PLEASE READ THIS FIRST:

I don’t know if someone has already obtained a license for this or is already working on this project, so I thought I might translate a few chapters.  This is a fan translation, and a MTL one. I can’t read Chinese, so it’s very possible that some of this is mistranslated. Don’t like it, then don’t read it. I don’t have an editor, and my English isn’t great. Please forgive my mistakes, and let me know where I messed up. I’m doing this on my spare time, so I don’t have a schedule. Don’t expect consistent releases. This novel is up for pick-up. If you want to take over this project, or obtained a license for it, please let me know.

“Waiter, bring a pot of tea! I want a cold one!” Ling Xiaolu sat down in the tea house, feeling hot while opening his mouth wide to gasp.

This time was the worst hour of the afternoon, the sun overhead burning the earth. Looking in the distance, the earth was so hot it appeared to be smoking. White mist distorted the desolate forked road.

The waiter brought over the tea. Ling Xiaolu ignored the tea cup and directly grabbed the tea pot before pouring it into his mouth, only stopping to take a breath after most of the pot was empty. He wiped the sweat on his forehead with his sleeve.

Suddenly, a young man’s voice came from the roadside: “Whose horse is this?”

Ling Xiaolu turned his head to look, and in front of the young man was Zhao Yue, who was tied to the wooden stake outside the tea house. This tall, snow white horse was left to him after his Senior Martial Brother left. He rode it for several days, determined to catch up to his Senior Martial Brother.

Hearing the young man’s words, Ling Xiaolu stood up and said, “It’s mine.”

The young man looked over, and upon seeing it was an ordinary boy around his age, he grabbed a bag of silver on his body and threw it over. “I’m buying him.”

Ling Xiaolu was stunned, and subconsciously caught the bag. He felt the hefty weight of the bag in his hand, and felt it was not enough to buy Senior Martial Brother’s Zhao Yue. Furthermore, he disliked the young man’s arrogant tone and he immediately said angrily, “Can you afford him?”

The young man asked, “That’s not enough?”

Ling Xiaolu grabbed the bag of silver and threw it back at the young man, hitting the young man hard on the shoulder, and sneered, “You couldn’t afford him even if I was selling!”

The young man who was hurt from the blow took two steps back while shouting loudly, “Do you know who I am?”

Ling Xiaolu stepped forward and untied the rope tying the horse. “I don’t care who you are!”

The young man said angrily, “I am a member of the Wulin Alliance! Our Alliance Leader wants to buy your horse, quickly take the silver and leave the horse!”

“Wulin Alliance?” Ling Xiaolu was slightly taken aback, then said, “Senior Martial Brother said that Cheng Mo is a true hero, how can you use his name to do despicable things like robbing others! You can’t scare me, I don’t believe you!”

The young man was about to refute, but heard a light voice say, “Well said,” from behind. The young man quickly turned around, bowed, and called out, “Alliance Leader.”

Ling Xiaolu followed his gaze and saw two men at the fork of the road approaching slowly on horseback. The first one was wearing a blue robe, and he looked handsome. He looked at Lin Xiaolu with a mild smile. The man behind him was dressed in a snow-white robe, with a crown on his head and a long sword on his back. He had a clear but solemn face, only a little cinnabar mole between the eyebrows added a bright color.

The man in blue came in front of Ling Xiaolu and dismounted. He bowed to Ling Xiaolu and said, “This younger brother has been offended.”

Ling Xiaolu looked at the person in front of him, and hesitated for a moment, then was stunned for a long time. He said with wide eyes: “Are you really Cheng Mo?”

The man in blue smiled and said, “I am Cheng Mo, and that is my book boy, Cheng San. We were in a hurry on the road and accidentally injured a horse. I asked him to find someone to buy a horse, but offended this younger brother with his arrogance. May I apologize to you?”

Ling Xiaolu quickly said: “No need to apologize, no need to apologize! I didn’t expect you to really be the Wulin Alliance Leader!”

At this time, the young taoist who was with Cheng Mo also slowly walked over to the two of them. He looked at Zhao Yue, who was held by Ling Xiaolu, and asked,  “Are you selling?”

Ling Xiaolu raised his chest and said, “Not selling!”

The taoist indifferently said, “Then forget it, let’s quickly get moving.”

Cheng Mo said to the taoist, “Zi Xiao, are you thirsty? How about we rest here for a while.”

The taoist called Huo Zi Xiao was noncommittal. Cheng Mo tied up his horse and walked to the tea shop, and called for the waiter to bring two pots of tea.

Ling Xiaolu sat down at the same table as them and asked, “Is Alliance Leader Cheng returning to the Wulin Alliance?”

Cheng Mo responded: “Yes, I should have stayed in the Wulin Alliance to organize the triennial Wulin Conference. Unexpectedly, last month the Qi Yun Mountain thieves were causing trouble, and thus had to go in person. Fortunately, midway, Zi Xiao came in time to help remove the bandits.”

Ling Xiaolu looked at Zi Xiao, and asked, “Dare I ask if this is the real Zi Xiao from Yun Yang Mountain’s Yunyang Shandao Sect?

Cheng Mo laughed: “He is.”

Ling Xiaolu’s mouth opened in shock. He didn’t expect that this young and handsome taoist was actually the Sect Leader of Yun Yang Mountain Daoist Sect, the number one sect in the world.

Ling Xiaolu’s experience in Jianghu was shallow. This was the first time he walked in Jianghu by himself, and did not expect to run into these two famous people.

Whether or not Alliance Leader Cheng Mo’s martial arts was the best in the world was unknown to Ling Xiaolu, but this person has been a legend his whole life. His father was the previous Wulin Alliance Leader, and he(Cheng Mo) was even the student of Old Man Qingsong. It is rumored that Old Man Qingsong won the title of number one martial artist after defeating the top eight exponents of Jianghu using the Jieyang martial arts, before retiring from Jianghu forever.
