking about? There won't be one…"

"There will be, once you move out…" Wesley said with trembling lips. He clenched his fists as he continued, "Even with the other kids who used to stay with us before you came over… Once they moved out, they just stopped contacting me after a few weeks… You'll be the same… At least now, I know something more about you… And you ever stop contacting me, I'll tell everyone about it!"

Obviously, he was joking angrily about the last part, and Juin knew that.

"Wes…"

"Forget about it!" Wesley folded his arms defiantly as he said, "I'm not going to agree to that, and if you make me, I'll hate you forever even if I can't remember it…"

Juin looked at Wesley's defiant expression for a while before giving up. Perhaps knowing was better than not knowing. With a wry grin, he nodded. "Alright then… But you must remember not to talk about it with anyone, not even Mrs. Martin. No one else knows about it…"

He could make Warlock f.o.r.c.i.b.l.y clean Wesley's memories, but what kind of a friend would he be… or a brother. He, however, made a mental note to tell Wesley about Max's father, just in case something happened when he was away.

Upon hearing Juin's words, Wesley smiled, but he quickly wiped the smile away and nodded solemnly. "I know… I'm not an idiot..."

He then sat on the side of the bed as he looked at Juin. "How are you feeling now?"

"Groggy," Juin mumbled as he closed his eyes. "And weird… There's something different inside of me..."

"That weird doctor put something in you," Wesley explained with a worried expression. He then looked at Warlock for a moment before looking back at Juin. "But Mr. Warlock here took a look at your whole body earlier, and he said that there's nothing bad in you…"

"Mr. Warlock…" Juin looked at the man for confirmation, and he got it in the form of a nod.

"I have no idea what he placed inside your body, but knowing him, it's probably nothing dangerous…" said Warlock nonchalantly.

Juin frowned. "That's not very reassuring…"

He then glanced around, before signaling Wesley to help him up. When he sat up, he touched his c.h.e.s.t. The last he remembered, his c.h.e.s.t, particularly the area where the broken rib protruded out, was in a lot of pain… But now, it was as if he had merely been lightly kicked in the c.h.e.s.t, with only a slight ache on it.

"That doctor… Juin sighed, secretly thanking the doctor for now. He then glanced around the room. Lucifer, for some reason, was sitting in midair at a corner of the room in a meditating position and with his eyes closed, completely ignoring everything that was going on in the room, so Juin decided to talk to him later, when Wesley was gone.

After a quick glance, Juin realized that the other person was gone. "Where's Mika Nakamura?"

"She left first, to avoid suspicions," Warlock said before yawning. "By the way, when you guys leave later, make sure that you don't say that I'm here the whole time."

"Why?" Wesley asked, blinking curiously.

"For everyone's safety… I'm not affiliated with any group… And being seen too close to me will put you guys in danger," Warlock explained. "Juin will tell you more about it later…"

He then suddenly reached out and placed a hand on Wesley's head, taking the kid aback slightly. Warlock's eyes glowed slightly as a small warm transferred from his hand to Wesley's head. As if in a trance, Wesley swayed slightly before falling down on Juin's body.

"Wes!" Juin gasped, wide-eyed. He tried to shake Wesley awake, and he even lightly slapped Wesley, but no matter what he did, the boy did not respond to him at all. Glaring at Warlock, he snapped, "What did you do to him?"

Warlock carried Wesley up, and as he walked to the empty operating table, he explained, "His mind is more susceptible to being intruded by others, so I have to alter his memories a little…"

"You wiped his memories? But he--"

"Don't worry. I just change the ones about me so that he won't technically be lying," Warlock said with an indifferent expression. He placed Wesley down on the bed and walked back to Juin. "With Lucifer with you, no one can intrude your memories without your permission since I doubt Lucifer will allow them to do so, but Wesley is a human who has no means of defending himself against the supernatural… so it would be like cutting through tofu for them."

Pulling a chair and sitting down, Warlock said, "We need to talk."

Juin was looking at Wesley when he heard the serious tone in Warlock's voice. "About what?"

"You," Warlock said, staring intently at the teenager in front of him. "You made your decision to join the Order, right? Tell me everything happened."

He was not afraid of being eavesdropped since he had placed activated Silence that was large enough to surround the whole building.

And so, he listened on with a carefree manner as Juin started telling him everything that happened, from being visited by President Presley, attacked by Taka, how Lucifer nearly lost his life by calling up a Soul Beast, and the terms of the agreement that he had with President Presley.

And when Warlock heard how President Presley visited Juin at his home, he subconsciously touched his left stump, before quickly dropping his hand and feigned ignorance. However, his action did not go unnoticed.

"Mr. Warlock… Did President Presely do that?"

"It doesn't matter…"

Juin's lips twitched. He then asked, "Is it a wrong move for me to join the Order?"
