The statement made by the police officer sounded shocking to the residents of the house. At least, that's what Jenqyih thought. They all looked at each other.
"So Mr. Horngshi wrote our data on the wall of one room in his house?" Iren raised his eyebrows.
"Not on the wall, Sir! So there is a long white board hanging on the wall of that room. Your data is taped to the whiteboard. It seems that Mr. Horngshi is conducting an investigation."
"Inquiry into what?" Iren's eyes filled with wonder.
"We can not conclude yet, Sir!"
"So Mister Horngshi knows about our background and customs." The muscles on Yihshyong's face tensed up. "What kind of background is listed there?"
"All kinds of things, Sir! For example, regarding the date of birth of gentlemen here."
Yihshyong was nodding his head with such fast movements, as if he was impatient. "Other than that, what else?"
"Name and age of the parents, as well as the names of the siblings of the gentlemen who live in this house."
"Huh? To that extent?" Jenqyih screamed loudly. He could not hide his surprise. It was all beyond his expectations.
Iren turned to Yihshyong. He looked like he wanted to open his mouth, but he also seemed hesitant.
What is he trying to say? Has he hesitated because of the presence of the police?
Jenqyih did not know whether the facts that had just been revealed were a surprise or not for his friends. Except for Iren, he saw that Chioujen and Yihshyong's faces didn't seem to have changed so drastically. Chioujen has always had a hard time expressing his feelings. But not so with Yihshyong. Usually, that person was quite expressive. Yihshyong's face indeed turned tense. But apparently, he wasn't too surprised.
Could it really be true that there is something they already know?
"It turns out that Mr. Horngshi has been observing and collecting our data all this time." Iren turned his face back to the police officers. "What's the point of doing that?"
"We don't know yet, Sir! That's why we are looking for Mr. Horngshi, so he can explain what he is really doing." Chioulin said those words with an earnest facial expression. "What do you think? Are there any other questions?"
Yihshyong, Iren, Jenqyih, and Chioujen shook their heads in unison. Jenqyih saw that his friends' foreheads were full of wrinkles.
What are they thinking? Is it the same as what I think?
"Thank you! Now you may come back!" Chioulin said in a firm voice to the two men.
"Yes, Sir!" The two uniformed policemen saluted Chioulin. They both then quickly left the house. Chioulin and his two co-workers sat back down.
Chioulin Shinnjaang then asked Yihshyong, Iren, and Jenqyih to return to sit on the couch. After that, he attempted to gather more information.
"Is there anything else you remember about Mr. Horngshi? For example, did he ever tell you about where he worked or the places he frequented?"
Yihshyong shook his head. "We are not very close to him. He has only been living here for about five months. We often see him walking around this housing complex alone."
"We also don't know what his job is," said Iren. "He never said anything about it."
"You guys never asked him at all?" Chioujen, who was still standing, pursed his lips.
"Never," said Iren. "I'm assuming he doesn't have a job. So I thought a question like that would make things awkward."
