In the junior A class, there is a student with only one arm. Her name is Liu Yueqi. She got in an accident when she was little and lost her left hand.
When the accident occurred, she was still young, so she didn’t remember many things during that time. She had little recollection of losing her arm and doesn’t remember any pain.
But as she grew up, she noticed she was different from the others.
Whether it was her mom and dad or grandparents, or other kids around her, they always had two hands.
They could hold a bowl in one hand and a spoon in the other. When drawing, one hand can hold down the paper so it wouldn’t move. Many things needed the use of two hands.
But she only had one.
Even though she struggled to do some activities on her own, many adults liked her, so she didn’t think too much about it.
But since she came to kindergarten, the situation has changed.
When someone said that she was a monster after seeing her, soon, everyone called her that as well.
They would take all her toys, laugh at her and insult her.
The teacher explained many times that Qi Qi was not a monster, but they never stopped.
Before coming, her mom said that kindergarten was where Qi Qi would make a lot of good friends and they would like her very much.
But they didn’t like her at all.
She hated coming to kindergarten. She told her mother that countlessly, but her mom didn’t agree.
Her mom wanted her to have more contact with other children, or else she might hide from the outside world forever.
Liu Yueqi became depressed. She sat in the corner of the classroom every day and quietly stared at the other students having fun.
She also wanted to play with everyone, but everyone hated her and bullied her.
The new student looked extremely cute and had lots of cool stories. Everyone wanted to play with her.
Qi Qi also liked the new classmate, but she didn’t have the confidence to approach her.
To her surprise, the new student came to her and even defended her.
It’s the first time anyone wanted to play with her since she came to kindergarten. It was like a ray of light piercing through the dark clouds for Liu Yueqi.
She looked at Lu Lu surprised and happy.
Lu Lu looked at the kids playing with clay and reached out her hand to Qi Qi.
“Qi Qi, do you want to play with us?”
Liu Yueqi carefully held Lu Lu’s hand.
Lu Lu’s face was always smiling, even when she touched Liu Yueqi’s hand.
She yelled to the people bullying Qi Qi with her little voice. “You can’t say that Qi Qi is a monster. Only evil people call other people names and bad things.
If you are a mean child, I will not play with you, and I will not invite you to my house.”
Lu Lu pouted her mouth seriously.
Children’s minds were very simple. If someone starts to do something, the others will follow. But if there wasn’t anyone leading them, they all quickly stop.
After Lu Lu’s statement, no one took the lead to say that Qi Qi is a monster. Everyone quickly accepted Qi Qi and ignored the fact that she only had one arm.
Some of the toys are provided by the kindergarten, but some are required to be brought by the kids, like clay and playdough.
Lu Lu just arrived at kindergarten, so she didn’t have any.
Lu Lu stared at everyone else’s bucket of clay. They could use it to make anything they wanted, like flowers, small houses, bunnies.……
It felt like anything could be made out of clay.
The original Lu Lu has played with clay in her memory, but the little koi fish never did. The new material looked fun.
Lu Lu was jealous of the other kids.
She reached out her little hand and pushed on the clay. It felt a lot different than dirt.
The clay was soft and colorful. It has a nice smell, and it didn’t get stuck to the hand.
Lu Lu looked at the things everyone was making. She was determined that when she gets her own clay, she’ll make a dragon palace for her brother.
And she can make Uncle Crab and Uncle Turtle, too.
The more Lu Lu thought about it, the more she wanted to play.
What if she borrowed some from the other students and gave it back to them after she got her own?
Lu Lu was about to ask someone next to her, but Liu Yueqi interrupted her with her elbow.
Liu Yueqi pushed her brand new tub of clay towards Lu Lu and said while smiling, “Lu Lu, these are for you.”
Lu Lu looked at the clay and asked, “Qi Qi, you aren’t going to play?”
“I’m going to draw.”
