Chapter 17: Ethan, I Love You!
In the dead of the night, drenched in sweat, trembling like a lamb with his eyes shut tight Ethan lay on his bed.
"Ethan, here!", a pleasant giggle was heard followed by a hand waving at Ethan.
"Where's my icecream?! huh..", a sweet voice sounded from a pale pink figure sitting on the swing, facing her back to Ethan.
"Ethan, look at me. How do I look in this dress?"
"Ethan, Thank you, I love you! The best birthday ever.."
"Ethan, brother's bullying me!", sounded a pitiful voice.
"Ethan, I love you. Live well, Don't forget to miss me, I'll definitely.. miss... you! Ethan", struggling to fight the pain, a hoarse voice entered Ethan's ears following which he woke up with a start.
Ethan was recovering very well recently and his nightmares had also decreased in number. But the intensity of the nightmares were always too painful.
Ethan was recieving psychiatric treatment and was improving but he still couldn't forget the voice calling his name softly, the laughter as sweet as sugar, the girl in his memories haunted him everyday for the past 5 years.
Covered in cold sweat Ethan shot open his eyes and fumbled to on the bed lamp. His throat was dry, he couldn't forget the voice calling his name, In pain Ethan closed his ears with his palms and buried his head in his knees.
"Mia.. Mia, Mia", Ethan mumbled his breathing haggard and eye lashes fluttering, there were tears at the corner of his eyes. He was vulnerable, like a lost child.
Lucifer was back in his penthouse, It was one of the properties owned by him in this city. It was his safe haven. Nobody knew about this place except for Adrian and Ethan.
Lucifer was staring at the tall buildings from the ceiling to floor window while holding a glass of wine in his hand, he was feeling conflicted.
Lucifer was worried for Ethan, his friend had suffered enough for 5 years. And he knew that Ethan is still struggling to accept the truth, the past was still haunting him.
Ethan and Lucifer were very young when they met each other, Mr.Chung and Nathan Lee were business partners and close friends.
Mr.Lee was a close confidante of Mr.Chung and was aware of all the deepest secrets of Mr.Chung, he knew about him being the underworld king and the truth about Lucifer's as well.
Lucifer's mother Sandra was Mr.Chung's first love but due to circumstances they had to go on their separate ways.
Sandra was a single mother, she had raised Lucifer single handedly for 3 years.
One day Sandra discovered that she was suffering from terminal cancer. Heartbroken she went looking for Mr.Chung.
She entrusted Lucifer to Mr. Chung, the man she loved and trusted deeply.
Lucifer was around 3 years old when Sandra died. Mr.Chung was a capable father he managed to cheer the little guy and took care him till his friend suggested him to get married.
After deliberating Mr.Chung decided to get married in order to give Lucifer maternal love.

"You, Stop spoiling her. She's not a child anymore", Lucifer spoke sternly.
Pouting her lips Mia glared at her brother then fluttered her lashes and acted all cute looking at Ethan.
Amused by her behavior Ethan chuckled softly then went to get her icecream.
"Stop behaving like that, guys don't like clingy girls!", Lucifer poked Mia's forehead as if pushing his words into her brain.
"Brother, you sound like a love expert rather than prince of underworld!", Mia giggled.
"Shut up!", Lucifer poked her cheeks and laughed softly looking dotingly at Mia.
