"Enough of that now." Das pointed his finger at the notepad and said, "Focus on that."

"Heh. Getting all serious when it comes to you."

"Shut up."

Elena started reading, and Das was getting bored.

'I have nothing to do.'

'And I can't concentrate on reports because of that broken chair and the bloodstain.'

Sigh~

"What's with that sigh? Am I boring you?" Elena asked.

"Das leaned back to the chair and said, "It's nothing."

"You sound bored to me."

"I am always bored, nothing new."

"That is… true."

'At least try to deny it'!', Das thought as he sighed again.

"Why are you always bored?"

"..."

'I knew she would ask that.'

"Just focus on the lessons."

"Don't you have something you can have fun with?"

"Nope"

"Like games?"

"Would you believe me if I said I have never played any game in my life?"

"If you say there are two suns, then I would believe it, but I can't believe that you have never played any games in your life."

Das shrugged his shoulder and said, "That's how my life is. Boring to the core."

Elena stared at Das into his eyes and said, "I don't feel any life from you."

"You might be right."

'I don't have anything to enjoy in this life.'

"Don't you have something you can have fun with?"

"You asked the same thing some seconds ago."

"I will ask again and again until you answer."

"I already answered it" He looked at the window and said, "I have nothing."

"Don't you have any friends?"

"I don't."

"Not even a single one?"

"Nope"

"You don't have any siblings, so you can't play with them either."

"..."

"You have a cousin, right?"

"How… do you know that?"

"I don't know."

"Well, our parents were friends, so I guess we might have met when we were kids?"

Elena's eyes sparkled as she got up and said, "Really?"

"I am just saying. Don't get worked up on small things."

Elena smiled widely and said, "These small things are what makes life happy."

"I doubt that," he muttered.

"Why?"

'She heard it?!'

"I don't get it," Das sighed.

"What?"

"What's the meaning of being happy?"

Elena's eyes widened as she gulped down and looked at Das.

"Have you… have you ever felt happiness?"

"I don't remember one."

"You are darker than I imagined."

"Hmm?"

Elena shook her head and said, "I will make your life happy."

Das frowned his eyes and said, "If you can focus on your lesson, I will be happy."

She turned her face to the other side and muttered, "If that really made you happy, then I would study all day for you."

"Hmm? What did you say? Study all day?"

"It's nothing" She pointed her finger at Das and said, "Don't disturb me. I am trying to concentrate"

'I want to punch her!'

Das sighed as he leaned back to the chair and closed his eyes.

'Happiness, huh? I hardly feel anything, so I don't really know anything about happiness.'

He then opened his eyes and thought, 'But I somehow know that feeling. Maybe I am missing it with satisfaction?'

'I feel satisfied when I see the faces of my enemy are in despair. Does that count as happiness?'

"I wonder if satisfaction and happiness are the same things."

"Hmm? How do they look the same to you?" Elena looked at Das in shock.

"They aren't?"

Elena shook her head and said, "There is a difference of sun and moon between them."

"That big?!"

"Yes. Satisfaction is only a one-time thing. Even if it lasts long, it will end one day. And you will never feel satisfied with that same thing again."

"Is that so?"

"And happiness is something you can achieve on every small thing. You will never lack it. And you will surely long for it if you don't have it."

'I… long for happiness?'

"No, you don't," said Elena.

"I didn't even say anything."

"I can tell what you were thinking."

Das' eyes widened as he said, "Then what do I lack and what do I long for?"

Elena's gaze followed Das as she said, "You don't long for anything, nor do you lack anything. It's all just about the feelings, and feelings need to be experienced with emotions."

"It sounds cool when you put it into words, but It's the same thing."

"It is not"

"..."

'Why is she being so stubborn about this useless topic?'

"You have parents, right?"

"Of course I do," Das replied.

"And you love them, right?"

"..." Das didn't say anything and kept staring at Elena.

Elena started sweating and asked again, "Right?"

"I guess you can say that. They are my parents after all."

Elena bit her lips and said, "You are really an…!"

"Why are you getting angry?"

"I am not angry!"

"You are yelling."

"That's because of your half-assed replies."

"..."

'She just cussed.'

Das scratched his head and said, "I don't know what exactly do you mean but, I do love my parents."

"..."

"You see, I am kind of...no, I am horrible at understanding emotions, I can't even understand mine. So I stopped thinking about it."

Elena squinted her eyes as if she just got more annoyed and said, "You are just running away."

Das froze for a second and chuckled, saying, "I guess you can say that"

"Don't laugh!"

"I am not laughing. I just chuckled a little."

"Then don't chuckle!"

Das g.r.o.a.n.e.d and said, "What's wrong with you? Are you just trying to waste time?" He looked at his phone screen and said, "Just so you know, I won't let you go until you finish today's quota."

Elena's face twitched as she glared at Das and grabbed her notepad.

She closed everything and started packing up her bag.

"What are you doing?"

"I am not in the mood to study, so I am going home."

Das grabbed Elena's hand and said, "You can't go home. We have exams--"

Elena shrugged off his hand and said, "What do you care about?!"

"Huh?"

"Why do you care about it? Why do you care if I fail or pass?"

"I am your tutor."

"You are, but I am sure you just want to get rid of me, right?"

"That's… not true."

"You just averted your gaze; that means it was true."

"I admit I thought that at first, but not anymore."

"Lies!"

"I am not lying. I genuinely want you to advance the semester with me."

"Wha…"

Elena's face flushed, and all her annoyance vanished away.

She sat back on the chair as she took her notepad out and started studying.
