Chapter 31: Zhang Lili's Fury
Zhang Lili's smile cracked when she saw the woman coming out of Ethan's car.
"This bitch!! She seduced Ethan? My Ethan!", Zhang Lili mumbled, her eyes red with fury.
Erhan opened the car door for Sera and offered his hand smiling, Sera gladly accepted his hand grasping on it and smiled a pretty smile making Ethan's heart flutter.
They entered the restaurant hand in hand, making Zhang Lili pull out her well made hair out of jealousy and frustration.
Liu Li who was watching all this was stunned beyond words, Ethan the most eligible bachelor who was never spotted with any women was smiling and walking hand in hand with Seraphina Lu?!
She looked at Zhang Lili's tear stained ugly face and cringed. Liu Li went to her and pulled her slowly towards the car but Zhang Lili stopped her and turned to walk inside the restaurant.
Liu li though shocked decided to follow her friend.
Ethan and Sera were escorted to the second floor where they sat at a beautifully set table at the left side of the large restaurant, right next to the large floor to ceiling window. The sight outside was breathtaking.
Sera looked outside and smiled turning to face Ethan. Ethan too smiled at her.
Zhang Lili who followed them all the way looked at Sera and Ethan looking like a loving couple and her stomach twisted in a knot. The fury in her chest rose leaps and bounds, tears flowing through her eyes nonstop.
Liu Li felt sorry for her friend and patted her back softly. Zhang Lili looked at Liu Li and hugged her sobbing softly. Liu Li felt like smacking Zhang Lili for spoiling her limited edition dress, and glared at Zhang Lili's head buried in her arms with an unhappy gaze.
Zhang Lili composed herself and walked to the restroom to clean her messy face, splashing cold water on her face she glared intensely at the mirror, her eyes reflecting the hatred in her heart.
"Seraphina Lu, just you wait! I'll show you", Zhang Lili clenched her fists.
It was an exquisite French restaurant, the dishes served were all classic dishes with red wine and white wine.
Pan seared foie gras, Poulet basquaise, chocolate souffle, flamiche, cheese fondue, sirloin steak, filet mignon... Sera was stunned seeing so many dishes and smiled awkwardly looking at Ethan's face.
"Does he think I'm a pig or what!", Sera thought.
Ethan nervously looked at Sera who was staring at the dishes with a confused look in her eyes. She fidgety, Ethan smiled shaking his head and spoke,
"Let's dig in now, The dishes won't taste good if they're cold"
"Hmm yes", Sera spoke softly and started eating.
She looked happy like a kitten while eating and Ethan chuckled at her ecstatic expression. "Maybe she is a foodie", Ethan thought in her head.
While Ethan and Sera were enjoying their food on the other side, Lucifer was racking his brain to stop the possible assassination at the charity gala.
Adrian informed him about their enemies plans and they were preparing to outsmart their nemesis.
After their lunch Ethan went back to his office dropping Sera at her place. He was in a good mood, seems like now Ethan's close with Sera. Seeing his boss smiling like a fool assistant Chen had a foreboding expression on his face.
"Boss, Mr Lucifer called when you didn't answer your phone. He told that he has some news for you"
"Okay, What about the thing I asked you to do?"
"It's all done, The report is on your desk"
"Hmm Okay"
Ethan glanced at the report and saw the names of all the VIPs attending the charity gala, going through the list his eyes stuck on a particular name. Eyes red with suppressed anger, his fingers clenched the report tightly crumbling the report.
"Sera sweetie, Have you prepared everything for the charity gala. It's your debut at such a large scale event, mother is worried about you", Lu Shanshan spoke gently walking into Sera's bedroom.
"Don't worry mother, Su Yin did well", Sera stated chuckling.
"Good, tomorrow be good and avoid trouble! Stay with Jinan and Su Yin don't go running around. People may not recognize who you are, Now sleep it's quite late. Good night my precious", Lu Shanshan spoke tucking Sera into the bed and gently running her fingers through Sera's hair, smiling sweetly.
"Yes mother, I'm not a child! I'll behave... Good night ", Sera pouted unhappily then nodding her head smiled at her mother.
