Chapter 16

Chloe was hastily arranged to go to the legendary No.1 Military Academy.

She felt it was quite unbelievable that she was going to military school before even graduating from elementary school.

Chloe tried to protest, but to no avail.

In the end, she unhappily returned to her room alone.

After returning, Chloe looked at herself in the mirror with displeasure, her gaze settling unfavorably on the mouthguard. Finally, she made a very ferocious expression.

She didn't like the feeling of wearing a mouthguard. It made Chloe feel restrained.

Her whole body felt uncomfortable.

Unfortunately, Chloe also knew that she couldn't take off the mouthguard. After all, her teeth were still a little itchy.

It was just that after leaving Xavier Academy, this symptom had improved slightly.

Just as Chloe was staring blankly at herself in the mirror, there was a faint rustling sound from outside the window.

She turned her head to see a pale hand push open the window and climb in from outside.

The person had platinum blonde hair, emerald green eyes, chiseled features, and a gaze that betrayed a calmness unbefitting someone of the same age.

It was Anderson.

Realizing this, Chloe turned her head back and continued looking at herself in the mirror. She casually said:

"Ran out of ointment?"

Anderson raised his eyes and looked at her through the mirror: "I don't need that stuff anymore."

"Then what are you here for?"

As she spoke, Chloe turned around. She leaned lazily against the dressing table, looking at ease at the boy opposite her.

The current Anderson was very different from before. That childish pitifulness and innocence had disappeared without a trace at some point, leaving only deliberately sheathed edges. His whole person looked like a weathered treasure sword ― cold and detached.

Seeing the boy lower his head, looking very dejected, Chloe raised her eyebrows and couldn't help but laugh out loud.

She randomly grabbed a hair tie from the dressing table and tossed it to Anderson, laughing and saying:

"Why do you always look so depressed? Here, your hair is getting long, remember to tie it up properly."

Chloe touched the mouthguard on her face, hesitated for a moment. Seeing Anderson raise his head to look at her at this moment, she immediately said viciously:

"What are you looking at? Haven't seen a mouthguard before?"

Anderson's gaze was calm. Then he honestly shook his head.

Chloe looked him up and down, then her gaze fell to the corner of his mouth, a playful smile on her face: "Oh, I forgot, your fangs haven't grown in yet."

That was true, Anderson did not have fangs.

His face showed no anger, he just said, "I'm a mixed blood, so I'm weaker than pure-blooded vampires from the start."

"Is that so?" Chloe tapped her fingers on the table, neither affirming nor denying it.

For Anderson to be appointed by Kewen to protect her showed that he was formidable.

At least Kewen, who had always disliked Anderson before, had now recognized his strength.

Thinking of this, Chloe felt a little frustrated again.

They were both so powerful, so why was only Chloe forced to wear a mouthguard?

Just thinking that she would most likely have to wear this mouthguard to her new school made Chloe's scalp tingle.

Damn it, she was so sick of this world!

......

A few days later, Chloe packed her bags, with Anderson following behind, and got on Kewen's motorcycle.

The two had grown a lot now and had to squeeze together to fit on the bike.

Chloe skillfully put on her helmet. She had temporarily taken off the mouthguard and was holding it in her hand. Her tone was casual:

"Carrying two people on a motorcycle violates traffic laws."

Kewen: "..."

He impatiently said, "Don't worry, it won't kill you if we crash."

It certainly wouldn't kill her, but Chloe was still a little reluctant: "Why can't we take a car?"

Kewen justified himself: "Because I don't have a driver's license. I only know how to ride a motorcycle."

Now it was Chloe's turn to be speechless.

"Can I request someone else to take me to the airport?"

Kewen rejected it outright: "No."

Having said that, he turned to look at Chloe, then looked past her at Anderson behind. His brows furrowed slightly.

Kewen still didn't like Anderson much, but Anderson was the most outstanding of this batch of Death Warrior trainees. He had an aura about him ― namely, fearlessness in the face of death.

Others would leave themselves a way out for the sake of winning, but Anderson was different.

Kewen had made time to watch Anderson fight before. The kid was reckless. If he couldn't win, he'd rather take his opponent down with him.

Tsk, young but skilled.

The motorcycle sped along, soon arriving at the airport.

In the vampire domain, most of the public facilities were privately owned by Xavier Academy, including the aristocratic airport they were at now.

The aristocratic youths who would appear at this airport at this time were basically all going to enroll at the No.1 Military Academy.

After getting here, Kewen could go no further.

Looking at the somewhat empty airport, he couldn't help but sigh, "Ah, it's been thousands of years since I last took this flight."

Chloe glanced at him. "You're pretty damn old."

Kewen: "..."

He raised the corners of his lips. "The young miss is absolutely right."

The young miss was more fun when they first met―cold, fierce, and at least she wouldn't stab people with words like now.

Chloe also felt that she had become less and less proper as she grew up, just like Kewen―lazy and sarcastic, and possibly even more venomous.

She looked at the signboard in the distance, and suddenly thought of something. Turning around, she asked Kewen enthusiastically: "By the way, you and Xavier Academy went to the No.1 Military Academy together back then too, right?"

Kewen had long stopped correcting Chloe when she called Xavier Academy just Xavier instead of Father King or Daddy. He just slightly raised his brows, with some pride: "Of course, His Majesty was the most outstanding graduate of that cohort."

Chloe's mouth curved up, but her next words changed the topic: "I saw you when you were little. You weren't as good-looking as Anderson back then."

As soon as she said this, Kewen froze for a moment, surprisingly not responding to the derogatory remark. Instead, he asked, "How did the young miss see that?"

"The enrollment photo."

Kewen immediately recalled it, his expression complicated.

His Majesty had always been vague about Kewen wearing a mouthguard in the past. If someone so much as mentioned half a sentence about it, His Majesty could blast them into smithereens.

Let alone taking out photos to show others.

Although it wasn't showing others, but his own daughter Chloe.

Kewen felt that he had still underestimated the extent of His Majesty's indulgence towards the young miss.

However... Looking at the young miss chatting casually with Anderson in the distance, Kewen thought to himself.

Really, if His Majesty was unwilling to part with her, he could have come to send her off himself. What's with the pretense?
