Chapter 125

"Huff huff huff..." Joana's face grows pale from exhaustion. Silence had filled the chime of battle.  If Arctius has won, he would have contacted her.

Fear takes over her once prideful physique. She starts to wonder where things go wrong. What did she do wrong?

As she frantically slips through the large crowd, unaware of her destination, her only thought is to escape for her life.

A blade abruptly pierces her from behind as the killer covers her mouth with a cloth. Pain shoots up her abdomen.

"Huh?"

I pull her aside into an alley and pull out the knife. As her life flashes right past, she collapses to the ground.

She couldn't do anything. Everything will be futile. I pull out her veil to reveal her face. A burn scar marks her eyes, hidden behind the veil.

In her final moments, she simply stares at me with regret. Tears flow down and mix with the puddle of blood oozing out.

I decapitate her head and stuff it inside a bag before throwing it in my storage ring. Betrayed by greed, her corpse is left to rot in the streets.

...

"..."

I got my revenge but not a shred of joy came. Futility crashes into my existence. Should I have made her suffer more? I don't know.

Calculation complete.

1. 10 million exp

2. [Cosmic Spear Arts] Manual

3. Banished Spear

4. 1 Weird Stone

5. Law of The Gods

-------------------

I stare at the panel. Another weird stone appeared, I will need eight more to unlock that hidden dungeon. Banished Spear and the Manual is a boss drop from Arctius and the Law of The Gods is a class advancement material.

Soon, I will proceed with my class advancement.

All of a sudden, I hear a large commotion and screams of concern. Many have stopped to look above, their eyes trembling from fear as the orange hue grazes their pupils.

A blazing bright ball of fire hovers above the city,  lighting up the dark sky.

"What the fuck...?" I mumble.

Magic has many tiers to categorise each spell. The higher the number, the stronger and more complex the spell is. The highest magic ever known to mankind is a tier ten spell. Meteor Showers, the exact spell I'm witnessing, is a tier six.

"H-Hey, it's descending!"

"Run!"

Everyone turns their backs and scrambles away, attempting to find shelter. The once-bustling streets become an ocean of humans streaming away.

In the narrow chaos, I jump to the roof for space. I can feel the searing heat from the mini sun.

Jumping from roof to roof, I attempt to get as far as possible.

*BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!*

With a deafening roar, the meteor makes contact, obliterating anything in its path. The initial impact generates an enormous shockwave that rips through the city, demolishing buildings, and shattering windows. Tremors uproot the sea of humans, splattering a river of blood. Explosive searing inferno engulfs and spread, leaving a trail of devastation.

In the end, ripples of craters paint the city.

Similar commotion occurs at the borders of the city.

A large army has advanced into the city with Rena as the core, utilizing the aftermath of the meteor.

"Kill everyone that resists! Those that surrender will be spared!" Rena shouts.

"Yes!" The troops under her reply in unison.

Wielding the same sword I provided her, she shreds through anyone that attempts to challenge her might. Her troops are no pushovers. They have proper techniques and formation.

During the time I didn't see her, she grew taller.

Suddenly, I detect many malicious intents. A large army of men jumps from roof to roof and travels swiftly on the ground.

Two of the mysterious forces encounter me on the roof but ignored my existence. They hide and wait for an opportunity.

I've thought of helping until I see the current Rena.

----------------

What...

How much did she train? She even found Pharah's soul?!

Revered as an unparalleled genius, this is the real Rena, different from the Rena controlled by a player; I don't think I did this well in terms of strength growth in my final playthrough of the game.

-----------------

Divinity warns you!

The choice the player makes now will determine the future.

May the goddess bless you.

!

This is a panel I've never seen before.

...

"Hah..." I sigh.

They are telling me to reveal myself.

Hm...

Fine, it's about time I enter the main storyline.

Since my masked persona has a criminal reputation, I pull it off and reveal my real appearance.

The men laying low on the roof glance at me when I approach them, high on alert. They reach for their weapons.

"What do you want-"

Before they even realise it, a single cut separates their body.

I take a deep breath and exude a large amount of aura.

!!!

Rena instantly catches the aura and looks at me.

"Arsto..." She mumbles. Rena jumps to the roof.

"Why are you here?" She asks, smiling.

"I had business here," I reply.

"Oh. Did I interrupt anything?"

"No, I just finished."

I point ahead of us. "400 men ahead."

She nods. "I know."

To chat so casually in the middle of battle, I do not know what's going on in her head. Then I realise her troops are no joke. They can push back the force resisting with few casualties. I can see some familiar faces, one being Radz as the commander.

Her affability sends chills down my spine.
