A few days later, Juin had just finished his afternoon training with Tucker when he was called upon by President Presley. On the way there, he gave a signal to Cyrus, warning him to be careful with his words.

He then asked the male servant who was sent to call him, "Did the president just arrive?"

"Yes, Young Master Juin," the servant said respectfully as he continued to lead the way. "President Presley arrived an hour ago, and after settling down, he said that he would like to meet you and to get an idea of your training progress."

Juin nodded and did not ask anything else. President Presley was away for a longer time than he thought.

After a few minutes of walking, they arrived outside President Presley's study room.

Knock!

Knock!

Knock!

"Come in!" said a charming voice from within the room.

The servant turned the knob before signaling Juin and Cyrus to go in.

When the boys walked in, the first thing they saw was President Presley reading some doc.u.ments at his humongous desk, which was filled with books with the thickness of a fist and papers with complicated diagrams on them.

As they slowly walked toward the desks, Juin could not help but look at the study room. Rather to call it a study room, it was more appropriate to call it a library. Books upon books, shelves upon shelves, the entire room looked like a very well-stocked library. Behind the desk where President Presley was sitting was a flight of Victorian stairs that could bring people up to the second floor of the room, where more books were contained.

From a first glance, Juin could feel the auras emitted by some of the books. Even Lucifer felt it as well, and he murmured, "Books from different worlds… This place is a treasure c.h.e.s.t!"

Juin nodded silently. When he got to the desk, President Presley was still reading the doc.u.ments, and he placed a hand to signal Juin to wait.

And so, Juin and Cyrus just stood there. Cyrus was busy looking around at everything, but Juin's attention was captured by the papers strewn on Presley's table.

"Spells…" Juin thought, clearly recognizing some of the spells. When he saw a diagram on one of the papers, he thought curiously, "That seems like something from Alercane…"

Over the last few weeks, Juin had learned a lot of spells, and diagrams, from Tucker, as well as Lucifer. While teaching him about the spells, they also taught him the origins of the spells, especially the dimensions that the spells originated from.

And the one particular spell he saw on Lucifer's table was definitely from Alercane. Having dealt with different types of flame-based spells recently, he could tell that this spell had a flame element in it.

"Oh?" President Presley noticed that Juin was staring at it, so he asked, "Do you recognize it?"

Juin quickly blinked and shook his head. He then quickly thought of something and said, "I just thought the patterns of the diagram is kind of interesting…"

If he had admitted it, he feared that Presley would know that the demon within him was from Alercane. Having known the history and fate of vampires in Alercane, Juin was slightly worried that if Presley had known that the foreign demon soul within him was Lucifer, he might decide to kill him right on spot, without waiting for him to grow stronger.

Even if he did not know the identity of the demon soul within Juin, with the bad blood between the vampires and demons of Alercane, there was no guarantee that Presley would allow someone who was housing an Alercane demon to live.

As such, Juin would do his best to keep Lucifer's identity and origins a secret. And so far, other than Warlock, no one else knew where Lucifer hailed from, so he was good for now.

Juin looked at Presley and asked, "Did you find this?"

Presley smiled creepily as he touched the paper with the diagram, as if he knew about something that Juin did not. "This is something that I'm designing… It's incomplete… It's a flame-based spell. Do you want to learn it?"

"Don't learn it…" Lucifer warned, floating closer to Juin. "That spell… Even though it would suit you, something's not right about it…"

Juin smiled as he answered Presley politely, "Maybe not now, since you said that it's incomplete. Mr. Tucker said that an incomplete spell could cause an irreversible backlash, and at my current level, I better stick to something that's more established so that I don't harm my soul power reserve."

Hearing Juin's politically correct reply, Presley chuckled and waved a hand nonchalantly. "Don't worry. Even if you want to learn, I won't let you learn something that's incomplete. I was just testing you to see what Tucker has been teaching you since you got here."

"Mr. Tucker has been helping me with endurance training as well as teaching me more about the supernatural world."

"Great…" President Presley snapped his fingers, and the papers strewn on his table immediately gathered themselves into a pile and sat at a corner quietly. "I was a little worried at first since Tucker had never had a student before you. I was wondering if I needed to assign you another teacher, but it looks like I don't have to do so."

He then looked at Cyrus, and he narrowed his eyes for a while before asking, "So… This is Cyrus?"

Leaning back in his leather chair, he said with a smile, "I don't think we have met before… or did we?"

For some reason, Cyrus was trembling as he hid behind Juin. He took a quick glance at Presley, and after a while, he shook his head nervously and looked up at Juin with a helpless expression.

"Cyrus is a bit shy…" Juin said, wondering what was wrong with Cyrus. It was unusual for him to act so timidly. Usually, the kid was really noisy and boisterous, even when he was around people like Tucker who was stronger than him.

"Oh?" Presley continued to stare at Cyrus with a cold gaze. "I heard from Spencer that Cyrus was a friendly kid… Come, Cyrus… Let me have a look at you. I'm your foster father after all…"
