Chapter 30: Treat You To A Meal
It was a pleasant morning, Sera was in the garden admiring the beautiful view before her. The lake looked gorgeous amidst the garden of roses, the background of trees surrounding the mansion was like a fairytale scene.
Sera was painting the beautiful sight before her eyes when she heard a call pull over, she didn't bother to see who it was and continued with her work.
Ethan had come to visit Sera because he was suddenly missing him, and he's too delusional to admit it? Sounds too good to believe but Ethan seems to realize that he enjoys Sera's company even through their awkward moments. Pushing all the puzzling questions behind he decided to find out what's wrong with him and found himself in front of her mansion.
When Ethan parked his car and alighted, he saw Sera standing tall and proud amidst the roses with a ethereal background of large trees and lake. She looked like a painting, Too unreal to be a human! Ethan saw a colorful canvas from the side, looks like she was painting. Thinking about something Ethan walked calmly towards Sera in steady steps.
Sera was mixing color on her paintbrush when she heard footsteps approaching her, thinking that Lu Jinan must be back from his business trip for the charity gala. Sera didn't bother to turn her head,
"So you're here? You know I was waiting for you.. And you don't seem to care about me at all..! Now why are you standing there like a freaking statue.. Say something why are you so late? I'm not going to forgive you if you don't get me something nice and expensive.. Tell something!", Sera was blabbering nonstop, when there was no response she turned her head to look at the man behind, dumbfounded.
Ethan had originally planned to stand quietly and observe her, but he couldn't control himself and walked over to her side. He was appreciating the artwork in his head when suddenly Sera spoke, hearing her words Ethan was shocked.
"She.. She was waiting for me?... I don't care about her?! How..", Ethan was thinking in his head when Sera turned with a stunned expression on her face.
"Oh! Mr.. Mr.Lee, I.. i didn't know.. I'm I'm sorry! i thought Jinan..", Sera spoke in a flustered tone each word sounding less audible than the other, and looked down at her feet embarrassed. Her cheeks flushed red, eyelashes fluttering.
Ethan was mesmerized looking at her, composing himself he smiled at her and spoke slowly.
"It's Okay, I must have scared you. I apologize Miss Lu", he spoke in a gentle voice.
"No it's my fault, really. Well.. you're here?", Sera asked.
"I was passing by here and decided to visit you, You must be bored at home Since you've lived most of your life abroad", Ethan lied and explained in a hurried manner blabbering. Sera was looking at him and remembered how her grandmother told her to make new friends and live without worries.
"Oh! That's okay, you're welcome here anytime. You should have called me, I will ask them to prepare supper for you", Sera tried to walk when Ethan held her hand and spoke,
"It's Okay, Let me treat you to a meal", Sera smiled nodding her head and both walked towards the entrance.
Ethan was waiting for Sera at the Lu's living space, sitting on the comfortable couch he was admiring the decor and paintings, artworks displayed. He was impressed with their sense of art and class. Being a art lover himself Ethan felt envious of the collection they had, He felt bad for not visiting the Lu's before he met Sera.
While he was daydreaming Sera came downstairs and stood before him smiling,
"Let's go Mr Lee", Ethan smiled back and stood up. He walked ahead and paused his steps briefly making Sera nervous.
"It's Ethan for you, not Mr Lee", after speaking his piece he walked ahead making Sera laugh at her silliness.
Liu Li and Zhang Lili decided to go for a beauty session before the charity gala and went to a well known high class spa resort. On the way back they spotted a famous restaurant and went there to have their lunch.
Zhang Lili was getting out of the car when Liu Li shook her pointing at a certain direction, Zhang Lili followed her gaze and was happy to see Ethan's car driving in. Zhang Lili excitedly looked at the car's mirror and tidied her hair, then prepared to walk towards the car when the car door opened.
Zhang Lili's anticipating gaze was fixed on Ethan, smiling like a fool she looked at him with stars in her eyes. She was halfway through when Ethan went over to the other side and opened the car door shocking Zhang Lili.
"Ethan? Ethan went over to open the door for someone?! Who is it? Who is the bitch? Maybe Madam Lee.. yes it's Madam Lee", Zhang Lili clenched her teeth in anger and dug her newly done nails in her palm breaking them in the process.
Relaxing her muscles she thought about the person in the car and relaxed when she thought about the possibility of Madam Lee being inside since Ethan never entangles himself with any women.. And smiled again.
