The Wulin Alliance’s Private Records Chapter 34

I’ve picked up this novel from Hanuchu! I’ve tried to keep the novel specific terms consistent with how they have translated it.
I’m not super fluent in Mandarin, so if you spot any mistakes please let me know (❁´◡`❁)

Yu Qin said: “Don’t refuse. If it weren’t for you, I would have died on the cliff already. Just count it as me caring more about living, I’ll help you as much as I can.”
Cheng Mo was lost in his thoughts for a while before he sighed heavily: “I didn’t save you thinking about getting a reward. I will remember your kindness.”
Now that Cheng Mo made his decision, he sent a letter to the Wulin Alliance to inform Hui Ji about the journey before setting off with Yu Qin to the Shuiyue Sect. The path Yu Qin took Cheng Mo was towards the southwest. She never mentioned the location of the Shuiyue Sect so Cheng Mo did not ask her about it either. Yu Qin did say to Cheng Mo that when they arrive at the Shuiyue Sect, he should listen to everything she says. Cheng Mo agreed. On their journey, Cheng Mo was shocked to find out that the news of Hui Ji’s escape from Shaolin had already spread through the Central Plains’ Jianghu. Everywhere they passed through, they heard people talking about Hui Ji. The thing that they talked the most about was the massacre that shocked the Jianghu ten years ago. The four major families to the south of the Yangtze river died overnight and no one was left behind!

A young man who had not heard of Hui Ji’s name before couldn’t help being shocked and said in a daze: “This demon is too scary, I don’t know if Master Qing Song can come back to the Jianghu?”
Another person answered: “I’m afraid it’s difficult for Master Qing Song to come back to the Jianghu. We might be able to count on his apprentice, Leader Cheng.”
The youth asked: “Is Leader Cheng Hui Ji’s opponent?”
The other person replied: “It’s hard to say, after all he is Master Qing Song’s direct disciple.”
Cheng Mo and Yu Qin were listening to those people talking while drinking tea.
Seeing Cheng Mo’s solemn expression, Yu Qin asked: “Are you worried about meeting that Hui Ji person?”
Cheng Mo sighed softly before setting down his teacup and said: “I’m just worried about what he would do, after all…” Cheng Mo trailed off before shaking his head and smiling at Yu Qin.

The further southwest they travelled, the more surprised he was by the local customs. In several large towns in the southwest, it was common to see women of different races dressed in risqué clothing and tall and big men of different races. Cheng Mo tried his best to keep a low profile so that no one would figure out his identity. After passing through a small town, Yu Qin said to Cheng Mo: “Sorry if this offends you, but I will need to cover your eyes for the rest of the journey.”
Cheng Mo agreed. Yu Qin took a piece of black cloth and folded it a few times before covering Cheng Mo’s eyes and securing it with a knot at the back of his head. Once that was done, she said: “It’s because I have not received approval from our Sect Leader.”
Cheng Mo nodded: “I understand, Jiejie please don’t worry about it. I will listen to whatever you say.”
The next day Yu Qin rented a carriage and supported Cheng Mo onto it before continuing the journey. Cheng Mo was blindfolded, so he spent the time on the carriage chatting with Yu Qin. His days weren’t considered tough. After travelling for another three to four days, Yu Qin helped Cheng Mo get off the carriage in front of a forest before paying the carriage driver.

Yu Qin said to Cheng Mo: “I’ll lead the way, please don’t move around randomly. There are poisonous insects throughout this forest, one misstep could take your life.”
Cheng Mo nodded solemnly.
As he couldn’t see anything, he could only rely on Yu Qin. He could hear the constant chirping of birds and insects, as he walked he could feel a thick layer of leaves on the ground. Yu Qin led him through many turns and kept walking further into the forest. After walking for almost four hours, Cheng Mo could hear the sound of trickling water.

Beside him, Yu Qin said: “We’re almost there.”
Cheng Mo hummed in acknowledgement and at the same time he heard two sets of footsteps approaching from the distance. In front of them were two women, Cheng Mo heard them come to a stop in front of them and loudly question Yu Qin: “Yu Qin! How dare you bring an outsider to our Sect? And a man at that!”
Yu Qin let go of Cheng Mo and knelt down on the ground. “I know I have committed a crime. This gentleman here is Cheng Mo, I have brought him back here to see the Sect Leader.”
One of the women sarcastically said: “Are you able to see the Sect Leader whenever you want to?”
Yu Qin bowed her head and pleaded: “Jiejie could I please bother you to let the Sect Leader know.”
The other woman scoffed: “Who is he, how dare-“

She was cut off by another woman who was approaching them: “The Sect Leader would like to invite this gentleman in!”
Cheng Mo heard the third woman’s footsteps come closer before stopping in front of them and saying: “Remove his blindfold and let him follow me.”
The other two women were taken aback.
Yu Qin got up quickly and untied the black cloth around Cheng Mo’s head. As he hadn’t used his eyes for a while, he wasn’t used to the light and couldn’t help squinting his eyes. It was only then that he noticed that there were tall trees all around them with dense branches and leaves overhead that covered the sky, making it difficult to distinguish day from night. On the trunk of a tree next to them, there was a snake circling around it with a letter in its mouth. In front of Cheng Mo and Yu Qin, there were three young women. One of them had a beautiful face and she was dressed in red. She said to Cheng Mo: “My lord, please follow me.”
Cheng Mo nodded but turned to Yu Qin and asked: “What about you?”
Yu Qin replied: “The Sect Leader wants to see you, go quickly, you don’t have to worry about me.”
The woman dressed in red chimed in: “Yes my lord, you don’t have to worry. Please follow me.”
