Not many people know what would happen in their life. Even people who had thoughtfully arranged everything sometimes encountered surprises that coloring their lives. Muhrong Menqder also did not escape those surprises. He was not a person who likes to plan everything, so he was ready with all the risks he has to face. But even so, the things happening in his life right now were far from what he had expected.

"Sir! Is there any schedule change?"

Muhrong Menqder gasped. The question interrupted his thoughts. He turned to the person who asked the question. He saw a young man who looked very nervous. Beads of sweat trickled down the young man's forehead.

"Tomorrow, we will leave at the exact time we have planned. Until now, there has been no order to advance or postpone our plans!"

The young man nodded. Muhrong Menqder realized that the youth's nod did not mean that the answer he gave had calmed the young man down. The young man was probably hoping that their leader would issue an order canceling the mission they were about to carry out.

"Sir! Aren't you worried?" The youth seemed reluctant to leave Muhrong Menqder's side.

"Of course I'm worried. But that won't change things. Let's just do the best we can!"

"I've never killed anyone before, Sir!"

Muhrong Menqder led the young man to sit on a chair in the room they were now in. Then he sat down in the chair next to the chair.

"We're not going to kill anyone. Unless circumstances force us to do so." Menqder said softly but still with a firm tone.

The young man took a deep breath. Muhrong Menqder realized that whatever he said would not change the ingrained things inside the young man's mind.

"I understand, Sir! Don't worry. I'll do my best. I'm also sorry if you think I'm so stupid."

"There's nothing for me to forgive. And you are not stupid. What you're feeling right now is normal."

"The others don't seem to have the same problem as me, Sir!"

"Who said that? Most of them feel how you feel right now. But they choose not to show it."

"Is that so, Sir?"

"I can't read minds. But from my experience, I can guarantee that what I'm saying is true. So please don't think that you're the only one who doesn't believe you can do the things we're about to do."

"Have you ever felt like this before?"

"Let alone before, until now, every time I go on a dangerous mission, I always feel nervous, and sometimes I doubt my abilities."

"Then what do you do when you feel like that?"

"It's simple. I try to stay calm and don't think about it too much. When the time comes, I just do what's written in the pre-arranged plan. Don't improvise unless the circumstances require."

"Thank you, Sir!" The young man seemed a little more relieved.

"Is there anything else you'd like to ask?"

"No, Sir."

Even though the young man said that, Muhrong Menqder heard the doubt in the young man's voice.

"Is that right?"

"Look, Sir. Earlier in my room, I found something under the bed."

"Something like what?"

"A book, Sir."

"A book? Then? Have you read it?"

"I only skimmed through it, Sir. It appears to be a novel."

"A novel? Ah! Maybe it belongs to the person who used to occupy that room. Not strange at all, right?"

"That's not unusual, Sir. But there are some things in the book that I think, coincidentally, are a bit like some of the things we're about to do."

"Eh? Where's the book? I want to see."

"All right, Sir."

The young man took the folder that he had put on a table in the room when he just entered the room. After opening the folder, he took out a novel that was not that thick. He gave the novel to Muhrong Menqder.

"Oh! This is volume 5! Did you find the previous volumes, too?"

"No, Sir. Just this book."

"Okay, thank you."

Muhrong Menqder opened the first page of the novel. He did not recognize the author's name. But it meant nothing. Muhrong Menqder was not one of those who likes to read novels. So maybe the author was actually quite famous, but Muhrong Menqder didn't know.

"What do you think, Sir?"

"I'm going to read this novel to see how similar the plot is to what we're supposed to do next."

"Alright, Sir!"

"Now, you go back to your place. Wait for further orders!"

"Yes, Sir!"

The young man then stood up. He saluted Muhrong Menqder. After that, he walked straight out of the room.

After the young man disappeared behind the door, Muhrong Menqder continued reading the book.
