They talked a little more, with Warlock doing most of the talking as he warned Juin of some of the people and creatures that he would be seeing once he fully stepped into the supernatural world, as well as the dangers that might be facing in the other world.

After that, they took a rest, and when Juin and Wesley woke up a couple hours later, Warlock was already gone, having left only some money on the chair he was last seen on for the two of them to use.

"Well, guess he left…" Juin said as he stared at the money, which was enough to cover a cab ride home and probably lunch as well. He was fully recovered now, and other than his clothes, which were no longer salvageable, there was not even a hint of a fight.

Thankfully, Warlock had left behind a set of clothes for him along with the money.

It was a muscle shirt that hung off his still-thin frame, a leather jacket, and a pair of black u.n.d.e.r.w.e.a.r and jeans.

"That's not your style… But you look good in it," Wesley said with a nod of approval as he looked at Juin up and down. "You should wear that more often instead of your usual washed-out shirt…"

Chuckling, Juin then gave him a wry glance. "Wes, we are orphans… I don't have a choice when it comes to secondhand clothes…"

As the youngest, Wesley got better choices of secondhand clothes since the kids these days were mostly well-dressed, and his clothes went through less cycle. However, Juin had to share his clothes with the rest of the male teenagers in the house. The same shirt was probably washed twice a week, at least.

Even if they were new to begin with, it would have looked washed out by the end of the month.

When Wesley chuckled awkwardly at Juin's response, the latter then reached down to pick it up before saying to Wesley, "Remember what Mr. Warlock said?"

Rubbing his hungry stomach, Wesley yawned before replying, "He didn't say much since he left so early… Really, as a teacher, shouldn't he stay until you wake up? He doesn't seem that reliable."

He then looked at his phone before mumbling to himself, "Ah, it's completely dead…"

Juin glanced at him for a second before smiling. It seemed that Warlock's spell worked well. Wesley "remembered" Warlock left after Juin was out of the operating room. "Well, it's his off-hours… Oh, and make sure you don't talk about what you saw yesterday. Not to your friends, strangers, or even online… Not even to inanimate objects, ok? There's always people listening."

Wesley nodded and put up the swearing sign. "I promise."

Juin nodded. He then looked at Lucifer, who had been in the same meditating position since last night. At first, Juin thought that Lucifer was somehow injured, but Warlock said that he was fine. Yet for some reason, the demon king had not spoken a word to Juin or even looked at him once ever since he woke up.

Worried, Juin decided to talk to him.

"Oh yeah, Wesley, can you wait for me outside for a minute?" Juin asked, looking at Lucifer. "I need to do something…"

"What?" Wesley asked, yawning again. The sleep yesterday was uncomfortable, and he felt as if his brain had somehow put on weight, if that even made sense.

Juin merely looked at him, trying to rack his brains for an answer. But before he could say a word, Wesley waved a hand nonchalantly and said, "It's fine, you probably need to do something related to THAT…"

He picked up their school bags and dragged them to the door. "I'll wait outside…" Wesley said before leaving the operating room that he spent the night in.

After he left, Juin walked closer to Lucifer and said, "Hey, Your Majesty, are you alright?"

"Your Majesty?"

Lucifer floated down until he was standing in front of Juin. Looking down at Juin, he mumbled, "Something is changing within my soul…"

"What?" Juin asked in curiosity. "Are you evolving again? Into that form?"

He shuddered when he recalled Lucifer's partly transformed image.

"No…" Lucifer shook his head as he looked at his hands. "It's like something is burning within me…"

"Erm, is it hurting you? Is that why you were meditating for so long?" Juin asked with a worried gaze.

"No, it's more like… It's like something is strengthening my soul. I can feel my soul power reserve growing at a significant pace. That's why I was meditating, to slowly absorb them in case of a backlash…" Lucifer said, seemingly uncertain if his explanation was correct.

At first, he just felt a heat that seemed to appear from the core of his soul, and he did not think much of it. But after a while, the heat got unbearable, and he started to feel as if something were about to explode from within him.

So he started looking through his Soul Dimension, as well as his soul power reserve; that was when he realized that his soul power reserve was growing at a fast rate inexplicably.

"Wesley said that the weird doctor placed something inside my body," Juin speculated as he patted around his abdomen. He then looked up at Lucifer and asked, "Do you think that has something to do with your soul power reserve?"

"I'm not sure, but it's likely," Lucifer said while nodding slowly. The doctor seemed to have noticed Juin's unique constitution as he operated on him, and Lucifer could have sworn he saw the old man giggling to himself. "There's no other explanation for the sudden increase… I can only hope that it's not something bad."

"Since Mr. Warlock brought us to him," Juin sighed and said, "I guess we can trust that old man…"

He then turned and headed toward the door.

"You trust Warlock?" Lucifer asked suddenly, just as Juin was about to turn the doorknob.

The fluorescent lights in the room flickered slightly as Juin's hand that was on the doorknob stopped moving.

"So far, I don't know who else I can trust more…" Juin admitted after thinking for a while. He had long felt that Warlock was hiding something from him, but at the same time, Juin did not feel the need to force the man to tell him, nor was he capable of forcing it out of the man. So long as the man did not show any inclination to hurt him or his… family, he was going to trust him.

After all, he was about to enter the treacherous world of the supernaturals without any familial support, so Warlock was somewhat a support to him, and probably the one one, even if he might be unreliable.

Glancing at Juin, Lucifer thought for a while before saying with an indifferent expression, "Let's go."

He did not know if it was wise to trust Warlock, but Juin was right, there was no one else that they could trust more. At the very least, Warlock was definitely on their side.

They went out of the room and met with Wesley. Using the money that Warlock left them, Juin and Wesley used the landline on the counter and called for a cab.

And upon getting out of the car, they were met by a frantic Mrs. Martin, who ran out of the house upon seeing them from the windows of the living room and hugged them tightly with tears in her eyes.

"Oh God! Thank God you guys are alright!" she kept mumbling over and over again.

"What's wrong?" Wesley asked with a worried expression as he tried to get out of Mrs. Martin's bear-like hug.

"Why did you switch off your phones?!" Mrs. Martin snapped at both of them, taking both boys aback since it was rare for her to use such a tone with them.

"We didn't bring our chargers…" Juin said with a confused tone. "Did something happen?"

"And there's no charger at Ms. Takamura's house?" Mrs. Martin asked with a frown as she released them.

Juin and Wesley glanced at each other, before Wesley replied, "Erm, there's no right charger…"

"Mrs. Martin, did something happen? What are you so worried about? Mr. Thompson told you that we are at my friend's place, right?" Juin asked.

"Yeah," Mrs. Martin said with a sigh. "Why didn't you just call and tell me yourself?"

"Erm…" Juin looked at Wesley for help.

"Mrs. Martin, that's not important. Come on now, tell us, what happened exactly, and why are you so worried?" Wesley said as he looked up at Mrs. Martin with his big, innocent eyes, trying his best to distract her.

Mrs. Martin sniffed and looked around. She then took the boys back into the house, and it was only after she closed the door, she took a deep breath and said to Juin, "Three kids from your school were killed last night… They found their bodies near here..."

"And… and…" She lowered her tone, as if she was afraid, as she said in a low voice, "Badly mangled, as if they were torn apart by a wild animal…"

Juin and Wesley's eyes widened upon hearing it, and they quickly exchanged glances before asking, "Who?"

Mrs. Martin shrugged helplessly. "They didn't mention the kids' identities on the news… I was so scared, thinking that you guys might be injured… I know that you were at Ms. Nakamura's house, but I still can't help thinking, what if you returned early, and what if you guys were attacked…"
