In just a few minutes' time, the names were announced.

"No way…" Juin sighed when he saw the name of his opponent on the list that was currently being distributed out to everyone. "Paul Patterson. Isn't he… only 10?" Juin looked at Tucker, hoping to be proven wrong.

Sadly, he was right. Juin had met the boy briefly, while they were on the way to Atlantis from Earth. The boy, Paul, was extremely gentle and was constantly stuck to his teacher's side, ignoring most people who tried to talk to him.

"Well, I guess… Just try not to hurt him too much," Tucker said with a chuckle. "Oh, come on! Given that most of the participants are younger than you, you should know that there's a high chance for you to be paired with at least one kid."

"I can't beat up a kid!" Juin pointed out. He then pointed at the kid who was now talking to his teacher and said, "I'd be made fun of by everyone! He's like half my size!"

"Its not like he's a defenseless kid, and it's not that bad! He's just a little smaller than you," Tucker said in a bored tone as he waved a hand nonchalantly. He then raised a brow and looked at Juin as he said with a strict tone, "And if you are thinking of holding back… Let me tell you something. If you don't beat him, he's going to beat you up… The stake is high this year, don't forget that. That kid might look gentle, but he's not weak. If he is, there's no way he would be here."

Juin gulped and nodded. Behind him, Cyrus winked at Tucker, greatly relieved Tucker's worry.

"So, which arena are we using?" Tucker asked, looking over at the paper that Juin was holding. Other than the royal arena, there were three smaller arenas nearby, which were mostly used for training the guards on normal days. In order to expedite the elimination battle, King Frederic opened up the training arenas as well.

As a result, there were many people who had now got up and left the arena.

"Err…" Juin glanced down at the information on the list and said, "Actually, it's this one."

"Nice!" Tucker exclaimed and stretched his back. "I'm a little too lazy to move around anyway."

"Oh, Saville will be fighting his first round here too, and he's right before you!" Cyrus said as he pointed at the paper where Saville's name was written.

Juin was about to sit down when he saw Lann walking nearby and he quickly waved her over. When she was near, Juin asked, "Ms. Lann, what are you doing here? Luca's fight is about to start right?"

Lann smiled and sat next to him before saying, "I trained him, so naturally, I know his strength. I trust that Luca will do well even without me. He's strong enough to handle himself."

She then looked at Juin with a gentle gaze as she said, "I'm more interested in watching you fight."

"Ha!" Tucker snorted. "You're just here to watch Juin so that you can take a look at his strength and tell your student how to fight back!"

Hearing him, Lann chuckled and nodded. "Well, he is my student's opponent after all. And we did have a bet."

"See, Juin," Tucker said, looking at Juin, "you can't trust anyone…"

"Oh, come on, Tucker…" Lann laughed softly. "It's not as if you won't do the same thing. If it's not because this is Juin's first official battle, you'd have gone to watch Luca's fight as well."

Tucker merely snorted again and folded his arms.

Meanwhile, Juin ignored the bickering of the elders as he looked over to where the royals were at earlier. Crown Prince Renaud, First Princess Iris, and Princess Cecile were gone. Juin saw them splitting up earlier, and they were moving in the directions of the other three arenas, no doubt going to watch those that they were interested in.

"I wonder what they are talking about," Juin thought as he watched them. Those two appeared to be close to each other. When he saw that President Presley was looking back at him, Juin immediately turned his head away, looking down at the two young participants who were getting ready for the battle.

Yet the feeling that he was being stared at remained, causing him to shiver slightly.

DONGGGG!!!

Thankfully, the announcement of the beginning of the first battle diverted the gaze of President Presley, as well as everyone else.

At the royal arena, the first two participants were two elementary school children who were both descendants of supernatural beings. One of them was the descendant of a blue snake, and the moment she got up onto the stage, she quickly activated her bloodline, giving her body some blueish strips.

And when the strips fully appeared, her aura had also increased substantially.

As for her opponent, a boy who descended from a fox shapeshifter, quickly turned into a fox triple his size, tearing his clothes into strips as he shapeshifted.

"Oh, that's Xiao Hu," Tucker told Juin. "Even though the first fox shapeshifter in his family was about four generations ago, Xiao Hu managed to inherit most of the fox's blood. Usually, the descendants would be like the girl, Mimi, there, where they could only activate partially…"

He then nodded slowly. "This won't be much of an interesting battle to watch… Maybe I should take a nap…"

"Huh?" Juin looked at Lann for explanation, for he knew that his teacher, who had already closed his eyes, would be too lazy to explain.

"For the shapeshifters, the more you can activate, the stronger you will be, because that means that you have inherited more of the original strength of the first supernatural being in the family. Of course, it's different among the supernatural beings," Lann explained patiently. "The werewolves, for example. They are either werewolves or humans. Except for young Wolfe, anyone else who couldn't turn would be humans. They won't be able to inherit the power of the werewolves. At most, they would be gifted with strength and speed. But nothing that would make them important members of a werewolf family."
