From the stairs leading to the first floor, the sound of footsteps broke the silence. Based on the sound of the footsteps, Akimasa estimated that over two people were walking down the stairs.

They then opened their bags. From inside one bag, they took out small objects wrapped in black plastic. Then, they took things like a digital clock, some rolls of plastic string, and duct tape from another bag.
