"Err…" Juin felt awkward all of a sudden. He scratched the back of his head and glanced around for a while before saying with a small smile, "I didn't see anything…"

Really, how should one act in this type of situation?

Princess Cecile quickly wiped her tears away with the sleeve of her shirt before saying in a soft voice, "I'm sorry… I let my emotions get the better of me."

"It's fine!" Juin quickly said.

He hesitated for a while before asking, "How are you doing so far?"

"Other than being afraid that I might be secretly killed off… I think I'm doing pretty well…" Princess Cecile said. She then signaled Juin to take a seat at the table and sat down opposite him. Glancing at the untouched food on the table, she added, "I'm not sure if they would actually kill me or if they would just let me starve myself to death out of fear."

Juin glanced at it. He then searched through his pocket and found a small silk pouch that had some Atlantean candies in them. Handing it to Cecile, he said, "I'm supposed to keep watch of this for Cyrus because he's been eating too many candies lately, but you can have it. I'll just tell him that I ate them all."

Cecile looked at the inside of the small pouch and took out a small violet candy. After looking at it for a few seconds, she popped it into her mouth. "Thank you, Juin… This is really good."

"I'm sure everything would be fine once they are done with the investigation," Juin said with conviction on his face.

Cecile smiled at him. "Juin… Did you hear any investigation going on?"

Her words alerted Juin, and he quickly thought about the events after the meeting with the king. Everything remained… normal. Even though people talked about the princess' alleged crime, he did not see any soldiers being dispatched to protect the castle, nor did he hear anything about the strengthening of the defense wall.

"I… Maybe I missed out on something?" he said with uncertainty.

"I will tell you what Frederic would do," Cecile said with a sigh as she kept the pouch in her pocket. "He will make a huge case of me being a traitor, letting everyone know about the leak of the weakness in our defense. This will ensure that whoever left who still sympathize with me will turn their back on me, claiming that I'm just a traitor like my ancestor who betrayed everyone in our world. With this, it would also kill off the hope of those who wish to see me ascend the throne, by making them believe that I would do such a stupid thing that would harm the safety of our citizens just because I wanted the throne.

"They will associate me with Atlas, denounce my worth just because I inherited Atlas' blood.

"And Frederic… He will send out a few 'investigators', but these investigators are merely a front; a show," Cecile said with a blank expression, as if she were just telling a story of her daily life.

"And he will make sure that the investigation proceeds quickly, perhaps in the matter of days. The longer he drags this on, the harder it will be. And he will somehow miraculously find damning evidence, and to teach everyone a lesson that a royal will not be pardoned from the act of betraying the country, he will execute me swiftly. And I can assure you that everything will happen in the next few days."

"No way…" Juin frowned. "At least, we still have some time. I will try to find evidence that can help you… even though I have no idea where to start yet. But I'm sure it won't happen until after the fight!"

Cecile looked at Juin with a curious expression as she asked, "Fight?"

"I have agreed to join Luca and Wolfe for the friendly spar with Crown Prince Renaud."

Cecile thought for a moment, and after a while, she laughed, but her tone suggested it was anything but positive. It was more depreciating than anything else.

"Your Highness?"

"What's wrong?" he asked.

Looking at him with soft, defeated eyes, she then answered, "That's the day Frederic will make his move."

"What?"

"The one reason why Frederic hasn't made a move on me is because of Renaud. To avoid any rebellion from killing off the last child of the valiant King Adam, he must proceed carefully. Not only did he have to ensure that my death will end all thoughts of rebellions, but he must have made sure that no one would suspect him of getting rid of his last competition. In addition, Renaud. He must have known what his son feels about me.

"Even though we are cousins, I have long known Renaud's feelings for me. He will never act on it, but he will definitely protect me through the end of his life," Cecile said with a sad smile as flashes of memories of her growing up with Renaud passed through her mind. She then looked at Juin and said, "On the day of the battle, Frederic's evidence will be found, and he will set the execution time to be on the time of the battle."

Juin's eyes widened slightly upon hearing that. "You… sure?"

Cecile nodded.

"This is outrageous!" Juin grabbed his knees as he wondered how a man could be so cruel as to get rid of his niece just to protect his own interests. If Cecile was right, Frederic had almost completely alienated her from the citizens of Terre D'eau. If so, was there a reason for him to push her to her death?

"I didn't want to do much…" Juin admitted as he looked at Cecile. "I am told not to participate or intervene in things that are out of my control… But I can't just sit by…"

"Thank you, Juin," Princess Cecile said. "You don't have to participate… This is between me and the evil man who took all my family away; the one who killed my defenseless little brother cruelly and pretended to cry at his funeral."

Her smooth, slightly-tanned hands trembled from being kept in tight fists.

"But…" Juin wanted to say something, but what could he say?

And so, to help him, she added, "This is my war. I just need your help for one thing."

"What? Tell me. As long as I can help, I will."

Cecile's smile got brighter, and she leaned closer as she disclosed her plan to Juin.
