"We got attacked! That damn monsters were too cunning. Luckily, we have a mage on our side. I can't even imagine what would happen if Ms. Lexi was not there."

"What!? Where's she!?"

The reaction unexpectedly came from Samuel who has been silently following Jake's instruction. He came up towards the dying man as he began to stare at him with anxiety.

"Tell me! Is she alright?"

The man gulped at the pressure emitted by Samuel. The effect of Jake's elixir began to fade as his mind failed to relax.

"Hey! Stop it. Let him continue."

Jake pulled Samuel to the side to prevent any more unwanted situation. The man was the only one who might possess a clue to Lee's whereabouts. After all, it was very likely for him to be part of Lee's warp spot.

"Sir, take a deep breath. If you panic, the blood loss will be that much quicker. Try to stay calm."

The man gulped but eventually nodded his head, doing as instructed. His pained face slowly showed a sign of relief.

However, for Jake, it is not a piece of great news. The ease of pain meant that the man's body has become numb to the pain and might die at any minutes.

"I met Ms. Lexi and the others as soon as I entered the dungeon. My party was nowhere to be seen and there're only 9 other people besides me. One of them is Ms. Lexi. She remained calm under the situation and helped us organized our thoughts."

'A total of 10 people… That's the smallest number amongst the others.'

"We traveled together as a party. At first, everything was fine. The monsters came in a group but we are able to defend against them with a simple formation. Ms. Lexi's magic, in particular, helped the battle a lot. But…!"

The man's complexion started to pale as he recalled a specific event. A feeling of dread started to overwhelm him.

"Those monsters! They actually lured us to a trap! We thought that we got them under control but one of the monsters ran away after we killed its comrade. We didn't think much at that time and rushed for the kill. But it actually led us to its base. We should have listened to Ms. Lexi…"

"Can't you just retreat? There's no way you won't spot the base before its too late right?"

"That's what we thought too. But those cunning monsters. They actually prepared an ambush from behind. A lot of monsters with a sword appeared and killed some of our ranged attackers. Luckily, Ms. Lexi was saved by Mr. Lee."

'Lee!'

The name echoed inside Jake, Kana, and Roger's head. It was the name of their last missing guildmember and dear friend. The three, however, didn't voice out their concern in order to let the man continue his story. However, the feeling of anxiousness still formed inside their heart.

"We saw another path not far from our position and made a plan to retreat there. Ms. Lexi started to ready her large-scale magic while we protect her. Fortunately, we managed to hold out somehow but we lost some of our comrades. The 6 of us rush through the path and arrived at an intersection."

"We took a small break to replenish our stamina but those monsters didn't let us. We heard their footsteps and ran here."

"I got hit by an arrow and fell here. Ms. Lexi was kind enough to cast concealment magic around me so I won't die but it soon wears off. Fortunately, the monsters have already gone and were left with only a small number. The rest is… as you can see…"

"I see… Thank you, sir. So, the others followed this path? How long was that?"

"Yes… *cough* It's been… *cough* around thir—"

The man suddenly stopped moving as his breathing stopped. He has passed away. His eyes were still wide open, staring at the ceiling. However, his body has gone cold from all the blood loss. The only fortunate thing was that he died without any pain.

Jake used his hand to close the eyes of the man and offer a small prayer. The others followed Jake's gesture and did the same. They were thankful for the information given by the man.

"Jake, I know this is selfish but please save Lexi. She's part of our party. We got separated by the dungeon somehow."

"Yeah, let's go! My friend might also be with her."

Jake's heart started to beat faster and worry started to form. He knew that the worst case scenario would be Lee dying at the Groglod's village and didn't manage to come here. If that was the case, it is definitely his fault that Lee died.

'No… Not again.. Please, stay alive Lee!'

The party ran at full speed, following the dimly lit cave. After around 30 minutes, their breathing got a bit ragged but a piece of pleasant news appeared in Jake's ears.

"Master, I can sense Lee's <Silver Pass>. Don't worry he's still alive, but not for long. The lifeforce indicates that he's suffering from a great injury."

'Great! Thanks, Sylphy.'

"Everyone, I've sense them. I'll go on ahead, come as quickly as possible."

Right after saying that, Jake's legs were covered with a blue-ish glow and his speed suddenly increased. It didn't take 5 seconds before the others lost sight of Jake's figure.

*

"Ahh!! Help m—"

A fountain of blood was formed as a man's head was severed from his body. The man's headless body fell limped to the floor.

A gigantic Groglod, holding a 5 feet broadsword gave out an eerie smile as he gazed into a distance. The Groglod was different from what has been seen so far.

=Groglod Knights=

A member of the Groglod's elite corps. Their mission is to protect the ruler of the Groglods and served as a bodyguard.

It lets out one large roar, causing the group of intruders to shiver in fear. The size of the intruders was greatly reduced compared to when they came into contact with it.

Now, they were left with 3 persons. One of them had jet black hair, the characteristic of an Asian. He held both of his fists in front of his chest. There is fear written all over his face and body gesture. For instance, his legs are shaking madly as tried his best to fend the monsters.

The one with the most disadvantageous position is a large middle-aged man with a shield. He, too, tried his best to block the attacking Groglod from reaching his body and behind him. The reason for his desperate struggle is the last survivor of the hunters.

Lexi Beck is the sole surviving woman on the human side. She is currently in deep concentration as she placed her right hand above her head. A fireball, similar to one created by the Groglods Mage appeared on her palm. It soon grew bigger until it surpassed the size of the Groglod Mage's fireball.

"Go!"

The command launched the <Fireball> towards the large number of Groglods. The <Groglod Knights>, however, managed to block the attack by using the other Groglods as a meat shield.

This scene has already occurred three times in total. Each time, at least one person in the party died from exhaustion and hacked by the Groglods. At this rate, it is only a matter of time before the party was wiped out.

The only good news is the fact that the number of Groglods are slowly decreasing from the attack. Lexi estimates that it would take 2 more fireballs to kill all the remaining Groglods except for the <Groglod Knight>.

The Asian man, known as Lee, kicked the nearest Groglod with the chance created. The slight pause gave a small breathing room for the three but not enough to regain their battle power.

Lee's head was filled with fear and anxiety. The timid part of himself began to show, contrary to what he displayed to the party. He can only hope to struggle and place his hope on Lexi, the strongest person within the three. In fact, it is already a miracle for him to survive this long.

ROAR

The Groglod Knight roared once again as it marched with another group of Groglods. The target was shifted from the middle-aged man to Lee. It decided to deal with the weakest looking one first before dealing with Lexi and the middle-aged man.

Colors drained from Lee's face as his body stopped listening to his command. He stood deeply rooted due to the pressure emitted by the Groglod Knights.

"No… Shit! Move damn body!"

Through willpower alone, Lee managed to move his body as he tried to dodge an incoming slash from the Groglod Knights. However, it was a bit too late as the slash managed to cut through his back, giving it a nice deep red color.

"ACK!"

The pain was intolerable for Lee. His entire body felt hot and cold at the same time. The strength in his body started to fade away as he lay on the floor, staring at the Groglod Knight.

Lee knew that he would die here. However, he didn't regret it. From this journey, he could feel that his timid self has begun to change.

The Groglod Knight stopped his movement in front of Lee as he placed the broadsword on Lee's neck. There is a slight pause as if he's asking for Lee's last words.

Lee simply smiled and used his remaining strength to lift his right hand to show a middle finger to the Groglod Knight.

"FUCK OFF!"

The Groglod Knight didn't seem to understand Lee's words but still proceed to deal with the killing strike.
