CHAPTER 26 – DON’T YOU GUYS WANT TO BEAT A DUNGEON?

November 7, 2020

I finally updated!!!

To be honest I’ve been feeling a little burned out recently and barely translated a few paragraphs each day for the past week or so. Good news is I think I’m getting into the translating mood again! I think… I hope I can post the next chapter soon though… *prays hard*

Ye Mingjun looked utterly unconcerned about getting wet, and returned to his normal state after transforming a fresh set of clothes for himself. Seeing this, Ji Mo realized that this person did not seem to know the concept of stripping, since he didn’t need to do the things that could be solved by a spell. This was really good news.

There were no mirrors in Ji Mo’s room at the Shrine, but mirrors were outfitted in the ark’s guest rooms. Now that he was letting Ye Mingjun play with his hair to continue his punishment, he finally took a good look at himself for the first time in ages.

Time had flown by too quickly, and without his knowing, the baby fat on his cheeks had gone away. Perhaps it was because he had been living in anxiety for the past few years, he had grown thinner, no matter how well-fed he was at the Shrine. Even his skin had turned several shades paler from holing up in his room all the time.

If there wasn’t a need, he never took down the hood that concealed his face whenever he was on missions, so his hair always hung down loosely from his head. With his hair tied up by Ye Mingjun, his neck bare, he finally gained the look of an energetic youth somewhat.

Ye Mingjun didn’t seem to like seeing him conceal himself, and just had to pull down his hood whenever they met each other. As time passed, Ji Mo just let him do whatever he wanted. As a result, his role as a mysterious man who dressed strangely had turned into a slightly melancholic White Robed Priest, although he thought such an appearance was no different from that of a nameless NPC.

Ji Mo did not like looking into a mirror, and at present, he no longer had the exuberant energy he had when he was a boy. Wuyan, which never left his side, caused his face to feel incomparably unfamiliar, and he did not wish to see himself like this.

As if sensing the momentary flash of dejection from him, just as Ji Mo silently turned his gaze away, the immortal’s hand suddenly fell onto the back of his spotlessly white neck, just a soft brush from the top to bottom.

His finger that had gotten wet a little earlier carried a trace of coolness, making Ji Mo quiver slightly. As if he was afraid of harming a delicate human, Ye Mingjun always put as little force as possible whenever he was touching him, yet these featherlight sensations were much more evocative.

Ever since getting to know each other well, Ye Mingjun’s interest in touching him had grown much stronger. He had to quickly find a way to keep him under control, or he’d have more to endure in the future!

Alarm bells ringing in his head, Ji Mo immediately turned his head, sternly putting a stop to these actions which were bad for his heart, “Xianjun, please do not suddenly harass me.”

Yet at the moment, Ye Mingjun was just using his fingers to twirl his hair, using the ends of it to tickle his cheek, eyes filled with curiosity of the unknown, “Why do you react so greatly every time I touch you? Is it uncomfortable? But I saw those people at the banquet, they felt really happy about being touched, is it because I touched you at the wrong place?”

That damn Ye Junhou! Don’t you know that misbehavior in public spaces has a bad influence on children?! I’m reporting you!

His aggro toward the Demonic Continent instantly reaching its peak, Ji Mo warned gravely as he met Ye Mingjun’s eager expression, “Perish the thought, or don’t even think about stepping into my room again.”

Although he said this, Ji Mo could tell with one look at this guy’s expression that this probably wasn’t any use. Just as he hesitated on whether he should go along with his idea to crash at Su Ge’s room, the world’s savior system finally came online, “Xianjun, you have violated the rules, please accept punishment— accompany your capture target on a stroll through the market for one shichen.”

Seeing the Diorama of Civilization blocking his road of exploration like a high wall, Ye Mingjun, who was used to doing whatever he wanted, finally realized the importance of cultivation. And so he said solemnly to Ji Mo, “I’ll restore my cultivation as quickly as I can and lock it away, then touch you as much as I want.”

A Ye Mingjun unrestricted by the System, who could put his bold ideas into practice…

Silently imagining what a terrifying sight that would make, Ji Mo felt a chilly breeze blowing at his back and hurriedly pulled his clothes together around him, his enthusiasm of completing missions plunging to rock bottom.

Just as they had completely swapped their attitudes regarding the System’s missions, a knock sounded outside the door. Never expecting so many people to visit him today, Ji Mo immediately tugged on Ye Mingjun’s sleeve. Sure enough, the immortal determined who had come with one look, “It’s Su Ge.”

The High Priest? Why was he here to see him so early?

Although he felt perplexed, Ji Mo ultimately did not turn him away, saying softly, “Please come in.”

Ji Mo hadn’t locked his door after letting Ye Mingjun in, and at this moment, Su Ge gained a panoramic view of his room with a light push of the door. Firstly, he looked at the messy bedding behind Ji Mo, then glanced at the shredded priest robes on the floor, at last fixing his gaze upon the two who were clearly freshening themselves up in front of the mirror. The cause, process, and effect instantly connecting together in his mind, he was a little hesitant as he spoke, “Was it… that intense last night?”

The moment he said that, Ji Mo finally realized with a start that no one would think that Ye Mingjun had come here at the crack at dawn just to wash clothes, a normal person’s first reaction would be that they had absolutely slept together last night!

Glancing at that shredded piece of clothing, Ji Mo’s face blackened even more. Alright then, he didn’t dare to imagine what sort of weird play Su Ge’s mind had conjured up.

Ye Mingjun naturally wouldn’t be able to comprehend the real meaning behind those veiled words, and after looking down at the comb in his hand with some confusion, he said, “Was it? We do this every day.”

You’re creating more misunderstandings the more you speak! High Priest, it’s not what you think, logic cannot deduce everything, please stop thinking!

Noticing the subtle change to Su Ge’s look at that very moment, Ji Mo was unable to hold it in any longer, attempting to explain, “High Priest, you must have misunderstood.”

And yet, Su Ge merely returned with the friendly smile of a nice guy, “I understand, since the two of you wish to stay together, there is naturally a need to prepare the daily necessities for two.”

No, you don’t understand! I’m clearly doing my best to struggle on the edge of cutsleevery, are you planning to kick me down with one foot?

Looking on with despair as Su Ge actually summoned a pigeon to instruct a divine attendant, at that moment, Ji Mo finally woke up to reality, which was that flirting then running away was clearly not a move someone of his caliber could achieve.

Fortunately, Su Ge hadn’t come here specifically to observe the daily lives of cutsleeves, and got to the point after marvelling at them, “However, before that, Ye Mingjun, do you still remember our bet?”

Not expecting him to address him so suddenly, Ye Mingjun blinked, “You came to find me?”

“Your room was empty, so I figured you would be here.”

These words caused Ji Mo to take a few more uneasy steps away from Ye Mingjun. He hadn’t done anything, so why did he feel ashamed, as if he had been caught in the act by a parent…

To Su Ge, Mo had always felt emotionless, calmly responding to any situation he encountered. Seeing him so abashed was a rare sight, and he silently sighed in his heart, gods really did only show their true emotions in front of the people they liked. Yet, on the surface, he told them in all seriousness his purpose of coming here, “Although this might bother the two of you, would you mind letting Qing Ye stay by your side during this period of time?”

After he said this, he thought that this seemed rather inconveniencing, then considerately added on, “Of course, I will personally teach him how to cast the appropriate spells, the two of you can…”

I know you’re a good guy, but you don’t need to be this considerate!

Seeing that, in Su Ge’s heart, he and Ye Mingjun were already tied together as one package, Ji Mo could only expressionlessly state the truth, “Since this is something entrusted to us by the High Priest, we will naturally protect Qing Ye well. However, please know that Ye Mingjun and I do not have any nightly activities.”

Su Ge did not want to pry too much into their private matters, and seeing that Ye Mingjun did not have any intention of refuting that, he only smiled, “Then, I will be paying a visit to a few old friends of mine for the next few days, I’ll leave Qing Ye to the two of you.”

Old friends? Su Ge knew people in the Demonic Continent? He had mentioned wanting to merge the Godly and Demonic Continents, but hadn’t shown the slightest enthusiasm towards Ye Junhou. What exactly was he planning to do?

Su Ge rarely intervened in person, as Chang Hui had been in complete charge of the Shrine over the years. Ji Mo was momentarily unable to guess what he had up his sleeve, and asked in puzzlement, “Won’t the High Priest meet the Demon Lord?”

However, Su Ge was not Ye Mingjun, who would answer all his questions unconditionally. At this moment, he merely asked a question that seemed to have nothing to do with the topic, “Morning Star Priest, what do you think of the present Demonic Continent?”

What did he think of the Demonic Continent? The entire Demonic Continent was Ye Junhou’s backyard. For him to be steeped in wine and surrounded by women, they worked; to satisfy his lust for conquest, they declared war on the entire world; the people Ye Junhou liked could enjoy a meteoric rise in life, the people he hated would fall to dust. This was a place where law and order did not exist at all.

Recalling what he knew of the Demonic Continent, Ji Mo replied truthfully, “A paradise for the strong, a purgatory for the weak.”

“But the majority are weak, and a world where only a few can receive happiness is not a world I wish to see.”

Not surprised in the least to receive such an answer, Su Ge did not explain any further, smiling faintly, “I am still unsure if I will succeed, but I promise, no matter what happens, I will do my best to ensure a peaceful world for the Godly Continent.”

Was he keeping it from him because he thought the ‘gods’ would not approve of it, or even choose to prevent him from doing what he intended? Just what was it, for Su Ge to persist in doing even if it went against god’s will?

He was unable to find any clues from his expression – Ji Mo knew that Su Ge had always been mysterious, and up till now, he still did not know how this person had found him back then. His author was probably the only one who could understand the High Priest’s actual frame of mind. As he thought this, he sighed in resignation, “High Priest, no matter what you intend to do, please protect yourself. Your god would want that for you as well.”

To Su Ge, his god’s concern was the greatest blessing he could possibly receive, and upon hearing these words, his expression turned warm. Although he did not know if Ji Mo was telling the truth, he still nodded with a smile, “Thank you.”
