Chapter 47: MICHY IS A WHORE

The series of conversations greeted his sense of hearing, but Azren couldn't quite grasp what did they mean. That was why he could only remain frozen at the door.
The demon was still confused at the door, and he was surprised when someone suddenly pushed his body to the side. And in the same position where he was standing earlier, CM was glaring at the people in the room.
"I dare you to repeat yourself."
His first impression of CM was that the girl was arrogant and carefree. He thought that the girl was the type to have a lot of money and would freely spend it without any worries. He also assumed that the girl would not care about her surroundings.
That was why Azren was surprised when he saw CM's serious attitude all of a sudden. He didn't understand what was going on, and his frown deepened as he watched the room turn quiet after the people in the room heard how the young girl was rebuking them.
The girl must have been much younger than all of them, but they seemed scared when they saw the girl's wrath. Azren was confused, and his brain formed a lot of questions he wanted to ask right now.
Unfortunately, he didn't have the time to question the girl because the said girl suddenly pulled his arm and dragged him away from the staff room. Azren gasped in surprise.
"Hi! Where are you going to take me to?" He questioned the girl, but the said girl gave him no answer.
He forcefully followed the girl, but he was still able to glance at the staff room one more time. Unfortunately, the door to the room closed automatically after they left, so he couldn't see what kind of expressions the employees were making now.
CM just stopped dragging him when they reached another room. The room was very different from the previous room because instead of a few tables and a few chairs, he could see a set of sofas that looked very comfortable. He also didn't see anyone in the room, and he could heave a sigh of relief that no one was judging him in the room.
"You can sit down first," CM finally opened her mouth to give him an instruction.
Maybe the girl didn't feel the need to answer the blonde's question because the blonde should know what kind of room they were in right now. It was a lounge.
One question was answered, but other questions in his head remained unanswered. Even so, Azren decided to bring himself to comply with the girl's order. He didn't utter any words as he sat himself down on the black leather couch. He was quite tired, anyway.
The demon expected that CM would sit down on the couch as well, but he was wrong because the girl just turned her heel and headed somewhere instead. Azren finally noticed a fridge not too far from the couch.
The blonde watched the girl silently, and his emerald eyes followed her every move. He could see how the girl opened the fridge and took out a bottle of mineral water. The black-haired girl then gulped the water hungrily as if she had just run a marathon without stopping.
Azren suddenly felt thirsty too because he hadn't drunk anything since he arrived at the building. The green-eyed man hoped that the girl would offer him a bottle of water, but he had to erase the hope from his heart because the girl had closed the fridge door without taking another bottle for him.
He shouldn't have expected that kind of thing from a strange girl like her.
Azren chose to remain quiet, and his eyes just kept following the girl's movement until she sat on another couch.
"So, have you found the answer to your question?"
A pair of blonde eyebrows raised automatically after the owner heard the girl's question. "Which question?" He asked back innocently instead of answering the question.
A pair of dark obsidian rolled lazily upon hearing the question. "This is a question about why Michy asked you to wait for him in the staff room instead of this comfortable lounge. Have you figured it out yet?"
CM had just explained more about her previous question, but Azren was still frowning at her. 'But I never asked that question,' he thought to himself.
Azren indeed had never asked that question because he thought the answer was obvious. The answer was because Michy didn't want him to find a comfortable place to wait, right? Or... that was not the real answer?
The blonde recalled the memory again, and he just remembered Michy's warning before they arrived at the Seventius building.
["It's your first time coming to the agency building, right? Don't be surprised when we get there."]
Right. Michy did give him such a warning, but he didn't link the warning to the incident in the staff room earlier. He also just remembered the incident in the elevator as well. The employees ignored Michy like he was an invisible ghost, and maybe that had something to do with the incident in the staff room as well.
Azren mentally slapped his forehead because he was too late to connect the dots.
"So, Michy wanted me to see that the employees in this company don't like him?"
CM's gaze turned gloomy all of a sudden upon hearing the question, and it stunned Azren.
"Yeah," she answered. "Michy is not good with words, so maybe he didn't want to explain to you about the real situation. That's why he wanted you to see it yourself."
Azren was puzzled because the girl's attitude had completely changed now. She was no longer the arrogant or grumpy girl who didn't hesitate to scold the employees at the company. The girl in front of him looked so fragile with the amount of pain in her gaze.
"But, why did the employees in the company don't like Michy?" Azren was curious, and he was sure that Michy's life was more complex than he thought.
CM seemed hesitant, but then she replied, "In their eyes, Michy is a whore who is willing to sell his body to be able to debut as an idol."
